  1. Can't say I blame you. I guess it depends how one defines pretty strong interest, but I would think if Brady had a sniff of a chance of being more than TCF he would probably be in the NFL right now.
  2. I really don't have much of a read on the East right now to be honest. Yea...doubtful TO goes 16-2 again, but they should be right up there in the East.
  3. Richmond is a bit of a loss in that he was system ready. However, I am confident that we will find a good RT.
  4. Until proven otherwise, Montreal is the team to beat in your division. Like it or not, they ultimately were the East`s best team last year. Don`t get me wrong, if playoffs were best of 3 it`s Winnipeg vs Toronto last year and we have our 3rd Grey Cup in 4 years...but the fact of the matter on any given Sunday for two straight games, Montreal was able to claim the title as the team to beat in the CFL. It belongs to them. I do agree that FA, is a bit over rated in terms of measuring a teams competitiveness. Good teams lose players, bad teams get some, but at the end of the day the teams that recruit the best over time are usually at or near the top of the league.
  5. The recruitment better be very good because a boat load of talent just left. If you think you are filling those holes with first year recruits you are high. The Argos have to get to work in FA or they are going to be left behind. That being said, I have never seen a team built in FA do very well.
  6. It really doesn't matter in such a small sample size of each roster. Every team will have a handful of highly paid guys, medium paid guys, and ELCs. I would suspect our starting lineup will likely be more expensive than theirs and we will rely on our excellent recruitment to fill out most of our depth with ELCs. Hardrick, if he doesn't re-sign with the Bombers in the exclusive window, will be a big culture get for the Riders. However, there is a very significant chance this contract ages badly for the Riders. Yoshi was worn down by the end of the season last year and began to struggle. Might have been nicked up, might be father time. I do know that the Bombers rarely ever walk away from a veteran player like Yoshi unless it is very clear that salary will definitely outweigh performance.
  7. Like your list but I will add ROTY recruit to your wishlist. Position is irrelevant but hopefully DE
  8. I know you are joking but you are right. Pepper is more Renaissance fair then outer space but point taken. Lol
  9. If he doesn't come out of the gates with big games he will be the forgotten man in their offence.
  10. I will now sit back and watch as Toronto and others go to work re-signing the players when the exclusive window opens that Regina thought they were getting and laugh my ass off.
  11. Only if Maksymic gets fired. No running back can be a difference maker with 5 carries a game.
  12. He was beyond brutal last year. Or he might have been told he's not in the mix for a starting OT spot and decided to hang them up.
  13. Hope so. What we saved on Schoen went to Brady, so I am not that upset with BOs contract any.ore.
  14. Schoen has said all along this is where he wants to be. Today he put his money where his mouth is. I thought it would take Lawler money to bring him back and I don't think many people felt it would be 230k
  15. If you can do 5.6-6.0 for 170 carries a year you can do it for 250
  16. Well I must admit if you told me we would get Brady and Schoen for 460k I wouldn't be that upset. This makes me happy. Brady at an overpay but Dalton on a discount= fair market value for our big 2
  17. I know exactly what his production was, you seem lost understanding that there are 5 other guys in this loop that offered similar production per carry.
  18. When you are asking how his production compares to other backs I think the answer to your question is pretty obvious. I don't think we really want Zac playing like Matt either.
  19. Sure. I think in fairness one should compare YPC, and % per number of touches to Guage effectiveness. He got fed the rock way more than anyone else, and yes he did well with those carries but he didn't lead all rushers by any significant margin that isn't directly related to his usage.
  20. Not a fair comparable. BO had almost 100 more rushing touches than any other starting RB.
  21. I love Brady and really wanted him back, just not at that price. I don't feel a RB is ultimately worth it. Hope I'm wrong.
  22. What the hell makes you the expert? People are certainly entitled to their opinion on this contract. It is 60k more than any RB made last year and the biggest RB contract in CFL history. Not everyone agrees that ANY RB at 230-240k is a wise use of SMS. That's not entitlement or being spoiled. It's different from your opinion that is all.
