  1. That's ok because realistically Toronto only had 4 players worthy of their CFL all star nods.
  2. The league didn't really have much of a choice after they chose BO over ZC. Had the MOP been CK vs ZC the all star vote may have went a different way. Can't have an MOP finalist not being the league all star if the other finalist isn't playing his position too. Honestly, everyone knows Zac was the best QB in the loop again this year but naming him CFL all star would be admitting the Bombers have TWO players that were more outstanding than Kelly. That wouldn't play well to the CFL's desperation to make the Argos relevant.
  3. Agree about NHL. Most nights it looks like 2 teams on a pleasure skate until playoff positioning starts ratcheting up. NFL is the best sport for large group viewing. It allows so much time between actual plays that one can socialize easily and not miss the game. Watching it alone, bores me to tears though. Glad that there is a ton of Bomber content on Youtube and on my PVR to get me through the offseason. Fair enough. I don't care enough about his opinion to do so but it is beating a dead horse.
  4. To be an upper echelon receiver in this league you have to produce in victory just as much as you produce in garbage time. Sure garbage time will always pad everyone's stats, but Lawler's 900 yards is WAAAAAAY more impressive than Bane's 1100 imo. Crap for most of the season we barely threw the ball in the 2nd half let alone the luxury of padding the stats in garbage time.
  5. My argument does not at all rely on personal observation or experience. It relies on statistics. The statistic being memberships are up in junior curling at my curling club, and according to the MCA across the province. That my friend is a fact. You can dismiss it as anecdotal if you so wish, but it doesn't make it any less factual....unlike your original claim that was completely, 100% unfounded and completely anecdotal. Just do a google search man. You are so ridiculous in the way you argue that RIch is right, it can only be trolling.
  6. Well I guess they probably should.
  7. No it really isn't. I think you need a new dictionary.
  8. Was over at RIderfans and some guy was suggesting that Shawn Bane will be a top 3 receiver in this league this coming year. I had a hunch about his production so I went and did a little deep dive of his numbers: In the RIders 6 wins this season he averaged 49.5 yds a game, did not have a single 100 yard game, and was held to 40 yards or less in 4 of those wins. In 12 losses this year he put up all 4 of his 100 yard games, averaged 72.3 yards per game. Can anyone say garbage time production? Numbers and stats can be so very deceptive sometimes. The guy did nothing for them really until teams played ultra soft coverage in garbage time.
  9. He's not completely wrong. Some domesticated dogs such as huskies have been known to go feral and join wolf packs. However, they are ripped apart and killed just as often too. Letting stray dogs just go is just a very, very bad idea though. They starve, they get desperate, they pack up, and they get nasty. Animal rescuers can go onto anyone's property and take any untied dog on a reserve with permission of band council. Same way band constables will shoot any untied dog during dog days.
  10. The Stamps certainly have a massive opportunity to gain some ground back if they can convince Edward to open up the wallet prior to Jan. They have a million dollars off the books through 6 gaming this year and that likely relates to a good 500-600k of open cap space. If Dicky is a busy boy he can pay a crap load of players next year on this year's books. Huff will need to convince him I am sure.
  11. Ticats fans have every right to be unhappy. When a team is awful in a Grey Cup hosting year heads should roll.
  12. Me too. I think we all probably have. Living in Manitoba what choice did we have? lol
  13. My observation is not anectdotally based in any way. I told you Jr. membership is on the rise at my curling club, and from speaking to other curling club members that is the norm. What is anecdotal about that? Instead, you went full on stupid and asked me to provide receipts proving that. Like...yea...I'll go straight down to the club, call a meeting, and ask the treasurer for copies of the books because some guy on the internet can't stand to be wrong. Jeez Louise. You made a post condemning the future of curling in curling's bedrock province. Not sure why you thought that would play well, especially to all of us that know better but instead of admitting that maybe your gut feeling about it was wrong, and thanking someone for bringing accurate info on the matter, you go full on troll about it.
  14. Try Thompson lol...but yea -40 is a crap load colder than -10 by any and all metrics
  15. Cool. My friend used to bar tend there for a couple seasons back in the early 90's. Frikken rink burgers, and I don't care what rink.....are the best.
  16. LMAO....doubling down on a feeling you have. If you don't have receipts you are not allowed to converse with him. Exactly. Junior curling is benefitting from hockey being crazy expensive now.
  17. Listen here sonny boy, I am a board member at my local curling club, a former board member of the MCA, and membership is still very strong and junior membership have never been higher. You are talking out your ass on this one at least as far as Manitoba goes.
  18. Me too. I have never met any native from a reserve with an objection to that. Stray/feral dogs are a very real public safety concern on most reserves.
  19. Grand Rapids is definitely the exception to that rule in the native community then. Dog attacks by stray dogs are a very real concern on pretty much every reserve I know of, or have lived. Band constables have dog days where they drive around shooting them for public safety. There is nearly no objection to it that I know of. I am sure a great deal of reserves would welcome these dogs being rescued.
  20. Will be interesting to see what the Bombers do with snap counts this week. Betts and Touhema are the most penalized players in this league by a significant margin, and it is mostly due to trying to jump the snap count. I imagine we will look to exploit that.
  21. Either way, it is irrelevant. Huf has either passed on the duties to Dicky, or is just too old to do it the same way he used to do it. When your strategy is to operate on a shoe string budget and simply move on from guys when they go their 2nd contract you better be able to keep your cupboards overflowing with talented rookies. For whatever reason Huf no longer makes that happen. It's not like the fickle fans of Calgary give him a reason to care....just saying.
  22. You obviously don't live in Manitoba. There is no danger of curling dying. I love the NFL....but I hate watching it. Too long between plays.
  23. No argument from me there. I will add though, that Hufnagel's philosophy worked out very well for him. They were the dominant CFL team for a decade doing that. The problem is Huff isn't really there anymore, and towards the end he was too old to put in the amount of work required to make that kind of strategy pay off. Walters has a very different philosophy to Huf and it too works and is far more sustainable imo. For sure. Dicky needs to do a full evaluation of how the Stamps sign/recruit because the Hufnagel era is over. Dicky could do himself a big favor by going out and getting a better QB for sure.
  24. For sure. For many years talent would walk out their door but Huf was an amazing GM and even better evaluator of talent imo. Now....they struggle with all of that.
  25. But was Randy Bachman there? He says he was. lmao
