  1. I think he will have his good games and bad games. Having the team on your shoulders takes some time to get used to. I have no doubt he is a future starter in this league, but like every guy going into their first starting gig there will be some hiccups.
  2. I wouldn't call it good news, but definitely the best case scenario if we had to lose him. Give him high signing bonus 150k and guaranteed 150k in 26 for 220k per year. Agreed. If we need to take the 100k fine to go 100k over....lets do it.
  3. I am of the firm belief that we have a VERY good chance of getting Streveler back and it won't be for much more than we paid Brown. I think the 200k number is just a media creation based on the fact that most of them have the math skills of a 3 year old. Toronto is prepared to let AJ walk because of a 170k ask being what they consider too rich for a running back. I think that is what most of the league feels as well. BO just has zero leverage because he plays a position that CFL teams will not pay big for. Does he deserve 200k in a perfect world? Of course he does. Will he get it. I highly doubt it.
  4. I hear ya, but certainly Montreal is keenly aware of who Dalton Schoen is and what his main strength is and are keenly aware of what Cody Fajardo's flaw fatale is. Knowing that do you go out and pay Schoen 250-300k when you know he isn't really a great fit with your QB? If by all out you mean making totally necessary changes to their roster...then yup...they sure are.
  5. For sure. For every player we don't sign you have to subtract at the minimum the CFL minimum salary to calculate SMS relief. Mike Miller, for instance, was making 120k. If we replace him with a rookie our savings are 55k or thereabouts.
  6. Over paid imo. Sure he will accommodate. Question is how much does that accommodation hurt his production and over all effectiveness.
  7. Most of what I see from Schoen is that he is one of, if not the best receiver in this league at getting behind coverage and catching the ball on the run. Fajardo can't hit a moving target. If they want to waste Schoen by making him stop and be a stationary target then I think it's a lose-lose situation for both the Als and Schoen. That is most definitely not Schoen's strength. Can he do it? Of course, but he is most dangerous....almost exclusively dangerous as a moving target but needs a QB with accuracy to put it on him. Arland III is thinking about suing the CFL over this. Just a prediction. lmao
  8. Yea. It's still very early in offseason '24.
  9. How much earlier could we have traded him really. We are two weeks into this year's SMS. Obviously true but at the same time I watched Crum and he had a really bad habit of holding onto the ball WAAAAAAAYY too long and trying to houdini out when there was no realistic chance of doing so. Yea...he escaped once in a while but he got caught for a sack more times than not.
  10. If I had to guess....180....unless the Streveler talk is for real then we just may let him walk if he wants more than 170k.
  11. If there is and anyone knows who it is please contact Kyle Walters ASAP. Schoen would be wasted on CodyFaj. Cody does not have the accuracy to utilize the strengths of Schoen. Lawler is the type of receiver he needs. A guy who can still make the catch on a very poorly thrown ball.
  12. I'm sure BO will try to get as high an offer as he possibly can before coming to his senses and coming back to us at a reasonable rate.
  13. Yep...I agree. He's at that age and risk of declining play where taking less is even in his best interest.
  14. Schoen is a unicorn type receiver that just seems to be open every play. The guy's production is just off the charts. He's only been in the league two years. We need him back.
  15. I agree, and Schoen would be nipping at their heels in 3rd because all he does is get open and produce. If Lawler or Schoen were the same size as Hatcher etc they would be in the NFL. Oh no...they are big...that must make them the best. BC does not have a receiver that is nearly as dangerous as Lawler/Schoen. They have big receivers that rack up yards because BC refuses to run the ball ever. I'll take Lawler and Schoen thank you very much.
  16. Not as good as Lawler or Schoen. It's that simple. Not blue goggles just fact.
  17. It helps keep prices down when your top 2 are not nearly as good as our top 2
  18. Meh....Brady is coming off lousy because he is not thinking before he is posting. However, lots of players try to make it look like they MIGHT leave if they are lowballed prior to FA. If Brady thought how his posts make him look to Bomber fans I am sure he would rephrase many of them or just leave it to his agent. I still feel we sign Brady at a heckuva lot less than the numbers the media is throwing around.
  19. God I hope you are right. Would be the best move we make all offseason. Interesting, but not all that surprising to me. Stan is the GOAT but last year we saw him slightly decline. Before anyone jumps down my throat, Stan despite declining is still an elite OT.
  20. If one can consider paying Harris 500k again this year as good news....then hooray for them.
  21. Just ask Bluto and you have already covered 50% of them.
  22. I think the Elks and TO both win this trade for different reasons. The Argos are going to get raided in FA, and won't be able to do much about it due to SMS restraints. Of course, Mace will be spending to get some of his DL guys so Toronto was going to take a hit there. Gittens is the better player, but Ceresna gives them a stud DL under contract for about the same money and TO can watch Hendrix and Oakman go elsewhere. Not buying the cock and bull that Bluto is floating that Gittens was expendable, but there is a cost associated to a guy like Ceresna and Gittens is coming off a bad injury.
  23. It is true. Yes, we've paid fairly but just off the top of my head both Lawler and Jefferson took less money than they were offered elsewhere to be in Winnipeg. Both players confirmed that they had better offers on the table in FA and chose to be here. That, of course, doesn't mean we didn't pay a ton for them just that others would have paid more.
  24. We aren't making an offer over 170k to Brady imo.
