  1. Yes, and if history has taught us anything that will turn to despair once the season gets a few games in. Two things you can count on during FA frenzy every year, Migs or whatever nom du jour he is using will come here and demand respect for the RIders and tell us all how fantastic O'Day's offseason so far has been, and Booch and the rest of us making uncannily accurate predictions about how their season will really go. I mean if I were a Rider fan I would never read our site. We lay out an exact blueprint for their season every year that is proven to be astonishingly accurate. It's like we all are the Amazing Kreskin of Rider prognostications. So Wheeler, get yourself a bottle of chokecherry wine cause here it goes. 1. Trevor Harris will be out by the mid point of the season with a career ending injury. He is just too fragile now, and too old to heal quickly. 2. The Riders defence will again be awful and will get run over playing with an undersized LBer crew again. 3. Marc Mueller will be the worst OC in the CFL by a country mile and the Riders will struggle mightily to score points 4. The Riders will finish 6-12 and O'Day will be fired shortly after the season ends. You can take most of that to the bank Wheeler/Migs. If you think that my post is a joke go back in the post history for the last 10 years and see how often my predictions on the Riders are out to lunch. You will be very disappointed after.
  2. QFT. Imagine being so void of winning anything that your team signing an old veteran tackle on his last legs, and a bunch of mid tier talent, gets you primping around like a rooster. As long as Harris/Fine are the QBs, and Mueller is the OC that team goes nowhere no matter who they sign.
  3. You are completely out to lunch. Wilson was awesome this year, and Bighill was an all star. Go back to your hole Migs.
  4. I like Walters ability to find guys that represent good value for the money we spend. I'm sure there will be a few like that added. Our only big loss was Yoshi. The rest, it was time or we had just as good in house already.
  5. When you have recruitment as good as ours, you gotta lean on it every few years so that we don't blow our SMS structure up and try build through FA like a certain green team hasn't figured out yet. Honestly blows me away that they had the chance to start an earnest rebuild this year and instead are running it back with a 40 year old QB and blowing their wad in FA. SMH. Mace is a yes man to O'Day, and this won't end well for them.
  6. ...and teach there? U of S could use the help I suppose.
  7. For sure. This is likely his last big year of earning. He had to set himself up. Good chance he doesn't see the 2nd year of that payout. That's not a knock on Yoshi, just the reality that O'day will likely lose his job after the season and the new GM is unlikely to value a 250k contract to a IMP RT. Just the reality.
  8. Thing is with Harris, is that he is an interception machine if he is pressured and he will be pressured. However, he has shown some fragility the past few years so I don't expect the Riders get a whole season from him.
  9. Yep. Godber is average at best, Ferland is a disaster, and Blake won't get past game 2 and will be below average at best even if he does. His sister asked us too. She needed a break. Nothing has changed. We know how to recruit unlike teams that play in a big rectangular province. Therefore, moving on from players while maintaining a championship calibre team is a lot easier for us. Having said that, BO is back and is going to truck you guys while we hold the one dimensional Oulette to 35 yards on 10 carries.
  10. Migs is by far the densest. Even his own fan base thinks so.
  11. North end of Winnipeg would be the nice section of Regina.
  12. We will finish 5-6 wins ahead of you.....AGAIN....and you will still not shut your pie hole....AGAIN....Oh Migs you never learn. I've never seen a fan more dense than you.
  13. That award was a result of Paddy Neufeld covering his ass all year last year. He will find it very uncomfortable playing next to the absolute most garbage interior OL in the CFL for many years now.
  14. Yoshi is grossly overpaid, the rest are as you say....no name knockoffs of the real mccoy that we have.
  15. Yea....BO is not just a ratio breaker is an MOP level ratio breaker. Oulette is your slightly above average run of the mill IMP back that is a dime a dozen. I suppose parts of Winnipeg are comparable to Regina, like the North end for instance.
  16. Arguably best 2 IMP receivers. Schoen and Lawler are exceptional.
  17. Oulette at 160k is fair not a great deal by any means. He doesn't hold a candle to BO. That is probably the best move we could have made.
  18. I agree to some extent. Oulette is a good RB.
  19. Most of the guys recruited to the CFL are coming for a chance to continue their NFL dream down a different road. I don't believe for one second that any great number of CFL players are coming here for an easy pay cheque because it beats a 9-5. Our starting salary is not a lot, guys on the PR are making bupkus compared to a gas jockey where they come from. They are here because they love the game, want to continue playing, and if anyone thinks that winning doesn't help feed that they are out to lunch. Guys are vetted very carefully, and maybe some guys get an invite to TC with attitudes like Mike has suggested they won't play for longer than a heart beat in our league without a desire to either prove themselves to the NFL or to win. That's just fact.
  20. Sure, there is the odd guy who just plays for the pay cheque but you are trying to sell me on guys coming to the CFL are doing so for the money? I agree on that. However, it's not like the guys chosen were barely passable as a starter. Sometimes, good even great players get left off.
  21. Sure there are some, but most of them are weeded out very quick. You don't play professional sports at the high levels without caring about winning unless you are uber talented.
  22. There were some that were questionable, but nothing really egregious.
  23. I can honestly say that over the years I have never met a player that thought of the playoffs or the Grey Cup as OT they didn't ask for. I've met a ton of former and current Bombers through coaching clinics etc. and to a man every single one of them want to hoist the Cup. If we have any guys like that on the Bombers I hope we cut them, but I highly doubt we do. Sounds more like these players gather in Regina.
  24. We are going to need these guys to take a big step forward. Definitely the potential is there, and that is probably why we don't re-sign Ricky and lowball JJ. Doesn't make Ricky or JJ bad players, we just like the guys nipping at their heels and their low cost to our SMS.
  25. Sure....and I'm sure a lot of players around the league were tired of Collaros getting the nod as well. I'm certainly not suggesting the CFLPA all star team is a perfect list, just that players don't get onto the team that didn't belong in the conversation. Not the players I have met over the years. They care..A LOT. Are there SOME players who just play for the pay cheque....sure. Most really wanna win very badly.
