  1. Yea, for the interior guys that's a little strange to get used to, but for the DEs it should be easily overcome. Pre-snap motion is something to get used to as well.
  2. I was giving them a bit of a free pass on Godber and Lanier, only because Godber's not ancient and still might be useful to them. However, Lanier is certainly not earning his cheque right now.
  3. The DL, in general, does not require the same kind of learning curve that some other positions do. It translates pretty well between American and Canadian football.
  4. That's too bad. I really hope they embrace the opportunity to do it right.
  5. I clearly did. I just do not support the research provided. If Klein is not of Metis heritage, then it sure is a slimy move to claim he is. I am not willing, based on what I know about aboriginal/Metis research into geneology, to jump to that conclusion based primarily on Canada census reports. You need to understand that in neither of the censuses provided in your article was Metis/half breed even an option. The only censuses prior to 1981 that a Metis citizen could identify as one is the 1870, 1901, and 1941 censuses. In all other censuses you were identified either by your mother tongue or as Indian and the descrimination and possible repercussions that came with that designation in Canada's cruel colonial system. The journalism was lazy in that article. If you are going to paint someone as a liar...GET IT RIGHT. The census "proof" is garbage, and David Chartrand's comments are for sure completely out of context to the MMF's position on how Metis citizenship should be applied. It's unfortunate the writer didn't fact check his article before his hatchet job.
  6. I hope he finds what he is looking for on his journey. Until then, he should be quiet about it. Many rightful Metis have lost their rights due to the definitions empowered under the Powell decision and INACs interference afterwards. I wonder if anyone asked David Chartrand about his thoughts on that, because I have spoken to him several times and the MMF vehemently disagrees with current government imposed restrictions on it's membership. Is Klein a slimeball? Maybe. Does this make him one? Not necessarily. A lot of people are currently fighting for their Metis rights against GOC census claims that misidentified hundreds/thousands of persons as French/English based on their mother tongue instead of their heritage. These censuses, particularly in the West, were absolutely atrocious. My wife's grandfather, who has a statue on his reserve outside the band office, for famously negotiating the creation of the registered trapline system in Manitoba. Because of the first 3 censuses of his life incorrectly identifying him as English, he is erroneously referred to in some Aboriginal history books as having the distinction of being the only known white chief of an "Indian" reserve. A complete farce.
  7. Good idea. I just hope the curriculum is something that is better than what we currently see in post secondary institutions.
  8. Definitely those are some of the core issues of crime rate. I think that enforcement requires and deserves all the dollars it gets, and is completely necessary as well. Systemic changes are slow, and take time to root. People deserve public safety in the meantime. No different than what the unions do on a regular basis in all elections. However, I would support a ban on all 3rd party advertising beginning 6 months from an election date. Just has to be fairly applied. Any group, union, etc violating would be subject to large fines. I'd love to see politics free of special interest groups at elections time.
  9. Yes,,,you are right....sorry got sucked into the vortex again.
  10. I agree. Most of our offensive struggles last game against them emanated from a very poor game plan imo. I am not sure what Buck saw that led him to believe we should attack them from deep drops in the pocket in a pretty vanilla scheme. Their DL was able to just tee off on that. More motion, more commitment early to different run looks and stretching the flats and we will widen them out. If we can keep their DEs from simply pinning their ears back and rushing every play it will give Stan and Yoshi the outside leverage they need to win the day. A couple good off tackle runs by Demski, McCrae, or Bailey or some dumps into the flats and we get the DEs widened out a bit.
  11. Lapo was very good tonight. He will get better. Definitely his niche.
  12. Jeffcoat is snake bitten for sure, hopefully he remains healthy. He has been outstanding since his return.
  13. If you were talking receiver, or even FT DE/DT you could be right. However, it is not hard to get even a raw rookie up to snuff enough to be a successful rotational DL. He can definitely help us this year.
  14. Yep..they stink
  15. The Riders O is a tire fire and wasn't scoring points with Harris either. OL is still a disaster. I really don't understand their roster moves this off-season. Pinning their hopes on a FA spree of Harris, Blake, and Johnson was such a huge gamble given their ages. As anyone with a peanut for a brain should have known they were likely to be injured. Only Micah remains..but he is out of gas by the end of 1Q.
  16. No they can't.
  17. The Bombers have to bring their A game but if they do I like their chances.
  18. Thought I was maybe reaching for reasons. Glad to see others noticed it too. Might be time to ratchet it up a bit again. Yea..with the exception of McCrae in Montreal we aren't seeing the Demski/Bailey/MccCrae sweeps as much. Could be why we are seeing more pressure off the edge.
  19. Maybe I am wrong but we seem to be using a lot less pre-snap motion than in past years. Am I alone thinking this? I will readily admit that this could be something that I am wrong about. Just seems that way to me.
  20. I hope he was working behind the scenes, his punishment was excessively harsh.
  21. I disagree, but not vehemently. your reasoning is sound. I just put more weight on our starters as they will always take 80% of the snaps. Our depth is certainly concerning though.
  22. Yea...2nd and longs are never a great situation. However, I will take 2nd half production over 1st half production any day of the week.
  23. Argos are definitely the class of the East. Are they the best team in the CFL? Hard to say. Other than the Lions, they haven't really played anyone good. Was a good victory against the Leos though despite Adams completely handing them the game. Might as well hand us the Grey Cup now then.
  24. For sure. In a perfect world we would have some replacements on the PR ripening on the vine for our aging guys but we would probably lose them at season's end anyway. I think no one really knows how Strev's mind clicks. He is one of a kind. That is what I was getting at. I was arguing against the notion that he must be an immediate starter or he will go elsewhere. I don't believe that to be true.
