  1. Yes, our roster management was not an issue last week. Our first half egg we laid was. When Edmonton took it to us in the first half, that wasn't on roster management either. The only time I think our roster management truly cost us was late in the game against Ottawa and only because the Bombers collectively decided the game was over and started playing completely half arsed and only woke up when the game was on the line and they were dogged out. We do not need Bennet for ratio reasons but we do have to dress a minimum number of NATs every week. Not saying that's a good reason, but Bennet over Haba is still a benefit roster wise. Wow...we are lucky to have won a game this year.
  2. Yea...wilting or being embarrassed is quite the hyperbole imo. Are there games we played poorly in stretches, lost focus etc.....yes...but really we only lost one game where we wilted and were embarrassed in. The other losses were simply not matching the other team's intensity at key moments of, or the beginning of the game. Saskatchewan didn't beat us last week because of anything they did, they beat us because we somehow didn't bring intensity to the LDC and by the time we found it we had pissed away the 1st half. You are right. We gotta put in 60 minutes. This is all highly and pretty easily fixable stuff tho. We are heading down the stretch with a highly veteran team, I can't imagine a circumstance in which this is something that lingers much longer. Some butts will be kicked that need kicking and this team will be ready. We wilted in one game, where we thought the game was in hand, we started poorly in 2 others losing one and making a massive comeback blowout victory. This isn't as bad as it seems. It's just not what we are used to seeing but like I said, the vets in the locker room will step up and by the end of the season we will be playing 60 minute football wire to wire. If we do that, I am not sure there is anyone that can beat us.
  3. The only team that has embarrassed us is BC. If beating Edmonton by 30 points, or losing the LDC in OT to Saskatchewan is embarrassing us, then you have a very strange definition of embarrassment. Teams lose, even really good teams lose, even Grey Cup champs lose, through the course of a season. You are standing on the edge of the cliff prematurely imo. And yes, I consider 8 out of 9 wins by two scores or more, 1st place in the West with a .750 winning % to be dominant. Go back and watch the 2021 season, we had similar problems playing for 60 minutes for the first 2/3 of the season but would put it together and win in dominating fashion in the 4th Q. That's been our MO for a few years now. Wear teams down. Now all of a sudden we are not as dominant as we used to be? We have a few more warts maybe, but this season's team is the most explosive and dangerous team we have fielded over the past few years imo. Once we clean up the inconsistency that we've been showing, and yes that's very fixable, this team is as good a Bomber team as we've had over the past few years.
  4. All I can assume at this point is that there is information that MOS has that we don't. MOS is not stupid, does not have his head up his ass, and has forgotten more about coaching football than any of us will ever know. We have the benefit of criticizing his moves in a bubble without access to the whole picture. I wish he would explain his reasoning once in a while because we would likely all have "aha" moments after and learn something but he keeps the locker room in the locker room. C'est la vie. From the outside looking in some of his roster choices are hard to logically explain. I have to assume that their are reasons for them that we are not, and never will be, privy too.
  5. Perhaps negotiations for next year are beginning this weekend.
  6. ....and sign a new contract...jk....but that would be sweet. Seriously tho, doesn't surprise me...Banjo Bowl and a guy with Blue Bomber blood running through his veins seem like a no brainer to me.
  7. Anyone with some significant return experience. Hamilton, Montreal, and BC all released returners out of camp that had looked pretty decent in TC. Their names are escaping me right now but I remember watching the pre-season games and thinking these kids might stick. I will readily admit that I value the return game very highly, probably more than most average football fans, so maybe I am overstating the significance of it but I really feel that this was the Bombers biggest roster management failure this year.
  8. Excuses nearly every week? We are 9-3 and only one victory came down to the wire. Yes we lost to two bad teams and that it appears focus is an issue more often this season.....but excuses every week? Not sure what you are watching. I have watched several, in fact the majority of our games, where we have been dominant on the scoreboard....you know...where it matters. Lucky to win against Calgary with our 2nd string QB making his first start of the season? Lucky to beat Edmonton after giving up a big lead and then going on to cream them by over 20 points? That's not luck. Consistency has been an issue this season, no doubt about it. However, to say we are lucky to win is not correct. We are a highly skilled team that is able to win even when we have consistently been slow getting into games and too cocky in one game to close it out. Our problem this year, isn't skill, isn't roster management, isn't an aging core... it is not going into every game in the right frame of mind competitively and not consistently playing a full 60 minutes of football. Before you say that is a function of roster management I will remind you that most of our troubles in this regard have come in the first half of games long before roster management would create an impact on it.
  9. I don't even mind that they gave McCrae and Parker a chance. They just didn't hedge their bets at all by bringing in someone on the PR and therefore the McCrae/Parker experiment was far too long. Also, both Parker and McCrae sucked at PR in camp. Not sure why they thought they would suddenly be able to pull it off now.
  10. They did not avoid the 3 play rule. Luckily we only had one offensive play left in that series.
  11. 1.) Last week is now 7 weeks after the injury. 2.) We have not had good returning in 7 weeks. If this happened a week or two ago I wouldn't balk at this, but nearly two months has elapsed. The return game is too important in the CFL to bang our heads against a brick wall that long. That would be the point I was trying to get across. Grant might be ready next week, or in October....however, the second he went down and we knew it was more than a minor injury that would keep him out a week, an airlift of returners should have begun.
  12. Very disappointed in the news on Grant. We really need him but this was obviously a long term injury. I am super annoyed that we waited until this week to get a returner. The Bombers must have known the severity of his injury weeks ago.
  13. Smart move to not appeal...or basic human self preservation instinct kicking into his 2 cent brain? He saw the look in Yoshi's eyes. I believe the latter because after he showed his intelligence level Sunday I am not willing to give him credit for a good decision of any kind.
  14. Lol..true..forgot that.
  15. This is so horribly inaccurate I am at a loss for words. You think that our guys are not feared, or that machismo and violence is a show of pride in oneself? Are you Craig Dickenson? C'mon....tell the truth. Last year a player went after another player in retaliation for a cheap shot on his team mate. He no longer plays in the CFL and the result completely derailed their entire season and made them the laughing stock of the CFL. Is that you Marino?
  16. We are 9-3 and all but two victories have come by 2 score of more margins. We are currently on pace for a 13 win season and first place finish. We have DEFINITELY been dominant in a lot of games this season. Our margins of victory average higher than the 2021 season where no one can deny we would be perceived as a dominant team. The only difference this year is that we have let a couple more games go then we normally would have in past years. That's not on talent imo. It would be very difficult to call the loss to Ottawa anything more than us checking out early, the BC loss we simply did not prepare and come in focused, and last week we did not respect the fact that the RIders were playing their Grey Cup game and we treated it as just another game.
  17. Mathematical equations are not the problem. Your application of them is. 5% of 0 is not greater than 100% of any small number. Your logic is completely faulty, unless you are a casino owner....then you will sell that kind of logic HARD. You keep saying that a 5% chance of a big number is better than a 100% chance of a smaller number and that somehow people are stupid for not buying into that. That's the funny part, you are pulling out your thesaurus to defend an economic belief you have that is completely without merit. There is a reason teams don't go for 2 point converts more, or gamble on third and short more often when the outcome if successful is far better than the alternative.
  18. Yea, he could do better in roster management but I will take his win loss record over the past 5 years every day and twice on Sunday.
  19. Two reasons: 1. OL usually outweigh their counterparts particularly on the edges significantly and wear them down just due to the size. 2. DL have to play with speed. There is a crap load more running.
  20. Manlihood in football is measured by your performance on the field. Their are no wusses playing football. No one has anything to prove. They don't have to do so. It's a violent profession by nature, and just being on that field takes a lot of cohones.
  21. I have a rather elementary economic equation too. It's as old as time. "A bird in hand is worth two birds in the bush." Basically your logic is faulty because it doesn't factor in the very high chance that he earns nothing in the NFL this year. Also, he enormously decreases his chance of any further NFL looks the longer he goes without film. NFL scouts don't want to see 2022 film. I mean for 10 bucks I can buy a lottery ticket for 50 million dollars. By your reasoning I should spend my life savings on them because the reward of winning so vastly outweighs the cost. Problem is a little thing called odds, and Ford's odds of catching on in the NFL are minute. Would you quit your job that pays 40k, for a chance to apply for a job for 200k that will be interviewing 200 equally as able or better candidates than you and that the person hiring quite likely has a bias against your background resume?
  22. OL have long memories. The CFL probably did Robertson a favor by suspending him this week but they only bought him time.
  23. I want them to shitkick the RIders every time they play with every fibre of my being. Exactly. Robertson's number has been taken by Stan and Yoshi. He will get pancaked for this.
  24. Totally agree. You pick your shots...maybe if we were up by 30 at that time but I think the lack of retaliation is because the Bombers are extremely well coached in that regard, cognizant of the time of game and importance of not retaliating, and also very well coached to respond to stuff like this BETWEEN the whistles. I played and coached football a long time and their is dirty stuff that happens in the piles, and in the trenches literally every play. If OL were to retaliate every time one of their guys got a cheap shot their would be 5 ejections a game before the end of the 1st Q. Intelligent, well coached players know not to retaliate, not to lose their cool. That's half the battle for most of the guys in the trenches game in and game out. Composure. This isn't hockey where there is a code, and two guys can square off and duke it out for retribution. If one of our OL had retaliated and cost us the chance at the TD we would be lynching him on this forum right now because it would have been stupid.
  25. Parker and McCrae suck as returners. PERIOD. Full stop. I don't care who brings more value being dressed. Just as an example, Charles Nelson is sitting around doing bupkus, has probably stayed in shape and has familiarity with our STs.....and is a decent returner to boot.
