Total failure, but think of the mansions and yachts that were paid for. "In just a matter of days, the last U.S. soldiers will depart Bagram. They are leaving what probably everyone connected to the base, whether American or Afghan, considers a mixed legacy. “Bagram grew into such a massive military installation that, as with few other bases in Afghanistan and even Iraq, it came to symbolize and epitomize the phrase ‘mission creep’,” said Andrew Watkins, Afghanistan senior analyst for the Brussels-based International Crisis Group." https://apnews.com/article/europe-3555f9cb68f905fac3a1fee0af56ec95

thought you might enjoy this comment at reddit where this signing is discussed: "As a Saskatchewan resident and Roughriders fan I can say one thing which might surprise many here is that there’s basically no shot in hell he even sniffs the starting role unless there are two injuries in front of him. Cody Fajardo, who was a practice squad guy for the Raiders in 2015 after being at the university of Nevada, Reno is the favourite to be CFL MVP. His backup Isaac Harker (Colorado school of mines) had an impressive rookie year and is the “QB of the future” lol. your daily chuckle brought to you by sask roughrider fans.

the land will be worthless without water. laura rance told me about this years ago. really sad. till a few years ago I lived in rural mb, near anola. got to know a few farmers. I recall recently no hay due to drought and small farmers taking their cattle to slaughter. of course price down. city people didnt know a thing about it. not sure they would care if they did. just the price at the store. very sad stuff. physically strongest person Ive ever met, was a farmer. I had a two horse trailer full of hay....small square bales, he wanted to make room for one last bale, one shove, he pushed the entire load forward ro make room by himself. holy crap. good luck to you this summer. hit 39 van island yesterday. record.

The Black teenager who recorded the now-infamous video of Derek Chauvin pressing his knee on George Floyd's neck for nearly 10 minutes last May is being hailed as a hero following the former Minneapolis police officer's conviction on murder and manslaughter charges. Darnella Frazier, who was 17 at the time, testified during the trial that she has spent nights apologizing to Floyd for "not doing more." When I look at George Floyd, I look at my dad, my brothers, my cousins, my uncles, because they are all Black," Frazier said from the witness stand. "I look at how that could have been one of them." https://www.npr.org/sections/trial-over-killing-of-george-floyd/2021/04/21/989480867/darnella-frazier-teen-who-filmed-floyds-murder-praised-for-making-verdict-possib

espn hired Mark Messier as hockey panelist. espn is going to substantially raise interest in hockey in the US I think. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/31702318/mark-messier-joins-espn-studio-analyst-nhl-coverage -

in Trump world, military people are "suckers". that bragging about paying for sex juvenile ass gaetz, is extended family. they care for the military people the same as they did for the cops guarding the capital. not one bit.

Bloomberg Green: "California endured a six-year drought that ended in 2017, one of the state’s longest and most severe dry spells. Experts warn of worse conditions in the state this summer. “We have never seen drought at the scale and the intensity that we see right now, and it is possible that this may be the baseline for the future,” Klein warns. Swain terms this process the aridification of the West—a complete shift in the region’s climate. “It is hard to call it drought anymore because it is a permanent state of being,” he says. “Things are moving in one direction rather than going back and forth.” looking like things are irreversible. still need action, but ...... waited too long. baby boomers will not be loved by their descendents.

"Nearly all COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. now are in people who weren’t vaccinated, a staggering demonstration of how effective the shots have been and an indication that deaths per day — now down to under 300 — could be practically zero if everyone eligible got the vaccine." associatedpress

"In the first period, Kucherov was cross-checked by New York Islandersdefenseman Scott Mayfield in front of referee Chris Lee, who didn't whistle a penalty on the play." Cross checking not a penalty in the NHL at this time. constant cross checking. all teams. this playoff hockey rules bit is childish. no idea where or when it started, but the league should end it. and why is chris lee still reffing.

how many places in the world can a person buy an uzi, and carry it around in a car. "Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was arrested and charged with the carrying of a concealed firearm in a vehicle Sunday night after police found an uzi in his Lamborghini truck, the Los Angeles Police Department tells Sports Illustrated. " lamborghini truck. 🤣
