Pennsylvania Republicans are lashing out at Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) after he became one of the Republicans who voted to convict former president Donald Trump for inciting an insurrection on the U.S. Capitol last month. “We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he was doing,” a GOP chair in Washington County, Dave Ball, told local CBS affiliate KDKA in an interview Monday. “We sent him there to represent us.” https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/pa-gop-lashes-out-at-toomey-conviction-vote-he-was-not-elected-to-do-the-right-thing

If you are a Canadian baseball or NBA fan, probably you are a blue jays or raptors fan. my brothnin law lives on van island, wears a raptors shirt. I dont get it, the raptors / bluejays dont give a shat about anyone outside of toronto, but.... who knows what fans think. I do not feel sorry for the lay offs..... people get laid off in this way every day. usually not much of an outcry when workers in other fields get the pink slip. not to mention small business owners. and, going into media, you must know you are one payday away from no job. if you want job security, dont be a media personality.

"For the tiny North Atlantic nation of Iceland, however, mackerel are a harbinger of ocean warming. Until about 2000, mackerel were a rare sight in Iceland, an island whose people have survived for centuries by fishing. But today they are one of the country’s most commercially important fish, both in terms of value and volume. In 2016, mackerel was the third largest catch for Iceland and its third-most-valuable fish, bringing in $103 million or 8 percent of the nation’s total catch value. “This mackerel story is maybe one of the most marked ones... demonstrating the changes taking place in the fish stock in the North Atlantic in recent years,” said Ólafur S. Ástþórsson, a scientist at Reykjavik’s Marine and Freshwater Research Institute (MFRI), which advises the Icelandic government on catch levels. Rising ocean temperatures have altered fish stocks around Iceland, with southern species migrating northwards and northern species shifting even further north, he told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Iceland has also seen 31 new species of fish in its waters since 1996, including blue sharks, flounder, megrims and black devil anglerfish," The waters around Iceland have warmed between 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in the last 20 years, said Hreiðar Þór Valtýsson, a professor at the Faculty of Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Akureyri. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-heatwave-iceland-fish-idUSKCN1BW02T

cardinals signed another qb who will be competition for him. The Arizona Cardinals now have three quarterbacks on the roster signed for 2021. Kyler Murray and backup Chris Streveler are already under contract for next season. They added a third on Thursday. The team announced the addition of Cole McDonald on a futures deal for the upcoming season. https://cardswire.usatoday.com/2021/02/04/cole-mcdonald-signs-futures-deal-arizona-cardinals/

Republican voters do not want democracy...... this is from a poll done in 2017 "Critics of President Trump have repeatedly warned of his potential to undermine American democracy. Among the concerns are his repeated assertions that he would have won the popular vote had 3 to 5 million “illegals” not voted in the 2016 election, a claim echoed by the head of a White House advisory committee on voter fraud. Claims of large-scale voter fraud are not true, but that has not stopped a substantial number of Republicans from believing them. But how far would Republicans be willing to follow the president to stop what they perceive as rampant fraud? Our recent survey suggests that the answer is quite far: About half of Republicans say they would support postponing the 2020 presidential election until the country can fix this problem." washington post critics were correct.and four years of the scumbag and friends is making this much worse.

probably the salad days of 24 hour a day sports talk radio and tv is ending. ESPN not doing well. NBC axed their sports radio channel a few weeks ago. fine with me. there was a time when radio programs had writers, live music, talented hosts and guests. there is none of that on canadian sports radio, not much of it on American either. expecting some jocks and a few others to off the cuff fill three hours of live air time with something interesting is nonsensical. can not be done. bye. will not miss it.

WASHINGTON — A man who authorities say is a leader of the far-right Oath Keepers militia group and helped to organize a ring of other extremists and led them in the attack last month at the U.S. Capitol has held a top-secret security clearance for decades and previously worked for the FBI, his attorney said Monday. Thomas Caldwell, who authorities believe holds a leadership role in the extremist group, worked as a section chief for the FBI from 2009 to 2010 after retiring from the Navy, his lawyer, Thomas Plofchan, wrote in a motion urging the judge to release him from jail while he awaits trial. time online. https://time.com/5937535/us-capitol-riot-fbi-oath-keepers/

Was the station losing money? paying three morning, the noon guy, and two afternoon guys plus support. not enough people listening I guess. just sports all day always seemed a bit boring to me.

chiefs O line backups, sure, but they made to the final, and were considered unstoppable. give some credit to the bucs D, those guys were ready, and I was told the D coach changed their defence from man to man to double coverage on hill and kelce. devin white..... omg. dont know how much he weighs, but he ran a 4.4 40. and the bucs i saw all credited brady with showing them how to win. he probably could have won it with half a dozen teams. also, one of my fave players vikings antoine winfield, son wins superbowl. not saying willie jefferson is as good as pierre paul, but there is a strong resemblance.

Third, the demographic profile of the suspected Capitol rioters is different from that of past right-wing extremists. The average age of the arrestees we studied is 40. Two-thirds are 35 or older, and 40 percent are business owners or hold white-collar jobs. Unlike the stereotypical extremist, many of the alleged participants in the Capitol riot have a lot to lose. They work as CEOs, shop owners, doctors, lawyers, IT specialists, and accountants. Strikingly, court documents indicate that only 9 percent are unemployed. Of the earlier far-right-extremist suspects we studied, 61 percent were under 35, 25 percent were unemployed, and almost none worked in white-collar occupations. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/02/the-capitol-rioters-arent-like-other-extremists/617895/

Trump is not capable of composing a letter of that length. There was a court decision in the states ten or so years ago, that there is no legal obligation to be truthful in advertising. can not find it to post here. they have some very odd law in the States.
