  2. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/12/colorado-passes-1-billion-in-marijuana-state-revenue.html somebody should track burger sales in Colorado, since legalization.
  3. At this point, at least in Winnipeg, I don't recycle plastic anymore. Nobody knows where it goes, and chances are pretty good is it just ends up in the landfill, or worse, in the ocean. I just put it in the garbage bin that goes to the landfill. where it's buried for however long. Better than into the ocean. not to make light of this, but remember this if you are old enough.....
  4. Trump's last goofy story Worst liar ever. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-waves-single-sheet-paper-he-claims-holds-secret-mexico-n10 Good thing Americans don't "do" embarrassment.
  5. Do you remember this ? I remember at the time, they were concerned that the stock market would have to be closed. so they sacrificed these people's lives. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/insider-epa-lied-about-wtc-air/ I have had my eyes opened so much in the last twenty years.... The first real eye opener for me was an article in the Nation magazine about the origins (Dupont) of tetra ethyl leaded gas. It was my first realization of how cruel and greedy some of these people are. . https://www.thenation.com/article/secret-history-lead/ Alfred McCoy...... Book "The Politics of heroin in South East Asia" "Politics of Heroin documents CIA complicity and aid to the Southeast Asian opium/heroin trade. The book explained that most of the world's heroin was produced in the Golden Triangle and transported by the United States. It is transported in the planes, vehicles, and other conveyances supplied by the United States. The profit from the trade has been going into the pockets of some of our best friends in Southeast Asia. The charge concludes with the statement that the traffic is being carried on with the indifference if not the closed-eye compliance of some American officials, and there is no likelihood of its being shut down in the foreseeable future.[1] Air America, covertly owned and operated by the CIA, was used to transport the illicit drugs." Same thing happened with cocaine, and the Contras. Pretty hard to see the US government as the white knights they portray themselves as, after you become educated. got a litle carried away here.
  6. there is a lot of evidence to show that neither Donald Trump nor the Republican party care much about America's national security. They are well along a dismal path.
  7. Yes I agree that there are a few worthwhile programs on the CBC. But I even heard a "debate" on the program "ideas" about the climate change issue, featuring deniers. I think that's when I lost respect for the CBC. Anyway......😂
  8. apologies to the posters I forgot to mention. Not a reflections of your contributions!
  9. Interesting to see how Craig Dickensen, Steinhauer, and Claybrooks do this season. looked up Dickensen, been coaching for 19 years.
  10. MBB comment predictions: Northern Skunk will post a lot about Big Chris, (everyone is talking about Big Chris!) 17 to 85 will slam Lapo, Tracker will question O'Shea, I will post some stuff in Climate change thread, and US politics thread. I heart will talk about the Jets in the Bomber game chat. Tburg will be gloomy, but make some good points. Noeller will make some good football observations, and praise O'Shea to the skys. The experienced football guys will be good as usual. Mike will drop in to slam somebody, then leave for a few weeks. speedflex will cover the glory days. (wink) 1 Wpg 2. Calgary 3. BC 4. Edmonton 5. 11. Quote from an essay written in 2012 by Josh Hawley who is now a Senator for Missouri. The Senator for Missouri is calling for a Theocracy. (and supports Trump 😂) The East coast, West coast, and Northern states, should just let the Southern states secede.
  12. CBC. Too bad they can only write about others doing this, and won't do it themselves. worried about "advocacy" lol. This Rex Murphy article is from the CBC website. 2016. Nebulous catastrophe of future warming? 😂 Go Rex!!!! https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/rex-murphy-calgary-at-a-crossroads-city-allies-1.3440346 I stopped listening to the CBC quite a while ago. Because of this kind of thing.
  13. And I wonder, can they actually find someone worse than Trump? At this point, I say anything is possible in the USA. Republicans would vote for Whitey Bulger if he was their candidate. It bothers me to hear people in the media talking about Trump as though anything he said makes sense or is based in reality. That is truly sickening. Why doesn't someone ask him why Kim's man, the negotiator Trump posed with in N Korea, is now in a Prison camp? and the others, executed.
  14. for instance The Oil company did not stop the leak, the coast guard did. https://www.npr.org/2019/05/16/724164873/oil-spill-seeping-into-gulf-of-mexico-contained-after-14-years-coast-guard-says and also..... https://www.nola.com/news/gulf-oil-spill/2010/07/27000_abandoned_oil_and_gas_we.html
  15. Vestas I think the largest manufacturer, uses carbon fibre. https://www.compositesworld.com/articles/wind-turbine-blades-glass-vs-carbon-fiber. I admit I know nothing about the problem actually.
  16. Also, non expert opinion, Simonise didn't seem to have the knack for getting open. Also, I guess they did not want another "patiently waiting to realize potential" guy. They use to be criticzed a lot for that kind of thing.
  17. I think it's odd that Augustine had a tough time getting a CFL job, but glad the Bombers got him.
  18. where are these shown? not on bomber site or twitter, at least on my internets
  19. AKA chip ? and JB rules called it correctly. I am surprised about bennett. Hope he gets on somewhere good.
  20. https://www.solarpowerworldonline.com/2019/06/solar-support-growing-increasingly-bipartisan/ https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=39772 four right wings states, that have the most wind power. In other words, stop arguing about climate change, just plan and build more renewable. "climate change is not caused by burning fossil fuels, now excuse me I have to go cash my cheque from the wind turbine on my land, hope to get a few more"
  21. Immigration from central america..... why people flee "Honduras is one of the deadliest countries in the world and has one of the highest impunity rates. According to an analysis by InSight Crime, gang membership and activity have been on the rise in the past two decades, and the associated violence has hit the country’s urban areas the hardest. Extortion by gangs has forced many to flee in search of more security. Moreover, the Honduran police are both understaffed—in the northern district of San Pedro Sula, home to nearly 230,000 people and where well-known gangs like Barrio 18 and MS-13 operate, just 50 police officers watch over its 189 neighborhoods—and plagued by corruption and abuse. "The article is only a partial description of the reality here. It does nothing to iluminate the the fact that the US supported the 2009 coup of the leftist president and the installation of a corrupt regime "and" its illegal and fraudulent re election in 2017. Almost 3,000 deaths can be directly related to the theft of $335 million from the already underfunded health system during the current president's first term....funds that were used in his re election campagn, this even though re election is expressly prohibited by the constitution. Tens of thousands took to the streets to protest peacefully in 2017 but the protests were quashed by this brutal government using its own millitary, gassing, killling and "disappearing" its own citizens. Thats just one example.. There has been a 400% increase in military funding while in the entire time of Hernadez' presidency not one hospital has been built and not one school. Journalists and those that publicly oppose are disappeared. " https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/06/07/honduras-why-people-flee-photos-227087 edit....That was when Obama was Pres, and Hillary Clinton was secretary of state. They ignored pleas to do something about the coup. "As of 2014 the coup had weakened democratic institutions such, that along with corruption and police impunity, state security forces persecuted coup opponents, campesinos, indigenous protesters and others, and the crime rate increased massively. In this context more than 13,000 Honduran children crossed U.S. borders from October 2013 until May 2014, a 1272% increase compared to 2009.[117]"
