  1. The maps that show where the radiation from above ground tests in Nevada and Utah in the fifties and sixties fell, (ie who was exposed, how much their dose was) all end at the Canadian border.
  2. let's Hope so. About time too. A bit like benching Willy and putting in Nichols. Not that Dustin gives the appearance of caring much. "gone fishin". In restrospect, they might have been better off keeping ladd, and letting buf go.
  3. He probably owns a money losing coal mine.
  4. Chip Cox, John Bowman, K. Hiebert. I wonder if Drew Willy will be in the CFL next season.
  5. one of the montreal db reminds me of roc What are the odds of a sideline meltdown? wonder how many more seasons reilly can survive. looks pretty beaten up.
  6. defence played well against Edmonton.
  7. according to wikipedia the exact of opposite of silver spoon trump. no wonder Corker dislikes silver spoon.
  8. how do you motivate players that don't care and can't be fired/demoted? It must drive the ones that do care nuts. Guys like Wheeler. Same problem as basketball. Players taking games/weeks/months off no cut contracts. Maybe That's why this team is better end of season, they bring up some Moose guys that want to make the NHL, they bust their ass, and suddenly the team starts winning. You do not see this very often in pro football.
  9. Calgary losing the grey cup last season has to be one of the all time CFL chokes.
  10. same here. great to see a Canadian QB do well. also, LaFrance is turning out to be a good running back.
  11. our good friend the US used planes to spray wpg, and Alberta with poison in the fifties. makes you wonder about the people who worry about chem trails. maybe they're not nuts. http://nationalpost.com/news/canada/u-s-secretly-tested-carcinogen-in-western-canada-during-the-cold-war-researcher-discovers
  12. meanwhile Goldman Sachs, investment Bank says “Numerous key markets have reached an inflection point where renewables will have become the cheapest form of new power generation by 2020, a dynamic we see spreading to nearly every country we cover,” says Stephen Byrd, who leads coverage of North American power and utilities and clean energy industries, and has been watching developments in this sector for the past several decades." This seismic shift toward renewable power will have significant effects on the performance and profit of the global power industry. “Utilities with deregulated power plants, which must compete to sell power, generally will experience greater upside if they are leaders in renewable energy development, and additional downside if they own large fleets of fossil and nuclear power plants in competitive markets with cheap renewable energy,” Byrd says." https://www.morganstanley.com/ideas/solar-wind-renewable-energy-utilities going to be a moo point very soon.
  13. hey comeon now... they were improving each season! 30th to 27th !
  14. Catalan indendence thing reminds me of our brush with it. Except that we handled it so well. Didn't arrest the pro independence people, didn't send in riot police, let the vote proceed. interesting hearing the same things we heard, big corporations are going to leave the region if they separate, cause they need to stay inside the EU. etc. Spain has serious authoritarian roots, that linger on. King of Saudi Arabia just wrapping up meeting Putin. Made an arms deal amongst other things. anyone think that USA/Canada/Germany will put sanctions on Saudi? . I think this is a big deal that is being ignored. World is starting to turn away from Trump led US. It's an undependable, unreliable wack job country now. No way of knowing what the idiot will say or do next. not to mention he's been attacking US allies since he was elected.
  15. And they are not standing still as far as bringing players in goes. They just signed 6 guys.
  16. I don't know. your probably right.
  17. At this point, it looks to me like Hurl is just much too slow to play linebacker in the CFL. He brings all the disadavantages of a big, slow, 240 lb linebacker, and none of the advantages. he's easily blocked, and not a hard hitter. It looked like they had three different players at the position, Hurl, Knox, and Briggs . Defence might be better when they have this fixed.
  18. It would be good to see Flandersssss rip off a long run or two.
  19. the Bombers checklist ; pending : goodbye to "not developing a quarterback". Great interview with Kevin O /Mike Moreale this am. discussed O'Shea for a minute, since they are probably pretty good friends.
  20. Also, the Bundy standoff. Pointing rifles at Federal police. Not called terrorism. It was done by white guys with cowboy hats and flags. Now that I think of it, at first some media were calling the Bundy loons heroes.
  21. Articles that agree with "My viewpoint" Thanks for the compliment. wish I was that smart. The idea that releasing certain substances into the atmosphere would result in warming of the planet was established in the 19th century, has been confirmed repeatedly, and was uncontroversial, until fossil fuel corps realized, that this could affect their bottom line. Suddenly, it was "unproved" lol. scientific American (1959 article) and also including Aramco (saudi arabia) I also agree, that it does not matter what I post, who from, when, where why. People who are by now, unconvinced, will never be. The evidence is overwhelming, and is acknowledged by oil companies. apparently they are easily fooled too. done with this.
  22. in the last year or two, I heard a panel discussion of the flooding of Calgary, they had on various people who had expertise on different aspects of it. I think the guests were all from Alberta. At one point, one of the panelists was talking about the causes of the flooding, and he was about to say the words "climate change......" you could almost hear the alarm/internal censor going off; luckily, he was able to choke off saying the phrase; I don't blame him, could cost you your job in some places. So, no discussion of climate change role in the flooding of Calgary. lol.
  23. Wideleft here's an article about an ff industry funded scientist. https://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/22/us/ties-to-corporate-cash-for-climate-change-researcher-Wei-Hock-Soon.html?_r=0 1.2 million dineros.
  24. I like this one "A Canadian climate change denial group has popped up in a U.S. coal giant's bankruptcy proceedings that have lifted the curtain on the funding of a sophisticated continent-wide marketing campaign designed to fool the public about how human activity is contributing to global warming. A document, nearly 1,000 pages long, lists the Calgary-based Friends of Science Society as one of the creditors expecting to get money from the once-mighty coal company, Peabody Energy. Climate scientists and environmentalists have long suspected that the so-called “Friends” group was a front for fossil fuel companies trying to block government action to reduce carbon pollution, but Friends of Science members always declined to reveal their source of funding." People who don't "believe" in the science, will be glad to know that they are in agreement with coast to coast am, overnight radio show, which does not accept climate science either. The show also have guests who discuss things like ghostly encounters, communicating with the dead, time travel, anti vaccine, alien visitations, crop circles.
  25. Thanks. I appreciate that. article you may be interested in ..... scientific American, that is very disturbing: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/climate-change-has-already-harmed-almost-half-of-all-mammals/ Generally, For me, I'm tired of posting links about climate change, for people that are quite clearly more than capable of finding the links/information for themselves, If their purpose is to educate themselves. Out there In the real world, there's no "debate" about this subject. None.
