And I remember when posters were excited because it was reported that one of the coaches, I think O'Shea, was asking the food service staff if the players were polite. I thought it was absurd, if it was true. Suitor said on the pregame on 1290 that the game should be fun for the players and that it isn't for the guys on the Bombers. We know most of them aren't getting rich playing for the Bombers. I think that our players could play with some excitement, but I expect it's not what the head coach wants. And so they don't. I suspect that this coaching staff, starting with O'Shea, takes the fun out of the game, for the players. No celebrating, no dancing, no interacting with the fans, none of that stuff is wanted on this team.

Does a blow out at home Thursday get MOS fired?

I hope people at the Bombers organisation read and pass around Mike's post. -
Coach Mike' Everything is' O'Shae

Complain that too many posts are mere opinions unsupported by facts, (complaining only about the opinions you don't like) and then pile on a new guy that has some facts, cause you don't like his opinion. Par for the course here. Probably more than half the posts are just complaints about some other person's posts. childish. -
Been thinking the same thing.... These players need to be allowed to have some fun..... It seems like that's been taken away. Maybe a bit too much "stiff upper lip" or maybe cadet training/good citizenship in the style that's been brought to the team. I read here quite a while ago that a coach was checking with the kitchen staff to see how the players behaved. dont know if that was true, if it was... sounds like a tone setter. They don't play in the CFL to get rich. Take the non money reward away from them, and there isn't much left.

Listened to the the John Hodge podcast re Calgary game.... they talked quite a bit about the 12 seconds choke at the end of the first half. According to them the Bombers had a time out available to be used. If that's correct..... that they had a time out, and didn't use it..... To me, that 12 second choke, (assuming they had a time out) into the third year of this group, is a strong indication that they do not have what it takes.

we can win the special teams. 3down nation. re BC beats Hamilton. "The one area Hamilton routinely dominates was one of their biggest downfalls against the Lions. Their cover units were atrocious, as BC gained big yards on punts and kickoffs all night. They averaged over 20 yards per punt return, 27.5 yards per kickoff return and had a 56-yard missed goal return. The less said about the kicking game the better, but Brett Maher was as bad in this game as any kicker I have ever seen. He was 2015 Lirim Hajrullahu bad." our special teams are good. Duffie going to break one soon. Medlock. good tackling.

Odds and Sods - Game 2 - Bombers at Stamps
Mark F replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
calgary touchdown pass 7.55 third quarter was undefendable, perfect pass, to a receiver running full speed , who makes an excellent grab. No team could stop that one. game was over after that. calgary had some crazy good catches in that game. Two for 14 points, that were plays of the year. -
when they got chungh all the posters were cracking opening the champagne. In fact after this years' draft there were celebrations of Walter's brilliance. Not saying who is right or wrong. I did read at riderforum that they think Neufeld isn't very good. same as some people here. I watched him play a bit, don't really have an opinion. Our O line is so huge I can't understand why they don't just run right at some of these defences. just keep pounding it. They blew Calgary back pretty good on a few running plays to the left side. I mean to say our O line is massive. and they are not big gut guys.

Very glad they got him, he should be really good, Jets need a player like him but I don't think he'll get the same amount of room (shown in that highlight video) in the NHL. He won't be left alone like that very often.

Which week will the Blue turn it around and win?
Mark F replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
right week, wrong year. 2016 3d down nation... game analysis v b.c. "In many years of watching the Ticats, I can remember few games where the team played this bad, especially in the recent past and especially since Kent Austin took over. This ranks up there with the 37-0 drubbing the Ticats took in Saskatchewan in 2013 as the worst of the Kent Austin era." the real season starts this Thursday! Go Blue! -
Pete Caroll (sp) is a another coach that isn't afraid to let the best player play. Maybe Chris Jones is the same, in that way. He's clearly not afraid to do things his own way. (I know, he's arrogant and some people here don't like him.) Not sure why people want to select coaches based on if they like them or not personally. I don't know if Kent Austin is someone I'd hang out with, but I'd be happy to have him as coach. Jones' record consists of a lot of wins.

Yeah it really is. Nobody wants to talk about all of the shortcomings. Everybody wants to have something to be excited about. It can be so entertaining. But the Bombers aren't even competitive. They are clearly the worst team in the league right now. With no realistic reason for thinking that's going to change. Problem for me is, it makes me lose interest in the league in general. I don't really want to follow any of the games, when the Bombers are so far from having any kind of chance.

Odds and Sods - Game 2 - Bombers at Stamps
Mark F replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think Willy is very athletic. There was a game last season, where he basically carried the team to a win, by himself. and part of it were some really nice runs, remember he deked a tackler out, and got a first down? and he took the usual pounding in that game. after the game media was expressing surprise at his athleticism, he was a bit annoyed by that. Mentioned being a state basketball all star. and I don't agree that Willy is no good... 2015 season.... "Blue Bombers quarterback Drew Willy has been named the No. 1 CFL player of the week The 28-year-old QB used his arm - and legs to lead the Bombers to a 23-13 win Thursday night against the BC Lions Willy, who was injured the week prior and was questionable as to whether he would even suit up against the Lions, threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns in completing 17 of 25 pass attempts. He also led the team in rushing, carrying the ball five times for 72 yards. It's the second weekly nod for Willy this season. His first came in Week 1 after a 30-26 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. I think he's a victim of being on a crap team that doesn't know what it's doing. No quarterback would want to come here.... quarterback graveyard. Right back to Kahari. I watched the game a second time. I saw exactly that. I was wondering why people kept saying "blitz happy allouettes" -
answer to original question appears to be yes It is too early.

Still waiting for the answer to this question, which I have asked a few times. Always gets ignored.

Wikipedia on reinbold shows this.... if correct, he had more experience than O'Shea. 1991–1993 BC Lions - WR and Special Teams Coach 1994 Las Vegas Posse 1995 Edmonton Eskimos (Defensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach) 1996 B.C. Lions (WR/ST Coach) 1996 Rhein Fire 1997–1998 Winnipeg Blue Bombers (HC)

Two or three years special teams coaching is probably not enough experience for a person to be a head coach. It Made no sense to me at the time it was done. So far, looks like it was not a good decision. Not a history person, but I expect it's the first time that's been done in the modern CFL. This team has enough good players to be better than it is. The players can't say what they think, but their performance, appearing to be lacking heart, shows something about what they think. Having played the game well isn't enough to make a good coach. Some good players are bad coaches, some bad players are good coaches.

Posters: Whats different this young season?
Mark F replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I watched the game a second time, slowed it down, hoping to see something..... posted a comment about the Offensive line yesterday, something I thought I saw...... (I don't know much, and don't pretend to... also the field of view is so small, don't know how people can see some of the things they say they saw) . It was an attempt to figure out what was going on on the O line. other than "so and so sucks" I was hoping somebody who knew more than me, would point out what was right or wrong about what I said. Lots of comments after mine, but no response to my question. Not sure what to make of that. I don't think the people complaining don't care about the team. The forum should be concerned when people can't be bothered to complain. ie.... how many people post (positive or negative) at the Argonauts fan forum? finally, I saw Willy miss two open guys at the end of the firs half, that would have been long gains, and maybe touchdowns. I Think he will pick that up. -
I watched the first half again.... the guys on the right side of the O line, 61 and to his right, seemed to be confused when Montreal had a lineman delay rushing, for a few seconds. Result, two o lineman blocking one d lineman, another d lineman unblocked. 55 was hanging back. sometimes I thought he was playing linebacker position and they rushed only three. Or maybe I'm missing something.
