  1. "Receiving options won’t be an issue for the Boatmen pivot. Rival-turned-teammate Brandon Banks signed with Toronto during free agency, he spent his first eight seasons in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 111 games with Hamilton, Banks totalled 422 catches for 5,678 yards and 44 touchdowns, earning CFL All-Star honours four times and was named 2019’s Most Outstanding Player. If Banks isn’t available, Bethel-Thompson will have another newcomer to target in Markeith Ambles. Ambles signed with Toronto during the off-season after spending the past three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. This past season with Calgary, Ambles averaged 12.7 yards per catch, pulling in 54 passes for 686 yards and three touchdowns. The third year receiver will look to provide his new team with a reliable set of hands and the ability to find open space downfield. If Bethel-Thompson is looking for an option he is more familiar with, it will likely be Kurleigh Gittens Jr. The third year Canadian receiver burst onto the scene for the Argos in 2021, catching 50 passes for 604 yards and four touchdowns. At the start of CFL free agency, Toronto addressed their ground game almost immediately with the signing of running back Andrew Harris. Harris, an 11-year veteran, holds the record for most rush yards by a Canadian running back and is just 339 yards away from reaching 10,000 in his career........... Als Jeshrun Antwi was called on in the absence of Stanback, he carried the ball seven times for 98 yards, including a 70-yard gain. According to the Als depth chart he is listed as the No.1 back entering Thursday’s matchup in Toronto. The absence of their star running back will certainly put more pressure on Adams to make plays with his arm in Week 2. However, if Antwi can mimic his stunning performance from Week 1, it will certainly help to relieve some of the pressure on the passing attack. Eugene Lewis was the Als top target in Week 1, catching four passes for 112 yards. Lewis will once again look to utilize his length and speed to expose an Argos secondary which surrendered 19 touchdowns through the air in 2021. Rookie Tyson Philpot was a welcome surprise on special teams in his regular season debut. He returned a pair of kickoffs for 63 yards and added 38 yards on five punt returns. The ability to set his team up with good field position to start drives will be critical in helping to reduce the pressure on the Montreal offence. Defensively for the Alouettes, it was defensive back Ardarius Pickett who made his presence felt in their Week 1 opener against the Stampeders. Pickett showed off his range in the defensive backfield, recording seven tackles an interception. cfl.ca Dinwiddie needs to get things done with those players on O.
  2. Example of Why collaros said that. 34 seconds in. https://youtu.be/IyZcr9Rznpk cfl should be ashamed.
  3. American ncaa rule Prohibited: "Launch — a player leaving his feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet Players are also prohibited from targeting and marking forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless player with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder." defenseless includes a player on the ground. good rules.
  4. More than inconsistent reffing. I dont think the league cares enough about concussions. League Seems to be more interested going four down, fiddling around with hashmarks and ratios, than taking care of player's brains. But the players union plays a part too. Dont appeal fines and suspensions for head hits. too many "old school" guys might have had numerous concussions and yet think they are fine, and its part of the game. B.S. Why didnt O shea pull collaros after that hit? The cfl is great but some things are handled badly.
  5. I was thinking about this..... recruited by Cruz. who better to have as a reliable candidate than somebody completely compromised as this woman is. She absolutely will vote exactly as told, to keep her high paying job, for which she has no qualifications whatsoever. America is Corrupt to the core. Oh no the intrepid mr garland is just building the case.😂
  6. CNN)Texans are cranking on the air conditioning this week amid an unusually early heat wave, setting new records for electricity demand in the state, which surpassed 75 gigawatts on Sunday and smashed the 2019 record. Texas grid operator ERCOT projects it could approach that peak again on Tuesday. But unlike previous extreme weather events in Texas which led to deadly blackouts, the grid is holding up remarkably well this week. Several experts told CNN that it's owed in large part to strong performances from wind and solar, which generated 27 gigawatts of electricity during Sunday's peak demand -- close to 40% of the total needed. Not only have renewables helped keep the power on during a scorching and early heatwave, they have also helped keep costs low. Prices for natural gas and coal are high amid a worldwide energy crunch, but renewables -- powered by the wind and sun -- have no fuel cost. "Because the price of wind and sunlight hasn't doubled in the past year like other resources, they are acting as a hedge against high fuel prices," said Joshua Rhodes, an energy researcher at UT Austin. https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/14/us/texas-energy-record-solar-wind-climate/index.html Repeat after me: "renewables have no fuel cost" State/old industry entanglement is now the main reason not going full bore into renewable energy.
  7. Demski
  8. I do... didnt know, just saw short game recap thanks very much.
  9. 1. I wish Tsn would make full game replays available. guess somehow they think that would cost them some subscriptions. probably about 11 seconds to actually do it. 2. their ios app is a bit quirky. 3. suitor and sideshow nielsen are annoying, but thats easy to deal with. Mute. other than that, glad to have reliable cfl games for twenty bucks a month. Good deal.
  10. Record points allowed by elks. "Saturday’s performance was record-setting for all the wrong reasons. Allowing 59 points is a new club high" edmon. Sun. Defensive guru stuff.
  11. During one of the games, probably season opener, Milt said Danny Maccioca wants Khari's job. Then he said "there. I said it" bad situation for Khari.
  12. Not sure, butI think Harris is better pass blocker than brady, augustine, miller.
  13. Yeah, billy bob whatsit with hat on backwards, singing a bit out if tune..... that what we need!
  14. Fajardo 67 yds passing first half.
  15. Game is barely worth watching
  16. Better for hamilton if he stays in
  17. Not many fans at the sask game. What up with that. 2 first downs total...lol. at least its fun watching faj bad passing.
  18. Watched the five minutes made available by tsn. 24 bombers blocking, overpowered, neufeld guy ran around him. Hope the Online gets better than that.
  19. any opinions on the O line play? Good, bad, indifferent? two good games to start the season.
  20. Pissed off at myself, had prukop, somebody laughed at me, changed it. never again ! 🤬
  21. When rider fans come to the games they always are on the west side. Better fit for them. At least suitor is annoying. ford is really good remedy for insomnia. Awful. on the other hand, ob post game was great, lots of energy.
  22. I think thats what the NFL did. It works. And I dont care if a ball carrier ducks his head into contact. piss around with hashmarks, four downs, ratio, and do nothing meaningful about this. I dont criticize the cfl much at all, but this is just stupid.
  23. New York city.... Jazz is not boring. These three guys are outstanding.
  24. There was a long silence, I was waiting for them to say something, then.. nothing. no idea why they would not comment. Afraid to criticize the officials I guess. great luck that schoen was not knocked out. Hope the league does something, or the next game will be the same or worse. Ottawa, the new dirty cfl team
