  1. I'll buy that. Still, why are we victim of so many plays with multiple errors that cost us lots but are unable to exploit other team's multiple error plays? How do we compare in errors per play to other teams? Better still, how do we correct this and how long should it take? Just asking.
  2. I will admit I don't have much of a clue what all that goes on in a sack but doing the maths if it takes 2 or 3 things to go wrong that would mean 10 to 15 things went wrong on sacks alone. When you add the times when enough went wrong that we couldn't get a yard or Harris ran up the backside of the linemen and it sure does not leave many plays that went all good. All I'm trying to say is at some point, which might not be too far off, the fans will start looking for blood and that is when the GM might get happy feet.
  3. I am not convinced Willy is the problem. He came here and was the player of the week twice at the beginning of the year. He started getting hit and his production went down. We were very unhappy when Glen was here and we ran him out of town only to wish we could have him back. Glen gets very nervous when he's hurried or sacked so he too would be like Willy after a while. Besides, he would be a very short term solution. I really do not think our Oline is as good right now as Coach Wylie would like us to believe. These players might be good but as a unit they are not so much. On one sack, Neufeld seemed to have been planted and when he did move it was only to push Jace who was trying to make block. The sack came off his side. Having said that I am hoping things will be much better this week.
  4. huh! so you guys thought you were upset about the loss? England lost to Iceland today and Danny Baker had a lot of choice words to say about it. I would post the links but none of then would be appropriate on this site. Google him. And this guy is a radio person.
  5. I would hope the coaches would replace him before the game is lost. Give Willy a fair chance to get it done but if it's not happening replace but don't wait until it's out of hand.
  6. That's what happens when you ask a grounds' keeper from Saskatchewan to groom the pitching mound. Ah, this thread was good therapy. Things are good again.
  7. Rich, the admin extraordinaire, was in negotiations with the Riders to merge the sites resulting in one that would be more competitive and attract greater revenue. While the Bomber fans replied with a single FU, the Riders are now finishing the 345th page of discussions on its forum. The point of contention is how to treat the easterly neighbours all of whom are not cousins.
  8. Is it true we were the only team in the league in 1990 and the Grey Cup was played between the offence and the defence?
  9. That might be the case but if you give up after one week it makes for a long summer followed by a longer winter. After getting over the loss I want to believe it will get better.
  10. Ok. I can wait another week. but... Fool me one shame on me, fool me 17 more times and you're in for a dump of **** on your lawn. Go for it guys. Good luck in Calgary.
  11. G.H. Bush: "read my lips, no new taxes".
  12. And the sad part is it seems it might keep happening until the Oline gels and no one knows what unit of measurement one would need to calculate when that will happen.
  13. So that we can recondition another one? How about taking care of the one we have?
  14. What would be so wrong as replacing him with a back up when he is really struggling? Surely he realizes things are not working for him and is able to take the opportunity to see things from a different angle. In the first half MOS wasted an opportunity to pull him if only for a few series to settle him down and see what he was missing when behind the line. All I know is Willy is not Willy any more and it just might be he has taken too many bad hits. He did show a lot of promise but good grief you have to feel sorry for all the nasty hits.
  15. He might be able to do it in 2 secs if he did not feel compelled to do the one second jig. The guy has feet that are way too happy.
  16. Like Bettman said last night:"Winnipeg, you're on the clock!".
  17. So Edmonton quickly withdrew the deal and offered a bag of chips for St. John, two number one and a second
  18. Wednesday = day to day Thursday = day to day Friday = day today
  19. Let me put it this way. I know a young man who teaches on a .5 basis. He is good at his calling but when he is called for an interview to get a full time position he just crumbles and fails the interview. I think it is unfair to compare Willy's oratorical qualities to his physical abilities. There are many very smart men who are unable to express themselves very well. You probably should have left the last sentence out all together.
  20. Hopefully get him to have lots of time to be really amazed how the cloud patterns look like. Can't see how we will not be the sack leaders this year.
  21. Ah man! Macho made the team. MOS just loves those Kuale type bears.
  22. With Willy 12-6 Without 6-12
  23. The two should not be mutually exclusive. As to communicating with fans I would guess most would have appreciated an answer. There might be 200 fans on this site who are definitely more knowledgeable than others. These make up less than 1% of the Bombers fan base. And yes, per a CFL mandate, an assistant coach will be made available to the media once a week. It's now part of their job.
  24. In the end the media were kind enough to Coach Wylie to not air the that portion of the interview. It's unfortunate he did not use that time to just educate the news reporter and fans who like the reporter did not know the answer. I'm assuming these interviews are held for the benefit of the fans. He has knowledge of the call and of later watching the film with a trained eye. Watching a play on TV I see a DE come clear past the tackle into Willy's face. I don't know Cotton was supposed to move over and take him on. Coach Wylie would know that. As far as I can see the tackle screwed up. It might be a good idea if management allows assistant coaches to be interviewed it helps them with some training to get past some instances where the questions might appear to be a personal attack. Some might say:"Good for Wylie for putting this joker in his place". But really, what was accomplished there? We saw a professional who is good at his job loose his composure and I fail to see how that is good for the Bombers. From someone who can use all of the coaches' explanations and your's too for that matter.
  25. I gather you don't go on their site and read what they have to say about our team, our fans and our city. I would be kind of good to see them go say 0-4 to start the season just knowing there's some guy back there who wants to throw up yet again. However, it's a fun thing. Fills in time when not much is happening.
