  1. Living in Calgary I spend a lot of time listening to The Fan 960. I enjoy the Flames talk but generally ignore any talk about the Stamps. But this week they were interviewing Justin Dunk (who I enjoy listening to his CFL analysis) and they asked him who the 2nd best team is in the CFL after the Stamps who of course are #1. The Fan guys were pimping the Riders as the #2 team but Dunk wasn't in agreement but at the same time didn't anoint the WBB's as the #2. If you were driving beside me as I was listening to this crap you would have seen me going ballistic while driving. I must have loo ked like an absolute maniac. I'll be sure to ask them on Monday who they think the #2 team is? I think we could also make an argument that the Stamps are #2 and the Bombers are #1.
  2. I can see Chris Jones mortgage the franchise to pry Franklin out of Edmonton. Something like1st rd draft picks for the next 2 years. He'll have to do something if Glenn is out for an extended time. Or are they willing to throw in the towel on the season and sign franklin when he becomes a FA in February?
  3. Interesting! Bombers lose last week and Bender was extremely active on twitter lambasting the Bombers over their loss to the Riders. This week we win and win big and he sends out one half hearted tweet. Guys a ****.
  4. HH goes to my wife who put up with my yelling and swearing last night and didn't once tell me to STFU. It must be love
  5. IIRC...the LDC game used to alternate between host cities. I'm talking way back but I'm pretty sure it was so.
  6. I've been watching the CFL for over 40 years and I haven't seen the "hands to the face" penalty called except for the past two seasons and it seems our OL have a difficult time keeping their paws off the helmet of the opposition.
  7. Osh finally out coaches the opposition coach. Some dumb decision by Campbell.
  8. In the end. If the offence executed the plays called in the 4th quarter. We win. Yes, Lapo went to a more conservative playbook but it would have been good enough to win the game. If the offence execute them.
  9. But incredibly when we had a chance to kill the clock. Lapo thinks its the 1st quarter and calls a high risk play to Washington who couldn't catch a cold last night. Classic Lapo
  10. Yeah I saw it but I had to go back and look at it again to make sure it was what it was. That'll cost him some of his game cheque.
  11. 1) The entire defence...not 1 player stood out in a bad way. A solid effort with good pressure on Ray and great run defence. 2) Dressler...I shudder to think what this offence would look like without him. Right now he's our only receiver that has stood out this year. Denny and Adam's have looked good at times but nothing like Dressler. 3) Medlock...nothing else to say. While the defence is coming together. The offence is still struggling and it wont be enough to win against some of the better teams. If the offence can gel then the team would be unstoppable. But if not we're looking at a 9-9 record at best. case in point. Less than 2 minutes left and your offence has the ball and needs to kill the clock. Good offences find a way to get it done. We gave them a chance to tie the game but thankfully the defence came up for us once again.
  12. Nah...I'm pretty lucky. She's good about it and I must admit I can get pretty obnoxious when the Bombers are losing.
  13. They've had enough time. This wasn't either of their first scouting jobs.
  14. You can't really hold the GM directly responsible for the recruitment of import players. However, the GM is the one who hired the scouting staff. McManus and Goveia are the ones directly responsible for recruitment. Now that being said it's game 2 and I'm not ready to throw anyone under the bus but if we had the same injuries on defence that the Stamps have. I think we'd be seriously under water.
  15. Well it's good to hear I have company. My wife left the house last night because of what she calls my juvenile behaviour of swearing and yelling at the TV. She's still a little pissed at me this morning but I'm sure it wont last too much longer.
  16. I think you cover some of the main reasons right there. Then you can add some others, like an offence that completely disappeared in the second half. A defence that turned to Jello. A returned that somehow doesn't know how to protect the ball when he knows he's going to get hit. A DB that lines up offside on a key play and nullifies one of the best goal line stands I've seen in my 40 years of watching football. Frustrated that MOS has to use a challenge on an obvious penalty and the refs completely missed. Anyway, a game that was there for the taking if not for mistakes and the disappearance of the offence in the second half.
  17. He's a proven returner who was a game changer when he was a returner in Saskatchewan. I'm not unhappy with our return game but it couldn't hurt to throw him in there every so often just to change it up.
  18. Trestman can take ?And turn it into a ?
  19. It's the Trestman effect. ?
  20. Roc Carmichael...sounds like a character from the Flintstones. Rod Black is sporting a ********* dreaming about him making the roster.
  21. Probably time to think about shutting this thread down. The CFL 2017 season is upon us.
  22. If not Ekakitie. Then who? I for one don't want to waste a #1 draft pick on the possibility that the player doesn't stick around in the NFL for 5 - 6 years. How many times on this site did posters say that Mulumba or Bilukidi will be in Blue & Gold next season? Still waiting and Bilukidi has retired. I don't want to play that waiting game. Ekakitie may not be a sexy pick but its the smart pick and I believe will pay off for many years to come. Football's back and I for one couldn't be happier.
  23. I have a Kelvin Anderson bobblehead doll
  24. Most teams ask their Asst's to commit to the next season by the end of January or sooner. Would the WBB's hold him back if he's offered a HC job? I doubt it. That's not how they operate. However, I think Lapo has a good thing going in Winnipeg and he knows it. Plus Toronto needs to make a big splash personnel wise and I don't think Lapo fits the bill. They need a big name who will bring back the crowds. That's why I think they'll through a ton of money at Trestman. To me it makes the most sense.
