  1. Is anyone else a little concerned that there hasn't been a announcement about Mike O'Shea's contract extension. I thought it would have been announced soon after the Grey Cup. Is there any possibility that he's being considered for the soon to be vacant job in Toronto? And would he be interested to go to a struggling organization who's future is tenuous?
  2. I see what you did there ? Well played my friend
  3. Agreed...but I'd like to see him prove himself that he's not a one hit wonder before we pay him that kind of money
  4. Makes sense...didn't know Nichols earned that much last year.
  5. sorry...that's the old banker coming out . In banking "m" stands for thousands. So $350m is $350,000. and $350mm is $35,000,000. I've been retired for over 2 years but old habits are hard to break.
  6. Steve Morley @SteveMorley62 .@garylawless just said on TSN, Nichols wants $450k a season and is going to free agency. Nichols response? Nichols - I am? ?‍?Well, we knew right from the start that something was up with the Bombers QB situation. I mean, 4-5 QBs and none of them signed? SNAP Hut one - Nichols is trolling for more money Hut two - the Bombers are holding fast Hut three - the Bombers are said to be in on that Franklin fellow, and there are draft picks involved. Ah, it must be close to off-season with all this buzz about.. Now I know this is rumour but at the sametime Lawless seems to be pretty connected and a reliable source. So, in one word this "scares" me. First off I don't think Nichols is worth $450m. It's truly his first year as a starter and yes he lead the team to the best record we've seen in a while but come on. He needs to follow up with another good year before he gets paid in the same postal code as Reilly and Mitchell. I know it's never going to happen but I'd like to see a 1 year contract at lets say $250m and then if he follows up with another strong season. By all means give him his $450m. This is going to get interesting and quite frankly I could see the Bombers let him walk if he doesn't lower his salary expectations.
  7. has anyone heard how many tickets have been sold now that we know who the GC participants will be? You've got to think there would be at least a couple of thousand Redblacks fans that would make the trip to Toronto.
  8. Wow...it never ceases to amaze me when I pop on here and read this type of crap. You want the guy who gave us a 1st round pick for Drew Willy? He also let Harris go and stayed with ol' man Ray. Barkers sheen has worn off and right now Walters is leap years ahead of him. Milanovich is a good coach but it was evident that even he showed his weakness when he had to play an not ready for prime time QB. So, not in a million years would I want that duo here.
  9. It sounds like Manny will be playing this Sunday. Good to hear!
  10. There are a few opportunities for Durant in the league but Winnipeg is definitely not one of them. Durant would be the appointed starter in Montreal and Toronto. If not the Riders. Durant will be wearing double blue or red, white and blue next year.
  11. My thoughts.... Its going to be tough to fire the DC for a team that won the turnover stat and did it quite handily. How can Walters keep this team together? There will be a few raises required this off season. It's going to take a sharp pencil. Have we found our #1 QB for the next few years? I believe we have but as always we still need to look hard and far for the next one. When will Miller announce that Walters has signed an extension and how long after that will O'Shea's extension be announced? I don't think Lapo is seriously considered for any HC openings this off season. I think it's well known that he can be a great OC but an average at best HC. Do we trade one of our 1st round pics? I think there's a good chance we do. And finally...why does Jim Bender hate the Bombers? Did Miller sleep with his wife? This guys an ass clown on Twitter after during and after games.
  12. This is a tough one to find a team to cheer for. I guess it comes to which coach I dislike the most. It used to be Austin but Maas has now taken over the crown. So I guess "GO CATS GO".
  13. If the offence doesn't turn the ball over. We win!!!!!! My concern is that the last couple of games has seen the offence uncharacteristically turn the ball over. That wasn't happening before.
  14. not what we need
  15. It was strange that Osh seemed to accommodate Medlock and Dressler in an attempt to reach their milestones but not the same for Harris. Don't care but it seemed strange to me.
  16. Love him or hate him. He's carved out a successful career as a CFL QB. And with the lack of QB talent in the CFL right now. He could probably play until he's 60.
  17. I'm sure the article was edited in some respect by Ed Tait but I love reading stuff like this and appreciate the intelligence of these guys which we rarely seem to see. It goes against the stories of NCAA guys that coast thru college and take these mickey mouse courses and come away with nothing useful.
  18. Even the best QB's don't make every throw. But Nichols managed the game perfectly and we fans have to come to accept that Nichols is a more conservative (small c) QB. But quite frankly that fits Lapo's offence just perfectly. I'll take a game manager who turns the ball over less than the alternative.
  19. We haven't yet but if both the Als and the Argos lose tomorrow. We're in!
  20. I wouldn't give Harris any kudos today. He ran well but he really needs to protect the ball in that situation vs. going for the extra yards. That could have lost the game for us right there. 1. Leggat 2. Nichols 3. The entire O-line HH. Coach O'Shea...outcoached Wally Buono today.
  21. The call could have gone either way but I don't think there was a definitive view that showed it was a fumble and because it was called "down by contact. It would have had to be very definitive to overturn the call. But I think the true issue here is how Harris handled the ball. At that time of the game I believe he was only thinking of himself and the yards vs. getting both hands on the ball and protecting it. We didn't really need the 1st down. But the worst thing that could have happened would have been a turnover.
