Oh my! We're starting to sound like a bunch of Rider fans here. Johnson screwed up. He took a banned substance and now he must live with the consequences. The ones that are trying to justify it are sounding silly and somewhat rider fanish.

I've never been a huge fan of Madani. He's been tough on the team since he was let go years ago as the WBB's PR guy. But in most cases it's been warranted as the team was pretty bad. I've noticed over the past couple of years that his tone has changed and he's worked hard at becoming a serious journalist.

I read that and it gave me the shivers.

Many here would have sold their soul for Chris Jones. But you know there's something to be said for the level headed maybe boring coach like Mike O'Shea. History shows that the flamboyant coaches might have short term success but they fizzle out just as fast. I'll take a coach like Hufnagel, Buono, Riley or Trestman. These guys have proven longevity in coaching vs. guys like Higgins or Maciocca. Sure there's exceptions to both but overall I believe that history proves it. My fear always was that we let O'Shea go and he goes to another team and flourishes in to a great coach. I just believe that O'Shea and Walters are going to be the combo that ends the drought.

I wasn't going to post in this topic as I didn't trust myself not to lose it. So I'm not going to provide any opinion on this incident but will provide my outlook on todays society. When I was a kid (many years ago) I had a great respect and healthy fear of the police. Today in my post retirement career I work with the police service and I'm disturbed at todays society and the lack of respect we have for police officers. So if we show a lack of respect to law enforcement. Can you imagine how these same people would treat normal citizens. Especially if a large amount of alcohol is introduced in to the situation. To watch a 20 something female who is extremely intoxicated run at a police officer, jump on his back and start punching him in the head is something that will forever be stuck in my mind. And that's not the only example I've seen. When all was said and done this woman was a student at one of local universities and was out with her friends for a night of clubbing. I've seen what I would call normal law abiding people absolutely turn in to animals when alcohol is introduced. Then you add in the extra emotion and rage that sometimes comes with a sporting event. So I'm not surprised at all when I read about these things happening. The only way that you significantly curb this type of behaviour is to end the sale of alcohol at these events. However, we know that this isn't going to happen. What comes of this? I don't know and quite frankly I don't care. But some of you are really looking and grasping at any way to blame the mother and the kid.

If Glenn is pissed about coming back then he can stay in Mtl or go home to Detroit and hand out double/doubles. We got the prize we needed and that's Heath and the draft picks.

Wow...that was a great interview. What I get out of this, is that the players have 100% bought in to the coaches message.

Here's my Dieter Brock memory. First I have to be honest that Dieter Brock has been and will be one of my favourite WBB's. Dieter and Joe Pop will and always will be the top two WBB's in my heart. So, it was about this time of year and it must have been 1980 (I think). Some buddies and I were playing football in the green space between Park Blvd in Tuxedo. All of a sudden a car stops and Dieter Brock walks out and says "how ya'll doin"? Well I almost fell over. My football hero was walking towards us and he had his hands out like he wanted the football. So my buddy flipped him the ball and said, "who wants to go long". One of my friends just started to run and Dieter through a perfect pass but of course he dropped it. He then spent about 20 minutes just throwing the ball around with one of us playing receiver and the other DB. He said he wouldn't throw too hard because our mom's would kill him if he hurt us. I caught two balls that day from him and eventhough he said he was taking some velocity off his throws. They still hurt like a *****. He would have stayed longer but he was meeting some guys for dinner and he couldn't be late or they'd make him pay. That's my Dieter Brock story and I haven't told it for probably 20 years or more. Great guy, great football player and one of my football heros.

I was at that game and I cant believe it was 40 years ago. Holy crap I'm getting old. That was a good team, not a lot of stars just hard working lunch pail guys.

I love this. Great QB and nice guy. Sure he let under some controversial comments but that shouldn't diminish his on field contributions. Feel free to share your Dieter Brock memories.

I was at a wedding on the weekend and a friend of the groom lives in Regina and has been a corporate sponsor of the Riders for over 20 years. So in his words he's lived thru the best of times and the worst of times with this team. Not only is he a corporate sponsor but he also has 6 season tickets for his entire family. This is the first year that he's questioned if he wants his business associated with the Rider brand. The PR cheating and the Khalif Mitchell move is what he said has pushed him near the edge. He was a huge an of the Jones hiring but his arrogance has him wondering if he's the right guy for the job. He's a rider fan thru and thru and he'll never give up his season tickets but he's seriously thinking about continuing his corporate sponsorship. So I asked him if they fired Jones, would he continue with his sponsorship. He said absolutely.
