  1. The play was dead. Why can't Campbell be on the field? I thought it was only during the play that you have to be behind the sideline.
  2. I like how Chris Williams doesn't take any unnecessary contact and runs out of bounds. So what about the head shot against Duron Carter on the TD catch. I think Carter's an ass but that hit looked dirty to me.
  3. Somebody better tell Weston the games on Friday. But again with the slow starts that have been plaguing us. Maybe MOS should tell the team the games on Thursday.
  4. Because they couldn't place us in 9th.
  5. OK boys...start digging and get that filthy rag outta there. I wouldn't even wipe my ass with that thing.
  6. It's not a bad idea but it would be difficult to fit his contract in under the SMS. We'd have to cut both Bennet and Davis and possibly one other. Or take the bold step and cut Willy. Burris could play at least one more year after this season and maybe even one more if he stays healthy. The guy could probably do the Gordie Howe thing and play on the same team as one of his kids.
  7. Folklore says that a construction worker from Saskatchewan planted a Rider flag somewhere at IGF. We need to dig that thing up and not stop until we find that ******* flag and then burn it at Portage & Main. That's the only way were going to end the curse. #findthefkgflag
  8. Here is an excellent review of last nights game: https://bomberbuzz.com/2016/06/25/blue-review-preseason-holds-true-as-bombers-fall-flat-in-hope-opener/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter I found these two points to be interesting as it supports what many here have said. Firstly, Willy played like shat and he hasn't shown any progression from the day he arrived. Also, the O-line doesn't deserve the criticism for Willy's poor performance. 3. With that being said, Drew Willy needs to rebound in a huge way from now three consecutive poor showings. The third-year passer seems to be regressing in his development as a starting quarterback despite being in the phase where he should be peaking. I almost didn’t even recognize the 29-year-old out there last night. For the first time in his career, I genuinely thought Drew Willy looked scared in the pocket – and I’d usually never say such a thing about a professional football player. He repeatedly stared down his first read and panicked when it wasn’t there. Willy hesitatingly double-clutched several throws, as alarms seemed to be going off in his head the moment he touched the ball. Struggling to throw against pressure is nothing knew to Willy, though. But it was entirely surprising to see him miss so many throws. Willy over-threw three Bomber receivers deep in this game, and all three likely would have went for touchdowns. His wide-open over-throw on Ryan Smith’s corner route late in the fourth quarter would’ve made it a one-score game. (Willy did, fortunately, hit Darvin Adams deep on the next play to cut the deficit to 8 points). Knowing of what Willy is capable of from previous performances, it’s crucial that he re-gains his confidence, a mental element that was evidently lacking in this game and surely affected his accuracy. There’s absolutely still hope for the 29-year-old passer, but it won’t get any easier against the upcoming stout defenses he’s set to face. 8. All things considered, the Blue Bombers’ rough offensive line does not deserve much of the criticism that they will receive in the loss. Although the Bombers surrendered five sacks, really only Gabriel Knapton’s third quarter sack was at the fault of the offensive line. The remaining four can be attributed to Willy holding onto the ball for far too long, failing to recognize a halfback blitz from Jovon Johnson, and the fumbled snap late in the fourth quarter – the ultimate salt in the wound.
  9. Trevor Harris looks like Ricky Ray from a few years ago. Pinpoint passes and a calm demeanor in the pocket. Wow, he would look good in Blue & Gold. Desjardins looks like a freakin genious right now. Burris and Harris is like when we had Barnagel.
  10. A few times Mtl brought 7 - 8 rushers and willy did nothing to adjust the play. He still dropped back and tried to run the play called. That is a rookie thing. Not a qb that's been in the league as long as he has.
  11. I'm willing to give willy till game 9 to show me he can execute this offence. If not, it's time to move on.
  12. He better have been mad. I don't care if it's game 1 or 18. There was no excuse for a performance like that against a team like the Als.
  13. BBRT...you're getting mellow in your old age.
  14. Did anyone listen in? I'd love to know what O'Shea might have said.
  15. Fair enough and I truly hope I'm wrong and you're right.
  16. It does feel good to breathe again after holding my breath thru out the game last night waiting for a sign that the team had finally turned the corner.

  18. The doom and gloom comes from the fact that I didn't see one glimmer of hope that this offence is any better than last years. From Willy looking dazed and confused to an OC who hasn't learned to make mid game adjustments. Also a d-line that couldn't put any pressure on an o-line that's probably just marginally better than ours. I can't remember if it was Osh or someone else but they said that this years offence was away ahead of last years offence at the same time. I didn't see it. So, yes it was game 1 but I just needed to see that all the changes would have netted some improvement. Again, I didn't see it. Also, it looks like the search for a #1 QB is on again. How long will it take this time?
  19. Ed Tait reported: The Bombers will take a peek at Winnipeg-born receiver Derek Yachison later this week, following his release by the B.C. Lions. The Canadian Junior Football League’s outstanding offensive player in 2015 while with the Kamloops Broncos, Yachison just completed his second camp with the Lions. He is a product of Murdoch MacKay High School.
  20. It's what you told your parents you were holding for a friend.
  21. I'm surprised at all the love going on for Veltung. He wasn't spectacular while he was here and it sure sounded like he had just a mediocre camp. It's too bad we didn't pick up a guy like Matt Walters after he was released by the Stamps. I thought he performed quite well when filling in for Cornish.
  22. Doesn't Medlock have a history of missing games due to injury? Castillo is a great insurance policy or a valuable asset should a starting kicker/punter go down with injury. Either way I see him paying dividends.
  23. Sounds like Bluto and I share the same concerns about Willy. I wont comment on the locker room thing because that's just pure rumour. I'd rather stick to the facts and what I can see with my own eyes. I hope he can work thru it and maybe Buck can coach him up because I don't want to start this starting QB search all over again.
