What a load of crap. How do you uncover new coaches if you don't even give them a chance. If they deserve it of course. If everyone thought like you than we wouldn't have up an coming coaching talent like Jason Maas, Dave Dickenson or Marcus Brady. The same can be said for current coaches like John Hufnagel and Kent Austin. If Buck Pierce has the right aptitude and smarts. Why not? Same goes for Marcus Howell. A guy like Pierce has worked one on one with many different OC's over his college and pro career. I'm sure he's picked something up over those years. Let me fill some of that air in between your ears instead of acting like you knew what I was saying. Did I say that rookie coaches shouldn't get a chance? No. We'd run out of coaches if we didn't. What I was trying to say was the BOMBERS don't need a rookie coaches right now. You ***** about not getting a cup, yet you want to take the chance and give Pierce a shot. No thanks. I don't have the faith in him yet like you might, and I doubt he could do it. But I'm not saying that someday he won't be ready. If you haven't noticed, we haven't had a great deal of success in the last 10 years with rookie coaches taking the big roles. All of you whining about giving Buck a shot. If they did that, and he failed, all of you who said we should give him a chance would be the same people crying for him to get fired and "why did we ever hire him". Have none of you learned anything from all the rookie QB's we've thrown into the fray that have failed? You can't rush things, if you do, they'll more then likely blow up on you. Give him time and let him learn from someone other then a crappy OC. And no to Howell as well. I still stand on the fact that we need a non-rookie at OC right now. So you automatically would ignore all non experienced candidates? Yet many here have hard ons for Marcus Brady or Jason Maas. Weren't they rookie candidates when they took on their OC positions? I'm not on the hire "Buck" train. All I'm saying is if he was the best candidate. His lack of experience shouldn't preclude him from being a candidate for the job. I want the Bombers to hire the next Marcus Brady or Jason Maas. Not the next Bellefeuille or Lapolice. Also, why is it assume that Buck has learned everything he knows from Bellefeuille? I'm going out on a limb that most QB's would develop their offensive philosophies and coaching techniques from past OC's that they played for.

All these "dream" hires some of you want are under contract and they'd be lateral moves. The Argos, Cats and Esks all hired coaches that were unproven in their current position. Why is it OK for them and not us? If the WBB's do it. It's being cheap. If other teams do it. It's being creative.

You can't be serious with this post. He kept 2 people on that he knew couldn't do the job, so that he could have them around to fire , to save his job? There is no list. At least one that were aware of, so you don't know if other team's coordinators are, or aren't, on this list/no list. You seriously think that he'd still be around now if he'd fired Tracey and MB last year and still had a similar record? The other alternative is that he actually thought those two coordinators were good at their jobs, which brings his ability to tell good from bad into question. The list I'm talking about is the names that the fans and media have been putting together. PLAP, Buck, Khari, Howell, etc... Better choices would be Brady, Condell, Cortez. Guys who have options who we'd have to pay more and who would want to move to get a shot at a HC job and/or to get out from the shadow of good HC's. I doubt O'Shea would want to pick one of them though because they would all be better choices for the HC job too. Pay more. TBurgess, you realize what you just said? This is the Blue Bombers here. The words hire & pay more used in the same sentence are oxymorons when it comes to hiring coaches. We just don't do that kind of thing. You know iso. Unless you have full access to coaches salaries and that of other teams. How do you know that we don't pay market price for coaches. Your conjecture is unfounded unless you can back it up with proven numbers. When Wade was hired one of the first things he said was that he was going to significantly increase the football operations budget.

Westerman & Adams named West All-Stars
B-F-F-C replied to bigg jay's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well deserved. Let's strive for 6 all stars next season. -
I really don't understand the love for Lapo. Sure he looks smart on TSN but he's had an entire half of a ball game to think about what he's going to do and say. I never thought he was a good game manager when he was here and I don't know if he's any better now. Is he the worst option? Absolutely not, but there has to be better out there. And I don't mean Khari.

Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion

I'm Redblacks all the way. Anything to keep Kent Austin and his smug face out of the Grey Cup. -
You know what I noticed last night? The lack of penalties called by the refs. I guess it was a nothing game for them as well. I liked Davis. He throws a accurate ball with some serious zip on it. He also seems to get rid of the ball a bit quicker than Nicholls. He does however need to work on his sneaks. They were UGLY. That db, I think his name was Posey. He looked pretty good out there as well. I know some of you think that Hurl is improving but last night he was seriously manhandled. He's just not big or strong enough to play the MLB position. He's not even a good special teams guy. He adds nothing to the team other than his passport. Did anyone else wish one of our guys would have taken out that receiver from Toronto. I think his name was Bates. That thing he did (extended his arm and then dropped the ball) after every one of his catches was really pissing me off. I was really hoping one of our guys would have taken umbrage with it and showed him how to act like a pro. But again we don't have enough "Jerks" on this team. So another off season that's going to feel like an eternity. And we don't even have the draft to look forward too.

I actually had this game when I was a kid. It was awesome. So did I and it kept me amused for hours. It was always the Bombers against the Eskimos. And the Bombers always won. At least in my little mind they did.

Westerman Fined by CFL for 4th Time This Season
B-F-F-C replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Did they mention the direct hit to the head on Nicholls? Did they mention the late tackle after our player went out of bounds? I don't normally ***** about the refs but I really noticed some obvious missed calls last game. And what was worse was that the refs were looking directly at the infraction and didn't call a penalty. Oh well... -
We are definitely behind the rest of the league in that department but we don't have a GM/PP guy with extensive connections in the US like everyone else does. Our scouts are basically on their own to develop that system which will take more than a year to do if we stick it out. Goviea was supposed to be the guy with the US connections but so far I haven't seen the pay off.

I really don't think our current problems are related to "being cheap". Sure we've made poor decisions but I bet if you compare our budget to other teams that have had more success. I'd say they were pretty equal. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm still a MOS supporter and believe he's very close to breaking thru and becoming a good coach. Walter's? Well I'm indifferent on him. If he left it wouldn't be the end of the world and if he stays. It wouldn't be a terrible thing either. However, we need to shake up our scouting department. Goveia was billed as this 1st class birddog but since he's come here he's more of a Paris Hilton lap dog. I guess working with Jim Barker masked his short comings. Danny MacManus has been eerily quiet these days and his player finds have been underwhelming. He should go as well. On the offensive side of the ball I just see no reason to keep any of the coaches we have. Yes, that includes Buck Pierce and Marcus Howell. I know they're fan favourites but what have they done? Sure their talents may not show up because of a putrid offensive playbook and OC. But I would prefer to start with an entire clean slate next year. On defence. I like Hall and expect he'd be better with a couple more impact players on defence. The dline coach (cant remember his name) can go along with the offensive coaches. Sure Westerman's a all star but after that the dline has been anything but spectacular. I just don't want to see a complete gut job in the front office again. I don't believe it's required. All that's needed is a upgrade to those areas where we have not performed well on the field and of course that included recruitment.

I am a Tanqueray man but I was turned on to a small BC distillery called Victoria Spirits and they make a great gin called interestingly enough Victoria Gin. Very smooth and aromatic. I don't buy it all the time but on occasion when I want to treat myself. Makes a ******* great gin martini.

With those feathers on the shoulders it looks like they're Victoria Secret models. Or partaking a gay pride parade. Which there's nothing wrong with that.
-
I didn't think they were that bad. Now the als. Those are bad signature unis.
-
I still support MOS but it's getting tougher each and every game as |I watch a pretty good defence lay it on the line and a offence that can only properly execute a dozen or so plays per game. You cant win by continually crapping the bed for the first 50 minutes and then show some spark in the last 10. The fact that we were in position to tie is only because of the defence.

Marcel Bellefeuille - When does he get axed
B-F-F-C replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Nichols ability is unfortunately being masked by a crappy offensive system and at best an average receiving corps. Last night he threw the ball away way too often when unable to find an open receiver. Conversely, Burris always seemed to find an open receiver even on the run and when you thought for sure the play was doomed. Now are our receivers not coming back to the QB if he's scrambling or are they just not getting open? I don't mean to pick on Nick Moore but I noticed a few plays when Moore was not putting any effort in to his route. I saw the same thing from Denmark and Kohlert. With these new PI rules the advantage is to the receiver yet we still seem to be losing the battle. I still think Nichols is an above average QB but we'll never know for sure in this offence. Thoughts? Note: Liked the play of the O-line last night. -
Time to move on f sakes. Why are we arguing over a 4th string QB on a game day. We don't even have a game day thread started yet. As a wise woman one said: "Build a bridge and get over it".
