  2. That damn walters. He should be giving press conferences instead of negotiating contract extensions. Sorry...I had to say it.
  3. Some posters want the "MacTavish" press conference. Where Walters will go to the podium and announce that he has nothing to say. But it will appease a small number of posters who feel the bombers are managed under a cloak of secrecy.
  4. So what is it you'd like to hear from the team?
  5. I've read this over a few times and still trying to figure out if you're serious or does it reek of sarcasm?
  6. Charlie Taafe...is he still alive?
  7. The Lions relying on Lulay for next season seems a lot like us going into 2013 with Pierce. I would also argue that Buono signed Kevin Glenn because he was concerned about Lulay's durability. Somewhat but Glenn was signed when they found out that Lulay wouldn't be ready for the start of the season.
  8. John Hufnagel is the best GM in the league and has been for the last 3 - 4 years. Wally has been on the downside for the past couple of years now.
  9. Again...no one is arguing Wally's record as a GM/Coach and success. It was originally said that Wally so far in the post season has made moves that has improved his team and Walter's has done nothing. I argued that Walter's off season signings have been more impactful than Wally's firing and non signings. But everything Wally does is tinged with gold and everything Walter's does is just not good enough. IMO...Walter's has made some solid moves since the season ended. But many wont be happy until the firing of one or both the DC and OC is fired.
  10. Patience is what lies in a hospital bed. They're no damn good on a football field cause they got something wrong with them! Actually patients lie in hospital beds. Patience is what's needed when trying to rebuild a football team that has been seriously mismanaged for so many years.
  11. Huff wears the pants in that organization and no one else. This move is to show everyone that he's in charge and nothing is going to deviate him from his plan.
  12. Ya, I don't understand why Wally is doing what he's doing right now. He should be copying us, because you just know how envious he is of all the success our system has enjoyed over the past couple of decades. Some of you are so good at taking posts and cranking them around to fit your own agenda. Mine was directed at a few posters that feel that Wally's post 2014 season moves are gold compared to what the WBB's have done. So far Wally has fired his head coach and told 5 roster players to go look for new jobs.
  13. That damn Walter's is doing nothing but signing our own players. Wally's scorched earth approach is so much better That was for the impatient few. You know who you are
  14. Got to love Wally, he's a blur at this time of the year. While Walters is just reaching out tentatively for his first kiss, Wally has already done the job and is zipping up his fly. Guess the Bombers will settle for sloppy seconds or worse when it comes to choosing from available coordinators again. Could use a bit of Elvis's TCB around IGF. Are you serious? Negotiated extensions with Stoudemire, Anderson and Cotton. Wow...Wally announced he wont be bringing back 5 players from his 2014 roster. He's a freaking genius
  15. That move puzzled me at the time. Was it his off beat persona that teams didn't like? I thought the ability was there though. A puzzling coaching decision from 2009? You don't say! A player cut under curious circumstances in 2009? Surely an isolated case!
  16. And it looks like he was a late addition to the Cats as he was signed on June 24, 2014*. Note: All according to Wikipedia
  17. WBB's signed him to the PR on October 2, 2013 and then he signed with the Cowboys on November 18, 2013. He was subsequently released by the Cowboys on November 26, 2013.
  18. I was thinking the same thing but he's probably a casualty of the coaching change. I believe he ended the season on the Bombers PR which of course made him a free agent as soon as the season ended. Then came the coaching change and he probably fell between the cracks. But good on the Ticats for picking him up.
  19. Interesting. What did Bob say? I do know Penton is tight with Walters and Irving with Wade. I'm not going to try and repeat the exact wording because I don't remember but basically that when Saskatchewan makes their staff changes official, it could cause Winnipeg to explore the idea of bringing Cortez and/or Hall aboard. Interesting but what Bob said seems to be his opinion on what might happen where Penton's tweet seems to be confirming a discussion he had with someone within the WBB organization. But what I find more interesting is that Penton doesn't mention Etchevery. Why did the team go out of the way to say MB's safe but not Etchevery?
  20. That move puzzled me at the time. Was it his off beat persona that teams didn't like? I thought the ability was there though.
  21. But it rose to the surface as his career wore on... I still haven't forgiven him for showing up to the 07 Grey Cup hungover.
  22. But it rose to the surface as his career wore on...
  23. I'd be surprised if Braley is willing to payout Barker's contract and then hire someone else. The only way I see it is if maybe Milanovich takes over the GM duties. The Argos are operating on a shoestring budget and I doubt there's room in it for buyouts.
  24. Charles Roberts could get away with this the odd time but he still gave it his all on the field the next day. Grigsby needs to grow up and take his job as a football player seriously.
  25. Basically it just shows that you can't make that leap... 10% of the general population being gay has no bearing whatsoever on the percentage of gay athletes. What is the percentage of black people in the USA vs. the percentage of black people in the NBA? Doesn't correlate very closely does it? Or the percentage of black people in the NHL for that matter. No you can't make that leap in any reliable manner. So your point re: stats is correct. But the thing is, sexual orientation is different then race. You don't have a lot of black people in the NHL because there aren't a lot of black people tuned into it or growing up playing it. Or blacks playing lacrosse. Sexual orientation though is different. If you have a pulse, you could be gay. That's why the barriers are going to go down so fast. Thank you for saying this. Yes, there are more Afro-American people in the NFL than in the general population, but the reason for that can be clearly explained. Not so much for sexual orientation, but some people can't quite seem to grasp that. Explain it then We did. Pro TEAM sports is a social meat grinder. Until 10 years ago being called "gay" was a huge insult. Hell, probably still is in some locker rooms. What kid wants to go through that? So you figure skate, dive, run, do gymnastics, or do anything else where the entire culture isn't geared around being a "man." It's sad that 'being manly' is now considered bad. And we wonder why our society is collapsing under political correctness. Just because the media tells you most people believe in something is fine doesn't make it fact. Silent majority is just that...silent. They're not complainers and bleeding hearts. They keep their heads down, live well, and do their jobs. I believe that we're all intelligent enough that we don't need the media to tell as how to behave, think or create our own personal values. I'm not religious so I don't have a higher being telling me how to live and what is right and what is wrong. My morals and how I treat people were developed over many years and I guess I must also give some credit to my parents who imparted their liberal ideals on us. I live by the Golden Rule and it's done me quite well for 53 years.
