  1. Very pleased with the rumoured announcement. He's been my #1 choice all along. Way to go Kyle!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about this. I don't think the new coach is my first choice.
  3. Interesting tweet from Ed Tait. Ed Tait ‏@WFPEdTait 20m #Bombers Walters: looking for a leader, strong personality, somebody players want to play for, driven to succeed and same page with mgt. #bn This gets me excited.
  4. I may be the only one who's happy with the appointment. I never was interested in Higgins and quite frankly there weren't many other candidates out there that I believe have more to offer than Walters does. Yes it's a hunch but I feel good about the choice and I think he's the guy that will over time get us back to respectability. He appears to be level headed and not one to make knee jerk reactions. But the big question is. Will the fans give this new group the patience to get the job done? I know this rebuild has been in the works for a few years but the landscape has changed and it may take another 2 years to complete. I'm confident in the management team that he'll put in place team but I'm willing to be patient. First move...hire O'Shea as the head coach.
  5. Good luck to him but linebackers are plentiful in the US and I just can't see it. But I do wish him luck.
  6. I honestly don't care. As long as all the games are on TV, that's all that matters to me. Sportsnet doesn't have the same production quality as TSN but that will change going forward.
  7. So if we assume that it's between Khari and O'Shea. Which coach do you think will help in attracting free agents? I believe O'Shea will be the better draw. Again it's just my opinion but from what I've seen he really interact well with the players and it just seems that he'd well liked. Every time I see Khari on the sidelines he seems to be standing by himself and I don't remember seeing him coaching the players during the game. What do you guys think?
  8. Earth to Popp...that's what happens when you don't have AC behind centre. You're just as much to blame by ignoring AC's eventual retirement or long term injury.
  9. Pffffffffffft....it's not like Jones was coaching in the Grey Cup. The ban is with respect to making media announcements during Grey Cup week which could take attention away from the festivities. But I'm sure there's a lot of talk during that week between teams.
  10. O'Shea all the way!
  11. Me thinks Hervey may have just hired his eventual replacement.
  12. In the Sun today it speculated that Walters wants O'Shea and Miller would prefer Khari. We'll see who get's their wish?
  13. I like the move and I believe that Walter's will turn his detractors around. I believe he's just as qualified to as the other candidates out there.
  14. Higgins as coach...no way! I'd prefer a fresh face on the sidelines and that's why I chose O'Shea. It's just a feeling I have that he's going to be the next great coach in the CFL.
  15. Taman could never keep his mouth shut. I'm sure when Friesen quotes a CFL source, I'm sure it's Taman.
  16. Atomic...excellent post. The head coach doesn't necessarily have to be the best at X's O's but he does need to be a leader and have the respect of his players. Just O'Shea's sideline presence seems to show that he has the leadership qualities. But again my opinion is just based on what I can see and what I've seen from him since he entered the league. Never met him and never sat down with him and discussed his coaching philosophy.
  17. I blame it all on this new Surface keypad and the Brits who came up with a stupid word for the shitter
  18. O how I love it when these tidbits of information come out and it makes some posters on here loo pretty stupid. Yeah you know who you are. O'Shea has been one of my top candidates from Day 1. Is he better than Khari? Couldn't tell you but I like his sideline presence and his take no prisoners approach. Plus he seems to get the best out of his players.
  19. I was really hoping this site would be different but it appears that the same cranky anti management posters have just followed. I think if any of these supposed hires were made by another team you'd be complaining about how the WBB's missed out on the next big thing. I just wish some of you just stayed on the Jets site because they apparently can do no wrong.
  20. I'm getting old so I can't remember but wasn't Ritchie let go during the season or was he just not offered an extension?
  21. Looks like Popp is getting rid of the competition. I honestly thought Berry would be given consideration for the open HC position in Mtl. However, it sounds like Popp is fighting hard to remain as head coach and GM.
  22. Miller isn't hiring the head coach. He has said publicly that the new GM will be announced and that they will hire the head coach.
  23. Look at the absolute screw up hire made by Jim Popp, who many would agree is considered one of the best GM's in the league. It happens and sometimes if you have that past relationship with the candidate, it t least takes away the uncertainty of being able to work together. However, that doesn't override all the other attributes that the candidate brings to the table.
  24. Onyenegecha...good post. But using good ol' fashioned logic is lost on some posters. :) :)
  25. Also Kent Austin played with the Riders prior to his short but extremely career as HC with the Riders.
