Quite honestly I don't know why players talk crap about their ex team. You'd think that he'd be grateful that the WBB's gave him the opportunity to play football again and maybe give him another shot at the NFL.

Well I guarantee that if Walter's is the new GM. There's no one else in the league that understands the value of the Cdn depth more than he does. If he had final say in the draft we would have taken Edem 1st overall vs Mulumba. Who knows what other recommendations Mack ignored when it came to the draft.

Again...you're all missing the original point. What Makes John Murphy a better candidate than Kyle Walters? When was the last time John Murphy negotiated a trade?

As a coach in the CIS. They do all the recruiting of players and much of the scouting. But my point was more to what has John Murphy done that makes him a top candidate. He has yet to show that he can succeed as the top man making all the decisions. Today everything goes thru John Hufnagel first. A good example was Desjardins who was AGM under Jim Popp and then became the GM in Hamilton where he failed miserably. Most of the AGM's that many are raising as the next AGM, are working under a long time successful CFL GM's. So the question is. How will they do once they're on their own?

What has John Murphy done? Don't forget he has John Hufnagel calling the shots. Murphy is a great scout but can he take the next step? What has he done to prove to you he can? Or is it just your pure hatred of the current team that clouds your judgement? Kyle Walters is a smart guy who's worked in Canadian Football his entire career. He understands what's needed. Unlike Joe Mack.

Really! Adam Rita hasn't been a GM since 2010, Higgins not since 2008 and the others are non starters. Higgins would be the only one on the list that I would even give an interview to. If we're going to look at any current AGM, then we have to give the same consideration to Walters.

I think you're misinterpreting his comments. It was reported that Burke will remain the coach for the rest of the season. I've read or heard nothing where there was any type of commitment past this season.

Sure it's easy to throw out a bunch of names. But Would you really want any of these guys? I'd rather stick with Walters over any of those washed up GM's. There are a few AGM's out there but still unproven when it comes to running a team on their own.

So who do you realistically think the WBB's should pursue? You want an experienced GM. Well all the experienced GM's have jobs with long term contracts. So who? I guess the only one out there wold be Tom Higgins and quite frankly he's been out of the role for a few years. But honestly I still look at Higgins as still an unproven commodity as a GM. Tillman? Well he's probably more full of himself than Mack was.

On that particular play he doesn't need to. All he has to do is have possession of the ball as it crosses the goal line. If he caught the ball in the endzone and he didn't survive the impact on a bang-bang play, that's a different story. It was definitely TD.

Interesting words from Burke in todays Freep. I don't disagree but it sure sounds like Burke is defecting blame to anyone and everyone: I remember Cal Murphy saying that NI O-lineman are worth their weight in gold. I know it's a simplistic statement but it does demonstrate the mess we're in right now. The cupboards are bare and it could take up to a few years to really fix the problem. And free agency is going to be the first avenue that we'll need to aggressively pursue.

BC developed Khari Jones and Glenn was with the Riders for 3 years before he joined the Bombers. I'd like to know, when was the last time the Bombers recruited a QB and developed them in to a starting QB?

I had no issue with the article except for the premise of trading Henoc for Bo Levi. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Hufnagel isn't trading BLM for anybody. However, trading Henoc for a better QB prospect isn't a bad idea at all. It's easier to find a new MLB than it is to find a QB. Plus it doesn't have to be a NI as it gives the GM (whoever it might be) the entire off season to find another starting NI. Henoc might want to move east so he's closer to his family and quite frankly he's probably sick and tired of the circus we call the WBB's. I personally believe it's less than 50 % probability that he re-signs here. So in order to find a QB, I'd pull that trade off in order to improve the QB position which is something this team can't seem to develop from within. When was the last time the WBB's developed a starting QB? Honestly, I can't think of one. DO IT!

Exactly...the defence were putting everything on the line and the offence was showing no spark, no emotion. I'd be pissed too! Too bad Alex Hall and Bryant Turner couldn't play on both sides of the line. We'd have the best and nastiest o-line in the league.

I thought I read (somewhere but can't find it now) that the Bombers liked Sandro's height on his kick offs vs Palardy's low driving kicks. It gives the guys more time to get downfield.

And how do you know Walters is not ready? He may be more ready than you think he is...certainly can't do any worse at this point! Because we have a history of putting people in place who don't have the right skills or are not ready to assume the role. Let's not repeat history. As I said, Walter's is a great guy but this team can't take flyer's anymore. While it may not be the sexy pick, it's the one that must be taken in order to fix this ****** mess.
