The only credible guy right now could be available. Wade Miller has to call Mark Cohon and seek permission to speak with Tom Higgins about the open GM and HC position. I;m sure the league can operate without a head of officiating for a few months. The has to be someone in the league office who can assume he responsibilities Give him a 3 year contract at $400,000 a year and full reigns of the football operations. Walters is a great guy but he's just not ready to take on the job of the GM. Wade...get er done.

You're missing the point. No member of the board of directors should be meddling in day-to-day football or even business operations. Asper has shown in the past that he oversteps his boundaries as a board member and this report pretty much confirms that he has not learned his lesson. His role in the construction of the stadium is irrelevant. He is not the owner. He is not the CEO. He should not be involved in the day to day operation of the club. Unless he was asked to provide support due to his experience , business acumen and past work with the CFL BOG's. Sit in a meeting with David Asper and I will guarantee that your perception of him will change. Extremely bright and is very forward thinking. Izzy put Canwest in a very difficult position by growing to fast and taking on a lot of outside debt. Izzy was more of a cowboy when it came to business, David is the strategist. I speak from personal experiences, not so much with Izzy but I've seen David at work and I was impressed.

Why would the WBB's have contacted either Forde or O'Day yet. The search for a new GM has formally not started yet. Rod knows that but just wanted to stir the pot. The comment about Dunn and Asper is odd and quite frankly confusing. Quite honestly it's a form of Internet trolling and a useless piece of information unless he backs it up with some detail.

Creehan has to go... replace him with who?
B-F-F-C replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm personally not as down on Creehan as most of you are. I'd like to see what he can do for the rest of the season. -
I like his attitude and his perseverance. He's the kind of guy that would probably do anything to get more touches. Maybe he could be used on some end around plays where he can use his wheels. I know he's primarily a returner and receiver but I wonder if he could be used as a running back and spell off Simpson. If I was Crowton I'd design a half dozen plays specifically for Woods to get his hands on the ball. Thoughts?

So was DeAngelis worth the cost of a plane ticket and the hotel room for a week? NO

Not going there...

That would make a great shirt

These two guys are another chapter from the Mack legacy. They must be purged before we can move forward.

Honestly...I've never seen a team that is so poorly coached. Crowton is in over his head and Burke has that deer in the headlights look. I truly believe that the Bombers talent is on par with the Cats. But our weak link is coaching and until we get get some experienced and knowledgeable coaches on staff. I don't see anything improving with the team on field play. The FIRE Crowton watch is on and the clock is ticking. I'm not sure if firing Burke mid season will help but he's a dead man walking right now.

To quote Uncle Si "Your beards so stupid it takes it 2 hours to watch 60 minutes!" and "That's a FACT jack"

I honestly can't remember seeing this in Football. I've seen in hockey where a GM is let go and he becomes a special advisor but I can't say I've seen it in football. I also don't think it's good for team dynamics or the new head coach who's coming in.

Come on guys...this is a 1 - 5 team and we're questioning the moves? Many have been looking for Palardy to get an extra 10 yards on his kick offs. Maybe that's why Dickenson called up his good buddy
-
Wow...I haven't seen this type of confusion and mismanagement since the Ftroop days in Calgary. Ask iso_55, those were the darkest days in Stampeders history. Someone needs to take control and "control the message" . Or deal with it internally. But we can't have players quoted in the paper saying that ****. Even if they believe, they shouldn't be saying it to the media.
-
Sure but if we're going to make a move on a QB. It needs to be done before the expansion draft.
-
Then why was he dressed last night?

I'm afraid that in order to show the fan base that change is coming. The team will mortgage the future for a quick fix. The season is likely a write off (statistically it's not but realistically) so let's do it properly and take it slowly. The quick rash decision could hinder the team going forward. Sure you could pry Glenn from the Stamps for our next two 1st round draft pics. But the lasting effects will be felt for years.

Lots of empty seats at McGill this year.

Rod Pedersen Rumour: Tillman Courted By Bombers
B-F-F-C replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
First of all. There's no reason to fire Mack mid season. What benefit would that provide over doing it post season? At that time they can go after anyone they want. -
I believe you're missing my point. Dickenson, Huf and Millanovich are former QB's who have played the game and can provide insight that only a former CFL QB could provide. Sure Crowton has been a QB coach in the NFL but has never played the position and can only provide input from a coaches perspective, not a former QB. And yes, a solid oline helps as well.
-
It's all about coaching. Collaros has Millanovich to mentor him and Mitchell has both Dickenson and Hufnagel. Who does Goltz have? That's the difference.
-
So from what it seems, Mack has no option at fixing our QB problem. I still think that a trade which results in a good return is better than letting a QB go for free to the Red Blacks (ughh I hate that name).
