  1. Vultures picking at the carcass lol
  2. guess pouting?...about? If worried about the team just coasting in neutral and totally avoiding switching gears in any way is pouting....so be it....but thats exactly how teams fall off the top of their perch.....we have been kicked off the top of the mountain 3 times now...and if not for a lucky gust of wind would have been pushed off the top rung of the West too....we in no shape to be just standing pat and comfortable on past success...which is now way off in the distance whether anyone wants to believe it or not....that team and aura is loooooong gone and dead....as other teams load up....change....tweak...adapt...and get better
  3. as to why I can see Lapo back...just for that reason....and he knows basically 80% of the players here already as well....and all the coaches....and we know Smuggy loves his old continuity vibe
  4. couple of players I hope he does.....and not many he really could poach as they would all need a change in title.....Doesn't Rourkie boy just love Macsymick as well??....so unless Buck plans to take on the dual role I can't see him taking any of our offensive assistants...
  5. Costello would be the guy I wouldn't wanna lose.....The other offensive assistants easily replaceable and interchangeable....If need be I could see us adding a title to Costello like you mentioned....especially if we go with a new external hire for O.C And yeah with both Buck and Killam they need to have top rate coordinators....well really any HC should as thats what makes a great HC....His underlings....much like an Engineering office is only as good as it's engineering technologists and field guys......they do all the work and the P.Eng just stamps it I do hope we bring in new blood and ideas...we have gotten stale fast....and with new coaching bloodlines a lot of times comes ne blood with players following
  6. Good for Buck....He needs the chance to give it a whirl....Maybe with just managuing the game day...and not the play calling will be right up his alley now, as he seemed to falter a lot with in game adapting....let his CoOrds do that Same with Killam....not sure why many here...who really dont know much about the guy other than yip yappin here are so negatives,,,,guys a quality coach, and has gotten kudos by many current and former players a well....sucking in Cgy isn't a reflection on any of the assistants there...it falls right on HC and GM....OH...THEY THE SAME DUDE....imagine that AS for us....if we go this purported internal promotion thats literally taking a step back....same ol same ol...status quo....happy with just maintaining...I hate that is even being looked at....but typical and not shocking with the way the team and how certain aspects are ran....sadly The loss of Buck tho will be the best thing for Strev if he is retained...and from my understanding will be. We have the opportunity to infuse some fresh new blood/ideas/philosophies....dont drop the ball on that
  7. of the 3 he should be first to be in the ring,...that being Miller....as he was a player...and then team prez...and turned this turd around.....Osh certainly, and maybe along with Walter's together, tho I think for Kyle it may be a long shot....maybe yrs down the road he could tho
  8. appropriate pic....giving cup away.....lol
  9. Exactly...no different than here...and Killam has way more coaching experience And by all accounts I aware of...he's highly regarded and respected by players...not just ST slugs...so he gets his shot now...as long as he no Claybrooks he will be fine...as long as as he has good people around him
  10. Not sure what the former staff had for deals
  11. yeah....he's a good coach....but seems to have nary a clue about how to G.M
  12. dickie trying to save his arse and have nobody in house to take over his mess lol
  13. technically he wasnt fired....He was on final yr of his deal....maybe he declined re-upping or said he was moving on
  14. Him and Wallace sandwiching any center not named Kolo....with Big STan and Randolph on the ends.....and the best outta Eli...Neuf...Dobson if here to round it out for 2025...I could live with that as we groom a young draftee for 2026 and beyond
  15. for a scuffling team trying to reset their foundation...and get back to respecrability the important hires are the assistants and the coordinators....any HC who has lousy ones...will fail The HC they hire has to basically be respected, not an a-hole and have ability to lead and inspire...and most importantly...not a dumb idiot......check those boxes and if he can get quality assistants to follow him....he will be ok...as will the team Who were our co-ordinators and assistants in Osh's first 3..4 yrs?....bottom of the barrel rekindled crap....it was only in yr 4 when things were solidified...and stayed that way for years....we suddenly took off....
  16. Nor did Osh really when you think about it....we took a chance...and once he surrounded himself with quality Co-ordinators...things took off for him....Maybe that chance on Killam reaps same rewards...I know player love him.....and thats what many claim is the Osh factor Killam has had a lot more yrs behind him and experience...He has had some very good units under his watch, and didnt he at one point as well have more than just ST tiltle?...I may be thinking of someone else in that regard...but dude been in the game a long time and is still young...and worked under some good CFL football people
  17. Randolph is the intriguing one. For a guy who didn't have a lot of legit o-line work/experience coming into the yr he fared really well...especially while adapting to the Canadian game His has real good feet for the oline and obviously the athleticism seeing as he played primarily as a tight end....and from watching him this yr, and in practice he has had some real good coaching...or is really learningfrom Stan as he has awesome hand work....which will be huge on the outside He definitely has a good looking future and could be the LT after 2025.....Another season of grooming and learning is gonna be huge....and he if need be is already a top end guard
  18. yup...physically and athletically he has exctly what yu want inside...technique wise he needs grooming....as an oline guy he still young and his athleticism alone leads me to believe he can be coached up...I think more reps...and him not having to think to recognize things will help him out a lot too....coming with reps and growing pains....when he was at fault a lot of times looked more like he just wasnt in sync with others, and his recognition of stuff was a bit behind the others...I think time will sort that out for him
  19. Dobson definitely needs work for sure...he's improved but not sure what his ceiling is yet and if he's at or near it.....Worst case a good depth piece
  20. Eli is our best center option....but like @wbbfan said they seem to really like him at that 6th/jumbo/guard fill in guy who is versatile for us....and he has excelled there and is been a big part of our run success so no fault in that ...But we have just stood pat and status quo with Kolo....Why I dont know....maybe Osh liked the fact he was a 2 yr scrap heap reclamation that nobody wanted and liked his hard work ethic when he got here knowing it was his last shot...who knows but he is the weak link on the line and has affected a lot of the guards play....he's just not good enough...adequate for spot duty.....but we need better I hope we draft center specific at oline this yr.....or trade/FA pick up one....Ratio wise we can easily use an import at guard if we want and there are so many brute brawlers down south who can step right in and be a force it be an easy solution...and very SMS friendly too
  21. Definitely bring Neuf back....cant have too much experience and leadership on the oline....and he played well...was a walking wounded all yr, but when was healthy played well...better than well Dobson is a bit of mystery....got better as the yr went on and definitely still worth the time put into him....but dos still needs some work...I can see Wallace stealing his spot next yr actually. I would think 2025 will be the Big Stan final yr...so imperative we either sign his heir apparent this yr and put in Lofton's spot for now....tho Lofton as yr went on was very serviceable....and truly if ratio allows would like to find a RT to allow him...Wallace...Neuf and Randolph to battle it out for the 2 guards spots....and if an import takes a spot...work that ratio then....don't be tied to carved in stone ratio positions as it effects the roster elsewhere with not getting your best talent on the field....play your best wherever they fit. And we still have Eli and Kolo....whom I hope we move on from. Regardless of what we do in free-agency and draft....if that group is brought back we have a good starting point. We definitely tho need to construct our roster with real players outside the 24 starters....guys who can actually step in and play if need be....even tho Osh says they all number 1's anyone with half a brain knows thats utter BS...Our roster past the top 30...35 guys or so is a collection of pluggers and slugs....and shouldn't be...Change your draft philosophy toward picking best guys...and ones who project to possible starter, or at worst rotational rep guys....not just this ST only mentality we seemed to have favored.....But I guess when your GM and HC only have/had ST back grounds as coaches....maybe they don't have a keen eye for talent past that.....allow your assistants and Co-ordinators to coach em into real players
  22. I can see Ted and Danny wanting to perhaps move on as of late...the fruits of all their off-seson work seems to get bypassed for old....tired and sub par favorites.....personnel guys will only deal with that for so long
  23. priority guys before Jan I would guess could be Lawler...WJ....Neuf...I suspecting Holm too....Schoen with being hurt...and Strev can be massaged in a bit differently as both I doubt will be good to go first week....well wouldnt be wise....so once some of the bigger parts get signed they will know what they have to work with and what amounts they can figure to be off the books....
  24. 3 yrs I believe been the norm I'm also fine moving on from Ford if need be if he wants the moon.....He isnt vital to the ratio as we can easily start 7 guys plus the nationalized guy easily....and his 145...165k or slightly more would go much better served on a young Canadian Olineman if available in FA....or a guy like Ceresna or another difference making interior dlineman if they hit market Ford at entry level deal was a nice lil luxury....but moving forward prob not worth it.....especially if you need that spot for ratio your backup to him is gonna be a severe downgrade....big salary stuck there isn't the best bang for your buck especially when you can find unlimited import talent to play there in the U.S for half the price....we have no issues finding them.
