  1. did you seriously tho expect anything different from Osh?...I didnt
  2. who the eff is Hogan....or RB coach who has no experince doing this type of job at even a collegiate level???....and why would Osh say that it wont be a surprise? That is a huge surprise to me....i guess he meant by promoting from within I guess
  3. our defensive backfield is already solid with Holm..Bonds...Nichols.Parker..Griffin..Kelly..Bridges....and we have already signed some solid new prospects...dline and LB was the concern....LB may be okay...dline is worse no there's not....average talent maybe....legit difference maker's that automatically make your roster better are mostly gone...I not talking about receiver either...and no we didnt swap one for the other...we had both last yr...and again...Schoen is a bit of an unknown...he's not a sure thing to be ready right outta the gate...and if he is...may not be what he was for a good portion no ****....but whats the point plugging a gap with basically the same or worse than what you had....and who's to say it was an over pay or would have been....have basically seen no numbers for most theyguys who agreed....so we cant say that we passed because they cost too much...thats just speculating
  4. our mediocre talent got scooped up pretty quick tho.....even before the actual free agency...we kept Jake...and Scmeck...how do you see them as good?....there was over 200k right there to be used elswhere...sign them after thenfact..I sure they still be available Vaughters and WJ...Both over 31...they won't be super productive never getting a solid rotation...with quality guys...not parking Jake our at end like we did...we are weaker on the dline currently...and was a sore spot last yr...No other way to slice that one up
  5. who's left that fills a gaping need for us that was better than what we had?....
  6. yeah he's here....but so is Jake....and you know at the very best we can dream the reps will prob be split....which is just pathetically sad We down graded as we lost 2 young ends with experience...could they evolved more..maybe....maybe not...but we will never know...added an over 30 yr old end to go with our other over 30 yr old end...after that currently we have....nothing...Retained an additional yr older Jake...who will continue to get worse...Have Schmeck as the main backup...who has really showed nothing...he stays but the 2 ends dont..and he costs more....Let Fox walk....still have Woods and Adams...but see above re: Jake and Schmeck in the way for reps...and u know they will get them so yeah..we regressed bigtime on the dline...and we were no hell last yr
  7. I would have preferred him over you know who...has way more value......And yes Hollins and Dunbar have experience and we know they c play....but neither should have been a target....of the 2...Dunbar please...and I know we have some differing views but man I dont see the plan yet....Maybe it was a case of guys not wanting to come here too....watching from the outside last few yrs of what went on here via how Osh makes his roster and reps allocated and they said thanks...but no thanks....Of all the guys who have agreed to deals elsewhere...or re-upped...I have a hard time thinking we didnt approach any of them well must be a really low radar...as for where we needed bigtime help and the easy fix via free agency...theres just scrap heaping left.. like I said...we have allowed our roster to erode it's depth away....have had no forward thinking grooming anyone of worth....and have clung to an aged roster far too long...and now we are really in a pinch...we just may have to go with a real green team...we have done nothing in FA of any real marquee value other than getting Logan...and possibly Jones....for a desired destination thats pretty bad man
  8. we all better pray for that...as options are all gone now and hope he can continue what he did...and add more to it
  9. Ford tho really is a blessing to get away from....easily replaced at half the price or less.....Our real issue was Dline/end....LB....receiver...Oline As it is and looking at what's left to scrounge through...our receiving group will be weaker...our dline as well...got older...and weaker....We did grab a legit LB but missed out on a few others....oline hasnt been adressed....yet.....there are guys there but in all honesty other than at center we would have been okay with same group...or one of Wallace/Eli for Dobson's spot if he leaves....our main issue is at center but we already know Osh is gonna hand that job to Kolo regardless of how camp plays out. We just may be going into camp and season with a bunch of unknowns and yet to prove them selves guys...
  10. pretty much.....Not sure how/where we addressed the dline...If Vaughters is it...man we got schooled in FA....Nothing left now unless you wanna go Woody Barron...Oakman...Lanier....that Albright in Sask is intruiging but other than that now just a collection of scrubs...hope to hell this new scouting staff has it's game face on....as we need some legit talent that can play
  11. he is....not much else of any real value now other than him...Be just like us to miss out on all the guys that were options and bring in an aged Dionte Spencer....and trump it up as a solid signing
  12. yup....loss for sure....and we gonna be going into 2025 with a significantly weaker receiving group than last...regardless of who we sign "vet" wise in FA if we even do now seeing as Rhymes is headed to Cgy now...
  13. maybe Lapo has wisened up?...Lapo had him actually at the start playing QB so he knows he can do it...Buck never at all let him be a QB and the one game he started basically rode him into the dirt and it affected him all yr until he got hurt
  14. Yup...we cn go that route too...be very cost effective as well
  15. Wallace is gonna be that guy...just oozes mid 90's guard monster brawler....High hopes with that one
  16. yeah...good signing for u as your short yardage blew....Can't expect much more than that from him tho, but really thats all that specialist needs to do anyway
  17. he's a different player...more of a Sheed but better big play ability Hopefully Mitchell takes that step up now in the Lawleresque type role...he definately has the skills....better speed....His head wasnt in it in 2023....kinda turned the corner again last yr....if his head isnt into here....then he wont last into 2026
  18. yup...needs more seasoning to see if he can achieve upper teir...he not there yet...and a lot of times he definately was fumbling and bumbling around out there when he was opposite legit defenders....almost looked lost...and having Kolo beside him just amplified it
  19. yup...one nutjob has to mess it up....that being said....doesnt mean other will follow suit now with whats left
  20. My understanding was we had yes....a 2 yr deal for him at that price, but both parties were gonna wait to see his market price....and as it played out we prob would have bumped up to 240 but at this juncture in his career being prob his last lucrative deal he went for the financial benefit...and cant fault him for that...onward and upward
  21. ZC tho needs vets...and a guy he will trust...Rhymes would be that....and he has a knack for pulling in shittty balls...albeit at times on the cusp of OPI....But if he doing it for us...I'm fine with that....And ZC does throw a lot of shitttty balls in bad spots I think we should just Sign him...Bring back BOLO and be done on the reciever search....rely on scouting and the inevitable return of Wilson...he not gonna stick down south... That group would give us a nice big physical group with a lot of versatility....also have to assume we will see a lot of Logan...Especially with Lapo here...and If it Jackson...he will utilize the hell out of a explosive dude like that
  22. ZC definitely needs a guy to secure thos less than ideal passes to thrive...Keep them from away from Schoen as he takes a shitkicking as it is already
  23. yup...we got his market offer...and we walked.....good move....I guess he is going back to losing again....so be it Only guy still available I would want is Rhymes now...his physicality would be a welcome augmentation to the group Mitchell...Demski..Schoen...Rhymes...Clercius as a starting 5 would be a nice group... Not sure how Dobson has himself valued at that...maybe after another bet on yourself 1 yr deal and prove it maybe same...love him when he is on...but even if he gives you 18 games....in the current CFL market now thats on over pay now...Dobson is on glue....
  24. You should be turning over pieces of your roster every yr....we essentially stood pat for most part for 4 straight yrs...allowed our depth to erode, and we put zero effort into identifying who and where we may need to upgrade/move on from due to age/production/cost and brought in a true blue chip talent to develop and easily transition them into the spot....and instead just rode the wagon till the wheels fell off, and had zero depth behind key positions The last 2 yrs we are truly lucky WJ didnt go down for an extended time...or even Bighill when he was still productive...as we had zero depth there....We would have ran out Gauthier and Briggs as they all starters and suffered greatly and yup...we went away from this and should have continued that mindset with bringing in established guys just at the edge of achieving their peak and keep filtering it thru the roster...instead of retaining "our" guys....essentially just because...we missed out on a lot of guys we likely could have signed...but we felt it wasnt needed because status quo seemed to be working....and that had no forward thinking involved in it and having the foresight and projecting..a yr...2 yrs down the road and groom your successor....or bring in the successor and thank the incumbent for their service...which we didnt...we have really eroded ur depth and hamstrung our roster....and thankfully it looks like we are getting back to re-stocking and moving on...a few yrs too late but its a start
