  1. yup...physically and athletically he has exctly what yu want inside...technique wise he needs grooming....as an oline guy he still young and his athleticism alone leads me to believe he can be coached up...I think more reps...and him not having to think to recognize things will help him out a lot too....coming with reps and growing pains....when he was at fault a lot of times looked more like he just wasnt in sync with others, and his recognition of stuff was a bit behind the others...I think time will sort that out for him
  2. Dobson definitely needs work for sure...he's improved but not sure what his ceiling is yet and if he's at or near it.....Worst case a good depth piece
  3. Eli is our best center option....but like @wbbfan said they seem to really like him at that 6th/jumbo/guard fill in guy who is versatile for us....and he has excelled there and is been a big part of our run success so no fault in that ...But we have just stood pat and status quo with Kolo....Why I dont know....maybe Osh liked the fact he was a 2 yr scrap heap reclamation that nobody wanted and liked his hard work ethic when he got here knowing it was his last shot...who knows but he is the weak link on the line and has affected a lot of the guards play....he's just not good enough...adequate for spot duty.....but we need better I hope we draft center specific at oline this yr.....or trade/FA pick up one....Ratio wise we can easily use an import at guard if we want and there are so many brute brawlers down south who can step right in and be a force it be an easy solution...and very SMS friendly too
  4. Definitely bring Neuf back....cant have too much experience and leadership on the oline....and he played well...was a walking wounded all yr, but when was healthy played well...better than well Dobson is a bit of mystery....got better as the yr went on and definitely still worth the time put into him....but dos still needs some work...I can see Wallace stealing his spot next yr actually. I would think 2025 will be the Big Stan final yr...so imperative we either sign his heir apparent this yr and put in Lofton's spot for now....tho Lofton as yr went on was very serviceable....and truly if ratio allows would like to find a RT to allow him...Wallace...Neuf and Randolph to battle it out for the 2 guards spots....and if an import takes a spot...work that ratio then....don't be tied to carved in stone ratio positions as it effects the roster elsewhere with not getting your best talent on the field....play your best wherever they fit. And we still have Eli and Kolo....whom I hope we move on from. Regardless of what we do in free-agency and draft....if that group is brought back we have a good starting point. We definitely tho need to construct our roster with real players outside the 24 starters....guys who can actually step in and play if need be....even tho Osh says they all number 1's anyone with half a brain knows thats utter BS...Our roster past the top 30...35 guys or so is a collection of pluggers and slugs....and shouldn't be...Change your draft philosophy toward picking best guys...and ones who project to possible starter, or at worst rotational rep guys....not just this ST only mentality we seemed to have favored.....But I guess when your GM and HC only have/had ST back grounds as coaches....maybe they don't have a keen eye for talent past that.....allow your assistants and Co-ordinators to coach em into real players
  5. I can see Ted and Danny wanting to perhaps move on as of late...the fruits of all their off-seson work seems to get bypassed for old....tired and sub par favorites.....personnel guys will only deal with that for so long
  6. priority guys before Jan I would guess could be Lawler...WJ....Neuf...I suspecting Holm too....Schoen with being hurt...and Strev can be massaged in a bit differently as both I doubt will be good to go first week....well wouldnt be wise....so once some of the bigger parts get signed they will know what they have to work with and what amounts they can figure to be off the books....
  7. 3 yrs I believe been the norm I'm also fine moving on from Ford if need be if he wants the moon.....He isnt vital to the ratio as we can easily start 7 guys plus the nationalized guy easily....and his 145...165k or slightly more would go much better served on a young Canadian Olineman if available in FA....or a guy like Ceresna or another difference making interior dlineman if they hit market Ford at entry level deal was a nice lil luxury....but moving forward prob not worth it.....especially if you need that spot for ratio your backup to him is gonna be a severe downgrade....big salary stuck there isn't the best bang for your buck especially when you can find unlimited import talent to play there in the U.S for half the price....we have no issues finding them.
  8. Oh the Faj...just the continued disrespect lol I'm sure he will pipe up in the media with some stupid comments...just what he does
  9. If not in plans sure...there's a handful of players that shouldn't even be internally discussed at being brought back...even on the cheap...they just don't make us better and just slow down the process of transition and maintaining our place on top...he has before touched on certain guys who won't be offered a deal...or be brought back...but they were not in the group of one of Osh's Boi's...and the fact it wasn't touched on or mentioned discussions are gonna be had with what long in tooth...or just not good enough anymore players may be moved on from is red flag worthy..
  10. If ZC is gonna be the QB then signing Lawler and Schoen is a priority at whatever cost..he gonna need as many studs around him as possible
  11. Management..coaching...players...eventually get stale and don't work...happens...reluctantance to change too is generally a death sentence People fall back to the argument yeah won 2 grey cups...5 trips...yeah so what...it's easily argued part of this regime was directly responsible for 3 flops too...goes both ways and in a what have u done for me business...they have failed in 3 straight seasons now...a 4th for falling back on old dumb habits and ideals should be the see ya later thanks for everything Bringing back and labeling Thomas...Biggie...Wilson...BA...at minimum as starters and key pieces is a sign that nobody above the coordinator's have learned a thing
  12. Strev will be back...and 6 games won't even count on cap...he's a key signing as much as many seem to think otherwise...and a new OC will be a godsend to him I'd like to see him used as more than the 2nd/3rd string guy...utilize his cap hit on teams..in 2 QB offence...in backfield...punt team as Prukopp was used...be ideal for fake punts if he always out there Groom Wilson as the heir apparent...get 2nd string reps...let Strev run jumbo...stuff on teams and unique offensive schemes...the times buck put the 2 qbs out there it was pointless
  13. He definitely is ahead of many first yr guys...Brown was tentative and skittish..looked like a scared rabbit If u didn't know better you would think Wilson had a few yrs playing...with reps and schemes built for him we may have something I also liked in pre season his ability to sprint out and throw on run too...
  14. I like what I've seen in limited action...showed more than Brown his first yr He seems to have poise and comfort in pocket to stick in there and let a route develop...definitely has the arm to make any throw too....and is mobile...now we just have to have the right people work with him and develop it. We did it before with Brown so we can do it. If he is allowed to get play time this yr coming up...real play time...he is gonna be way ahead of where Brown was going into yr 3.
  15. Likely a sms casualty
  16. tell em we will throw in Jake...Biggie....as well....great for the room and they are key...as per Osh
  17. I'd take Mclkeod Goofy Thompson her as the back-up tothe starter....let Wilson continue with jumbo and have some set packages for him to evolve with over the yr.....and actually run him out there...as opposed to how we generally do it and not let the backups get any meaningful reps.....seeing how well that served us this Grey Cup I bet we had MBT at QB in Grey Cup we would have won which should make people not put much faith into...or belief in this rhetoric Osh feeds us that "they all number ones"..."they are on roster cause they give us a chance to win games"..." they in the building because we like them".....yap yap yap.....if he truly believed it himself he wouldn't run out aged vets....hurt guys.....guys who shouldn't even be dressed....obviously he doesn't believe it, or he would use back-ups....and healthy young guys
  18. yup,,,,,i think I may too haha should be an open competition with whomever they bring to camp....best man wins......as with all positions mind you.....something we have gotten away from here....hence the sliiiiiiiidde
  19. so edm wants to lick tires on Buck...the more interest the better for us possibly moving on i guess
  20. nice deal for CGY Now....where does Maier go.....
  21. yeah who was it last yr...well this yr I guess
  22. Alexander shows promise...not sold on him yet tho.....going full in with an unproven with no vet around could be a slippery slope to be on....be an interesting off-season of coaches and QB's tho
  23. Was gonna say...Augustine has really developed into a well rounded and more than just an average ST guy. Typical example of a Canadian trained kid needing extra yrs in the CFL to actually develop if allowed to. Had he went the NCAA route he would have came in so much further ahead and likely grabbed a starting role somewhere or at the least a guy who got 5 to 10 non garbage time touches a game. But in order for us to surround ZC with Uber talent for him to succeed as it's basically a certainty we hitching wagon to him...and at this point he needs a solid...vet/familiar group around him it prob means Augustine will hit the market. Interesting convo on Winnipeg Sports Talk with Hustler and Hamilton today in regards to things that have failed us...and touching on management mismanagement and that it appears Osh has too much say/control than he should...and it's hurting us due to his way of going about stuff...I couldn't agree more and see that too...and in convo with some people related to team have heard that sentiment too. It's definitely an issue that needs to be corrected...if anything adresssed...if you look it up on YouTube it's worth a listen for the Bomber discussions
