Brady I think should be a lock for Canadian and Wilson for ROY......And really BO should also be the M.O.P too but again...the voters at times seem to have an agenda McCinnis faded bad...and really wasn't the force...or the straw that stirred his teams drink...over looking that due to early season tire pumping...and a team that declined would be a shame...border on crime Our football "writers" need to look at his volume of work the last couple seasons too...All-time great 2023 season stats for a Canadian RB...3rd straight 1000 yard season...2nd in a row leading league...pushing another 2000 combined yard season...those are numbers that would rival any elite RB the last few decades....he has earned it u read my mind as I was typing M.O.P relative to his team....if he was missing...we are really hampered...McInnis..Milligan..who are being pushed by media as front runners...remove them...not a really big loss...

I was gonna say...season up MCI a bit....Use Big Kev as a true tight end and not just as a edge blocker.....and brutalize a defense...over and over with the ground and short attack.....basically tenderize them for the big bites down the field....I'd also between the 45's just play snot slobbering 3 down ball and wear em out until they show they can stop it. Have and show faith in that defense that if they do get the odd stop....it's to no avail and they punting it back I like how Hamilton actually uses their big global guy Robinson as a prototypical TE....when teams know the guy is out there and and actual option in the pass game, as well as a run blocker...it opens thigs up so much more as he has to be accounted for by a cover guy

can be said what Kelly did...and others like him can cause life altering effects on their victims too when it mattered tho..Kelly looked like complete crap in playoffs...I expect much the same again

If we were to play a 80 percent 2 back set with BO and even another bruiser, and a true tight end type who is used on release passes and streaks and slants...and just beat the crap outta of a defense and took shots with the receivers when it was there....good luck with that with a lot of the undersized defenses

yup....I've seen in college some coaches being basically away from home...but in the same city from wed to sat night....and then are right back at stadium sunday morning

prep is on players yes...but also they need to be coached and prepped by coaches too....just assuming or allowing self policing...well gets a lot of times the errors you see.....preperation for a game or a scheme is much further than giving a page in a play book and saying "learn this at your leisure" hate to harp on it...but coaching has failed us at times with the belief the room was doing what needed to be done....if thats the case...why even have coaches?...right? yup...and then going over with the players every conceivable thing that may occur, or how a team may deviate....you just can't assume the players will do it themselves...and even then....especially with newer players....there is stuff they havn't seen or even thought of...I think some here don't really understand the coaching and install process and what actually needs...and should go into it

yup....when your good...elite....doesnt matter when you played...save for maybe pre 1970's as guys were significantly smaller...and less athletically gifted save for the odd guy But slap a prime player from 80's on thru into todays game...and they would fare just fine and they would also be training and taking advantage of how todays game is played...so safe to say they would be even better...Better training...equipment...coaching and facilities....certainly equates to better performance...a lot of the prime in any era have it upstairs too....which factors in huge you just touched on the point I made...yesterdays stars...in todays world...with access and mind set of todays athlete...would still be elite Stick a Stegall or the likes in the era where smoking and drinking all off sesson and getting fat and starting your training at training camp basically...would not be the player we saw.....maybe back half the season Charlie Roberts tho would thrive in any era...haha....lil bugger just had it

coaching issues despite all our success has also crippled and killed us Tons....3 guys were useless...and Mtl barely gave them a hard look and took away Lawler..BO...and knew if they went to Bailey..Demski...Schoen that they could get away with soft/minimal coverage and get to the ball and incur minimal damage Was blatantly obvious....and even the healthiest (Demski) who you could of got away with if you had 4 other healthy guys after his first sweep....i think was a sweep....could see he had zero burst or sxplosiveness.....as we let BOLO stand there all game...and could have dressed a vet like Ambles...who had played that yr....knows cfl defenses inside and out and would have known more than enough of the play book to be effective....and regardless, MTL would have to have dedicated attention to both him and Bolo and would have gave the others room to perform.....sad fact we barely lost, and part of the blame there wwas the defensive lineup...we all know what that was......fact of matter....That was all on coaching....and 90% reason why we biffed our second straight cup Just like in 2022...ZC was clear and obvious hurt...and not able to run the offence effectively....and he took every damn snap Thats where your coach has to have the foresight and ability to see issues and buck his trend of believing the starter is always great and maybe make a change....if not if for anything 1 series and let the main QB see what's going on from the sidelinesthis is a key issue I think....Osh puts too much faith in guys in room gettting the extra stuff done...and how we have came out in many games...how we have no answer at times in some and where we have guys looking totally out to lunch is an indication that the team isn't/wasn't prepared totally and that coaching was to lean....and when your roster isnt loaded anymore...well....

Players from the 90's era...for most part could play now....some of the specialists and offensive talent may struggle....tho depending on what type of game they play too would be key Some of the 90's guys were beats, and many were nicely PED'd up too...I know this as fact as I was there in 90's You take a team with a dedicated FB and RB set....some maulers on the oline and one of that eras's starting QB's....Todays defence in a lot of regards would need to seriously adjust...and they may not have the beef to o so.... Trying to rate era's is a hard thing...too many different things in play...skilled position guys now are definitely way advanced....and they ae in pretty much game shape yr round...back then....25% of guys were maybe

when I look at bad in game play...wth broken coverage....poor qb decisions....missed assignments...I look toward the lead up prep and how staffs I have been part have had taken each group...ran thru scenarios...all the alterations they may see...and how you adjust and make sure guys are all on same page and are aware of things they may not have even considered....which can minimize and for most part eliminate busts...etc....I am of the belief we don't coach that up enough and Osh puts too much faith in the guys in the room and the vets are on top of it and doing it....hands off at times is good to a point, but you also have to still be that coach and be certain all the boxes are checked...T's crossed and i's dotted...He has himself even admitted that he doesn't do that....maybe he should....The TD that won it against us in last yr's Grey Cup was Houston lack of seeing things...and knowing that pattern...Rose would have easily sniffed that out....but Rose was in civies

I agree as well....but part of the better coaching part...was putting the right guys on the roster too....and possibly better preparing the ones who were 2023...at minimum 5 guys who were too hurt to play....and then having a couple guys on sidelines who could have...not step on field....thats on coaching Removing a seasoned play-off vet like Rose for no real particular reason as he was not playing poorly.....thats on coaches ZC against the Argo's in 2022....was very apparent he was not able to play at a level required due to injury...and yet...was kept in....again...poor coaching....if anything they should have let the n=backup get 1 or 2 series to see if it added a spark Dressing an undermanned and underwhelming dline for that game....who puts out that roster?....the coach I won't go on about it but beyond some the underwhelming performance by some of our guys...our coaching further handi-capped things....hope we have learned

I was referring more to Bridges..McGhee and whatever other Import rookie they have kicking around We have been well versed the last 2 yrs of veteran blunders....or maybe I should rephrase...veteran decile and inabilities now....Taylor tho...has always been pretty damned sound assignment wise...but I hear what u saying....thats where coaching needs to be on point in prep yup...I know people...well some are tired of hearing about it...don't wanna believe it...thiunk its a personal vndetta...etc..etc....but it's a thing...it happened...was key to our flops....and hasn't totally disappeared yet....and I fear it shows up...again....hope we learned

exactly...and his eyes have seen it all.....if BA is parked...and no offence to him but hope he is..Taylor inserted there and leave everyone else alone is the smart move......and also the best...Play off football now...U can't afford rookie blunders now.....and we all know Osh will play his vets till a limb falls off even if they not the best choice.....so Taylor in should be a no brainer?...He wasn't brought in this late for a "look" toward 2025 That being said Osh has a bad history of playng guys with missing limbs or ones that don't work...so BA at safety for the WF/WSF won't shock me in the least....sadly....And I am sure Wilson will be there too...rusty...not in game shape....and likely not 100 percent

Don't know whythey just don't put Taylor at safety....he's olde...but still has elite speed...also knows all the nuances of CFL offenses so back there he would know exactly where to flow too...no need to make 3 moves to satisfy 1 injury...thats just bad management no matter how much a coach or players say they know all the positions Taylor at safety...Bonds and Ford at corner....Anders Holmvic at HB and Griffin as the all around ace.....easy peasy

i would hope....tho some the outliers can still come back if on the PR... we were....1 inch and Nichols doesnt make that play....if Masoli was in all game too....prob a different outcome as well. Nobody is taking away anything, but in sports...and high levels if you have ever played at times luck comes into play...alot....you can't deny it in any sport...and like they say....Good teams are lucky more than not People can applaud for perceived good things with no problem....but how dare someone criticize in what a lot of times is blatant mismanagement/coaching/playing/attitude...whatever it is....You can agree...disagree....dispute....challenge...discuss....interpret however you wish...not just you but all of us..thats the beauty of open discussion on an open fanboard......but it's pretty clea in several regards that some.....red carefully here before you get your knickers in a twist...but some of our success was in spite of some real poor decisions...while we had the good fortune of having the best roster....and when we went to the well too many times since Cup #2 and didnt have foresight to maybe transition guys, and better maintain an active game ay roster and PR...while riding some aged out vets, and some "good guy" players who really...were not adequate for the roles some were given....well what we have....a couple shiny reg-season records....but 2 cup losses ...and then games this yr where we have struggled...a lot...look nothing like the prime 2019-2022 squads, None of that is an outlandish take at all....it's right there in front of us to witness. A team...player...and yup a coach can be good to great and have serious flaws....pretending they are not there with only support to dispute it is "yeah buts" from Cup wins now pushing 3 yrs ago....to me is pretty outlandish I support the team and organization as much as anyone....season ticket holder and also give 2 tickets away most games to local youth....and give respect as much as anyone when and where warranted....but also won't pull punches and call things out...you dont have to like what i say....and I encourage discussion and point/counter point with factual and pertinent points....every story has 2 sides to it.
