Couple first half thoughts.. Oline is doing just ..no issues Exume is a total ST stud Not liking the heavy dose of Thomas rotation..when he on we dont get nearly the push and disruption..30 percent of snaps is more than enough Nichols has made some plays that last year he couldn't.. obviously he was injured and not 100 percent healthy Wilson is doing just fine as a JSK replacement..showed food speed running down Burnham too

Glad for Bennett but feel sorry for him doing to that mess..and be hard to root against him but dont want him to succeed..hence riders succeed...wonder if this means Collaros out a while???

Why is lions receiving Corp better..I'd say Adam's and Burnham a wash..I would take woli over Carter any day..since his release from sask he has done diddly Demski and Johnson.. wash again though Demski more versatile..and the other bc guy is straight from junior football so I'd put lucky or Lawler ahead of him..also u have to include Harris who is head and shoulders above Rutley..and both oline have potential and new faces on them but bc has a guy playing center who has never played it..at least Couture has been grooming for it for years. And as Mike said.. that bc defense looks putrid and I see us exploiting konar and herdman just like we did to konar and gang against Edmonton last yr. Reilly might make it interesting and close..maybe for a bit but I see us winning by at least 2 tds

Exactly..not sure why many here think he cant..its prob from the on TD he and I cant remember who got beat on by Carter I think it was from miscommunication where they looked totally inept. He has filled in many instances as well as the time the one game when I think 3 starters went down in a game and all the backups played lights out...

If Lawrwnce gets suspended the smart thing for him is to not appeal it..bad optics if he does

corner especially boundary corner is the easiest position to translate into the canadian game on defense...and Fenner has played corner before so it's not a "new" position to him..and he's probably the most athletic and in shape of all our DB's on the roster..I see no issues with him...Alexander and him will lock things down nicely and they both have good size and speed

I don't even consider safety a weak spot..the position itself as named basically is your safety net in the back-end..so a smart guy who doesn't try to be a world beater and just plays within the system will be fine...when's the last time in the CFL that a safety was the lynchpin of a super defense...the main reason for it??..ummm...never With our d-line..Bighill..and our 2 halfbacks..Sayles who I think was a gem unearthed and Alexander now in his 3rd year and as solid as HB come in the league, our safety just needs to survey the scene and come in and clean up the garbage, or add to the carnage the rest of this defense I believe will be laying on teams. I'm super excited to see what the Jeffs and Richardson and Nevis are going to create, if it's what i think our blitz packages are going to be unreal and even though Reilly is a tough SOB to bring down and sack I can see 5 sacks coming tonight

totally agree...my only concern is a few hiccups with bad reads, or miscommunication with seeing something they aren't used to...physically and the ability to smack guys around not too concerned.

thats the thing...it wasn't a matter of "if" he was gonna get knocked out but when...and it didn't have to be a head shot either...as cheap and lowdown dirty as a hit it was..Lawrence turned to the side and hit him more with his shoulder/body than a blatant spear or helmet to helmet shot so the impact wasn't as violent as it could have been..if that pop knocked him out just imagine a real good bone rattling smash...

I think that continuity and the fact we will be running full schemes on both sides of the ball will carry us through this first game...that O-line interior has me a bit nervous but at same time also a bit excited to see if the grooming of guys has paid off...

same can be said about Michah Johnson..talks about how his and AC Leonards addition makes their D-line better than with Jefferson there...which in itslef was laughable, but Johnson now has to work with weaker talent around him than in CGY and won't be the force he was there, and didn't do much last night though it is only one game in..but still...didn't wow me, and Hughes picked up right where he left off the last 2 seasons...non factor and invisible

Harris also is surrounded with a QB and passing game...good to great o-line and other weapons to take the abuse off of him..Powell is going to get destroyed this year..also Dickensons claims that he wants powell to have 20 carries a game..like wtf...360 carries in a year in these times is ridiculous at best...

Evans went down...may have came back but unsure..knee..Labatte is already out...I seen Clarke too come up real slow a few times..for a team with very thin depth as it is this spells trouble...I knew Bladek would get hurt especially a O-line guy with a knee rebuild as being there 2 times myself it seemed awfully quick to be back fully participating considering it happened in Oct... On Collaros maybe this was a good thing for him and Riders...Get the first of what will most likely been/be multiple concussions this year out of the way right away..and maybe make a decision to move on/away now..save the guys noodle more trauma it would get over the season...pretty sure quality of life is more important than trying to turn that tire fire around... The loss of Jones may be more far reaching than thought as that staff looked lost and perplexed, and that team of primarily 30 somethings as starters is gonna be beat up bad by mid season...Powell is gonna be worn down to a useless knub in no time

Riders are a mess..brutal oline play and they lost another starter on it..yikes! When Powell turned it over on downs Clarke got right trucked..and guys were coming through all night. Did Hughes even play? Johnson doesnt look as good when he has to do all the work. Pop gun offence will scare nobody and expect Powell to be hurt or worn and broken down by midseason.. not like he a spring chicken Lucky for rider faithfull that Hamikton played and looked like crap or this would have been fugly... Dickenson looks lost and is going to have a lot of learning/growing to do if he wants to continue as a HC
