  1. Being as things are in the States he is lucky he didn't get gunned down....so glad I don't live there no more
  2. they sure got a lot of money tied up into about 4-5 guys on defense...with no real option for winning at QB and a rookie HC gonna be a long season there you would think
  3. I think he has basically at this time cornered himself into no real options..accept Montreal's less than adequate deal (in his mind) and join that circus and basically have a miserable losing year...or put his tail between his legs and see if the Bomber offer is still on the table...and hope that it is. This waiting for a camp injury or a team to be desperate is probably the stupidest thin g he could do...and a big risk..and even so...if a team finds a need...they still don't have to bank up a Brink's truck to Henoc because really...he has limited options....and the notion of him seeking NFL opportunities is looooong gone... He needs to put his nose to the grindstone and play a year and "prove" he can be a ratio breaking elite National...then reap some rewards in the following years with a nice contract...at this point in his career he has no real bargaining chip...questions abound as to if he is still what he was/coulda been when he first left for the NFL , so expecting to be payed as one of the highest paid Non-QB's in the league is crazy
  4. We can be super unfortunate too and have a rash of injury trouble and 6 game 15 to 20 to keep around ala Sask.....
  5. Next man steps up I guess eh? I not too concerned with either..Neufeld has been injury free for years now...albeit not as a starter, but he was pushed back too early in previous years when not ready due to zero depth on the o-line and his injury was never really able to heal..and he compensated for it..and made things worse... Wild last year injury was just bad luck and not a matter of him being injury prone...his first 2 years was pretty much injury free othe than a few minor knicks..and 3rd yr was limited in games as he was still doing the Nfl thing... He plays hard...hence gets hurt on occasion...but I think that this yr we have 2 guys other than JSK that will really push him and he may be a camp casualty...we shall see
  6. I think BC and Ssk will be battling it out again for the crossover spot...and this year the east save for montreal will be fairly strong. At moment the top 3 teams in West are a toss up for who ends up where..tho I think Wpg will again have a home playoff game...which one tho is the big question
  7. We are Better at the QB position (Nichols and Durant and any rookie are Better than what we had last year) Status quo at RB (Possibly better as we may see looks with Harris/Demski/ Lafrance/Flanders all in motion giving defenses fits) Better at receiver ( with or without having to start 2 Canadians) though depth is suspect at this time O-line we are weaker with loss of Bond ( Still a top 3 team in terms of O-line tho...depth could be issue if we get nailed with injuries) D-line we are better even with loss of Westerman. (Being able to go all import is going to help and Corney and Ekakite are going to be better as they grow too...no concerns there) DB's are better as more depth and more experience. Heath loss if you ask me is a no big deal... Linebacking...weak last year...and still concerns this year until we see who..what..and where is on field and if scheme was issue last year or personnel. ST's...status quo...and most likely better this year as Medlock had off year and punt return was non existent for better part of the yr...so any production at all from there will make us upgraded..and our cover teams were lights out for most part and we added Fenner who is a demon This team should be a 12-6 team again and if the defense steps up at all and corrects the issues that plagued it you can maybe factor in an extra win there..possibly 2...especially if the offense keeps evolving...can't see it taking a step backward this year..so a 13-14 win season if you ask me isn't far fetched...
  8. Harris contract is hard money...it is what it is..
  9. definitely would have banked more you would think...he lost out on bonus money owed to him in Montreal... and was due another in Sask no?...and if he doesnt sign till later in a season...won't get a true years salary worth
  10. the fact that they probably realize they can't afford him...and he probably doesn't like what they are offering
  11. I wonder how much money he has lost since coming back to the CFL in bonus money that teams were to pay him...but released him prior to him getting it...compared to if he had just signed a fair contract..for good money and produced some longevity in one place
  12. doubt it was for PR....he basically just stated where and how the negotiations went....and the fan base wanted to know what was going on...so he let them know. I think it's a good thing as well...as a paying fan base you want to know your team's management is doing the things to improve year in and year out...if he had said nothing then people would have kept speculating..spinning crazy stories and rumors and still wondering...now it has been layed out for all to see...we offered this...he wants this....we shall see where it ends up And who cares he used a name of a player as his reference...any person with half a brain could figure out that if he said only that Henoc wanted to be the highest earning Canadian on the team that it would translate to him wanting more than Harris
  13. Well walters said he wanted to be paid more than Andrew Harris...so not sure where you would think that wasn't true to what Muamba wanted..Pretty sure Walters wouldn't stand up at a presser and flat out lie
  14. exactly...if reed was smart he would put it at what bombers best was...or just under..if he still pays above it he just cemented his reputation of being an idiot gm
  15. I don't have a hard time seeing him asking that...his little cfl tour 2 years ago is proof that he think s he is the be all end all of CDN talent...when have you ever in the history of the league seen such a thing..I will answer that for you...never
  16. exactly...from my experience agent works for you...not other way around and generally agent takes his direction from you in what you want...and then he tries to get that for you...or maximize things best he can...Sure that agent is a bit of a tough nut and has a rep...but in the end...the player makes the decision on the deals...not the agent deciding for you...so over the course of the last 3 negotiations..pretty sure Hnoc is the dickish one
  17. He doesn't deserve to be the highest paid Canadian here until he does the things, and shows to be the type of player and person Harris is first...so in my books thank god and good riddance. Now if I was Reed...i would drop my offer to what the Bombers offered as top dollar...why pay more than you have to...his options are limited and really....why not offer him even less now...what other option does he have...what adick
  18. Could be a good candidate to take Knox's roster spot now that he is gone...and work his way into the starting lineup ala Santos Knox did. Or if he really is a stud in the making grab the sam spot and have Leggett and Fenner as HB's...or some kind of funky combinations where we can hide coverages and blitzes and keep offence's guessing as to who is doing what..and where
  19. Yeah not understanding the notion Lafrance is going to make Flanders expendable.....that just makes zero sense. He effectively is taking Normands roster spot..and did Normand make Flanders expendable?? It will just be more a case no w that when Lafrance comes in it won't be as a jumbo package or as a tight end like Normand was used and he will see touches or at the least take a defender away from one of the other playmakers...as well as spell Andrew off the odd snap as to not mess with ratio
  20. he is American yeah...but he is also well suited and capable in the middle..was 5th in the nation in tackles (2014) and was 7th best total all-time in the Mid American Conference ..and that was done from the middle...so have no doubts he can manage...but just wish we had more ratio flexibility that Muamba could give..
  21. JSK had 50 defensive tackles in what was 9 starts....also 19 ST ones........and didnt get on roster till week 4.......
  22. I say roll with Couture..Trade Neufeld for draft pick this year..or rights to a neg list guy...Maybe if you need to dump 2 (which I highly doubt) you drop Nevis and his 130k price tag...theres roughly 275k free'd up right there. Couture is ready for prime time...he could have played last year if he had to and done just fine...Dress Foketti as the 6th oline guy...he's earned and deserves it...if he has to go in due to injury in game I am fine with tossing out Jones/Branning on the corner...or you just play one of Ekakite or Corney on every defensive snap...case closed
  23. in a perfect world be nice if Opa would look to restructure his deal..sign for less for chance to be part of something good..I know he likes it here and is a key veteran on our young defense...If I was making the decisions and we had to shed salary...I would drop Nevis and and restructure Opa if he willing to a 140-145k deal with a good third of it as upfront cash to ease his tax burden...DT who are imports are more easy to find and integrate into your lineup than an import end who has a way bigger learning curve and takes more time to get used to the Canadian field and it's benchmarks etc
  24. Now isn't this rather amusing...maybe he should focus that opinion on his own kid...hahaha http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/giants/odell-beckham-mentor-cris-carter-sounds-article-1.3870560?utm_content=bufferaf3f2&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=NYDNSports+Twitter
