Actually for being inactive for so long Kongbo looked good...got in backfield quite a bit...had some hurries and a knock down and also caused 2 holding penalties that I saw...It was really effective when they ran sets with him and Willie side by side on the edge...the tackle and guard didn't know what to do

As long as we head back to Wpg for game vs Cgy st 6-1 I dont care as long as it's not a pull it out of fire last drive of game to win it..that shouldn't happen T.O is a bad team at moment but B.C is all around worse.. so a totally trumping shouldn't be "expected" but not shocking either. Next year will be yr 3 for Strev...and if we keep him will be in same system with relatively the same supporting cast. I think if we win the Cup..we either trade Nichols if there is a taker..a team like Toronto could be a suitor considering they just traded for Collaros. We roll with Strevler..tweek and reconfigure the offense a bit to maximize his strengths but still build and develop his passing. He can pass more than adequately and as the main man..getting first team reps and not having to run gimmick and special schemes he will do just fine. As of now he is put in to run plays with limited options for him..so if the main read isnt there he basically has not much else to go to and relies on his legs It's not a matter of him just always taking off after one read as many think..its basically be design/circumstance.. next time you are at a game live watch what's going on around him on the field with options and receivers...you dont get the full picture on the tsn feed

For one sacks are highly overated and not a true indicator of a "good" line..get back to me when you see points allowed...rushing yards against...yards gained per first down and then digest that back in Sask as I assume that's where your sad lil post originated from Evan's is useless and doesnt warrant salary he pulls in and anyone can see that. Johnson has shown he cant do it alone and needs complimentary peices to obtain sexy stats and if you had any football acumen you'd know generally most interior guys get a double team generally..and he got doubled lots in CGY.. and had other guys taking attention away from him Hughes as usual I bgg getting his fancy stats early on..feasting on horrid Bc and T.O olines...but when games matter and down stretch he disappears and is a non factor...2 years running and I bet this year wont be any different...so maybe sight is hardly a stretch by any means Hughes has had 1 sack against a quality oline...(Calgary and Ham) and 1 against average Ottawa..the rest piled up against BC and T.O...color me not impressed...a College team would pile sacks up against that garbage

Yeah exactly.. ibl wouldn't put much into the stated positions on the depth charts..if you watch any game I bet Adam's first one takes as many reps coming from the slot or the number 2 spot as he does outside..same with others.

You can be a deep threat from anywhere..a lot of times more success with deep ball originates from receiver coming out of the slot position of field.

A lot of Johnsons success was a result of guys around him..and he..or the others freeing each other up...on sask well Evan's blows..A.C Leonard isnt a top 6 DE in league and Hughes is reaping rewards of Johnson getting teamed and getting stats..but that will dissapear post Labour day when his old body shuts it down for the yr like it has the last 2 I said right from TC that Johnson would be insignificant there once he has to do all the heavy lifting..and at 250k a year that's a nice hamstring around that loser organization's neck..along with Evan's around 200k and the 160 or so Hughes steals from them for a half yrs work

Speaks to depth when you can replace an Adam's with a Matthew's...and in all honesty could be an improvement..no omock on Adam's as he balls it out. But Matthew's if he is dialed in brings more to table If Matthew's replaces Adam's.. the new db basically takes Humes DI spot as he slides into Alexander's starting role..I can see us putting Bailey where Walker was as a DI Be a perfect game to do this and see what he brings..especially with Kongbo on roster And dont be fooled in thinking he is a DE only due to his size..you think Willie is a freak athlete..Kongbo is probably freakier.. and talking with some peeps I know he wont be out of place rapping in at Will.. he is quick enough and actually has cover skills..his basketball skills allow his quick feet and ability to have them loose hips to turn an go with a reciever/running back

Wonder who Kongbo replaces on the roster ratio wise..is it a guy like Rush or Lalama..and play strictly teams..or does he say replace Warren and come in on defense in limited reps and we use that DI spot on another receiver..or DB If Adam's is out this week I'd like to see us sit Walker and put Bailey in as the di and rotate him in and out of the offence. I bet he's one of those guys who once he gets a shot..he will make it so y k..i u cant take him out..guy was one of the most fluid and smoothest prospects I've seen brought in to camp in a while. Let Lucky handle main returner duties and downsize his offensive reps to keep him

Like really??...cause they beat BC and TO and have a not very good QB.. and a defense this year that is not top 2 in league..maybe 4th or 5th best...but yeah I guess we will be looking "back" over out shoulder at a 4th place club at best

Lapos game plan was totally the problem.. he always overthinks things..tries to be one up on people when it's not needed and everytime we suffer for it...you cant expect a team that plays a certain way to switch totally over to something different and not expect errors.. hiccups.. flaws He needs to just go with what's working..add wrinkles to it until teams prove they can beat it..then work different philosophies in. That's always been an issue with him

Thing is..we play a clean game and we win in the Hammer...and most likely too if Masoli stayed in..the first series or 2 in a game dont mean whole game would be similar. Look how many times teams jump out to early 2 score leads and lose..and a lot of the time get right smoked too Right from the start something seemed "off" in that game..and was uncharacteristic to what this team is..and has been since last year..I wouldn't worry. I can see an easy convincing win in T.O and then a similar result at home vs CGY. If we are not 7-1 after 8 games I will be utterly shocked

Yeah I could see him as well basically replacing the DI spot we use with an import linebacker..and using an offensive weapon in that spot. Kongbo is athletic enough he doesnt have to be pidgeon holed on the line.

I doubt the riders have cap room even though they are paying peanuts for their shitty QBs They pay well over 3/4 of a million for their dline..solly..Ryan.. roosevelt.. Powell.. arceneaux..all well over 100k.. Plus i doubt Reilly would agree to go there..he's big city...not craptacular regina

You can expect usually one dud a year..I guess this was ours. Bad game plan from the get go..regardless of behind early..it was 6 minutes into the game so that's not an excuse and to suggest we tossed our game plan. Lapo usually has a head scratcher or 2 a season like that.. I blame the ineptitude on him..and the fact Nichols was off last night..hence more reason to run the ball. Also..a healthy dose of Matthew's would have been key this game and made a huge difference.. especially when it seemed we couldn't get any receivers freed up..his stature alone out there and his presence/experience would have been huge...for all Lucky's good things for now he should be a 70 per cent of reps guy..rotated in for all the imports so teams cant just key on him when he is in always in same set or scheme. He's being swarmed now and without Matthew's presence out there as a mid range and vertical threat it's making things congested and tough If next game Matthew's isnt in for Walker then our coaches need a smack upside the head.

Sask with a false sense of accomplishment..they beat toromto..and bc..whoopity do..and never really looked impressive in doing so

Not sure why bc doesnt dress some import receivers who are quick. No need to dress more than 7 canadians as it isnt helping them..give Reilly some playmakers or guys who can get open..all they have is Burnham

seeing as Mike Jones the DB on PR can return..and looked good in camp and pre-season next week I would flip him and Humes...and put Matthews in place of Walker and get him involved heavily in the offence...and then see what we have cooking
