  1. yeah methinks we see some issues there...discontentment...possible locker room division...should be interesting to say the least.
  2. Jevaris Jones...was here late in season...pretty sure he is going to be in TC...Club was pretty high on him...seems like an intriguing prospect
  3. yeah they talk of a great contract that fits nicely into the sms there...don't see it ...but i guess based on the intellect there that's what you'd expect to hear. 225K lopped off the cap right off the hop has to be a bit concerning..as well as 205k more of salary to cover...on a guy who may still not have it...or get re-injured...tho anyone can be injured but a quarter million tied into a player in a sms small cap league is just dumb. No what if Bridge plays lights out and beats out Zack...are they gonna still start Zack...and alienate him further as it seems he is a bit perturbed now based on some tweets Wonder what his deal is worth....I'd say has to be around 200k
  4. I'd say other than Bryant..the most important re-sign of the off season
  5. Yeah for whatever reason he seemed to have a different demeanor in the games last year....I was shocked actually. Not sure if he didn't want to make a mistake so he reigned things in or what...but to me he looked like a totally different QB He has the skill set...and should know the system...If he doesn't really light it up this camp I see him as being gone...which is too bad
  6. actually in game time Apodaca made Lefevours regular season work look like Montana...Apodaca couldn't make a pass if his life depended on it Davis moved ball quite well and looked very poised
  7. Benedict Ibisi was a very good lineman...but his passport worked against him...and the position he played (center)
  8. If Bryant was to go down in a game Hardrick I would think would shift over..and Neufeld to Right Tackle...any extended time off then in comes Foketti...and I'd be fine on that. To be honest..Foketti would start at a tackle position on any team in the league last year...and this year as well...he is a real luxury that we have been able to keep him satisfied for 3 years now and not have bolted on us
  9. pretty sure he knows now that if he wants to be on an active roster he doesn't really hold any negotiating power...it's come down to take it or leave it for best deal he's gonna receive
  10. always thought he would be a better back-up option than Glenn...so now here's our chance...If he had to start a few games he would give us a chance to win...and last year fiasco in Mtl was a team effort in futility...almost looked at times guys on offence couldn't give a eff
  11. 28 for a rb..should be right in his prime...plus low mileage on him...he prob 2 good years as a feature guy in him easily
  12. he should balk...he not gonna get it either way....so cut ties and work out something with a different team
  13. so now experts...who is our veteran back-up option
  14. With Walker..Bowman..Reilly..Gable.. (guys who are already signed) you have a lot of cash locked up. Reilly signed a 3 year deal in 2016 paying him 400k...years 2 and 3 bump him over 500k per year So 500 for Reilly..250ish for Bowman..200 for Walker and prob 80-90 if not more for Gable you have over 1 million tied up in 4 guys alone...not leaving a lot of flexibilty...I sure Grymes signed for decent money too. Thats some pretty scary SMS issues there if you ask me.
  15. thers a good chance he was told that he is back in TC...would have no issue with that...he has some potential
  16. What do you mean by that? He hasn't and can't sign there at moment
  17. I still just not sure why he would be so agreeable to renegotiate when he wouldn't before. If Rider's didn't like his stance or demands, they would have to let him go..freeing him to negotiate wherever for the best deal he could get, and am sure Montreal would match beat whatever the Rider's offered. They gave up the first pick in the second round and I believe they have minimal picks this year...so would be a real dumb move if they lost him. I cant see him accepting anything less than 375 as a base with some easy to hit bonuses to get closer to 450...coupled with I am sure a significant raise for Bridge it be a safe bet they are going to be in the 500k range this year for their top 2 QB's and the end of their cheaping out at that position
  18. easy to say when u got trade there and have nowhere else other than montreal either
  19. I think both....and was schemed as such to try and cover up his shortcomings in the flats in coverage and and tracking/flowing to the ball...i guess they figured if he could plug a hole and stop the run at the line we could use others elsewhere to manage other areas...but he generally just got lost in the wash along the line and was inneffective. I also think thats why you always seemed to see guys free in the flats, and over the middle for easy completions because we had nobody there, and Loffler was used to clean it up, but also had to play back a bit to respect the deep routes and offer over the top help...such a flawed scheme
  20. Yea to have a Ty Jones type again would be something...Brash and mean on the field..relentlessness on every play...just made all around him better. He was actually a guy that players truly feared on the field...and he was a even better guy off it! So many goodtimes we had at Strawberries back in the day...if many of you recall that place
  21. Leggett hasn't been sketchy games wise...played in 16 games..17 games..17 games and 13 games last year. Can't ask for much more than that playing the position he does which is one of the more physical ones on defense where you are involved in a lot of contact. Also I think for most of the signings so far the majority of the increases went toward the 2017 SMS...so most likely there will be a fair amount left over for free-agency. Also salaries from perhaps JFG..Hurl..Thomas..Bond will be off the books moving forward and the amounts above minimum can be relocated elsewhere
  22. Actually if anything a good depth signing...and we generally use an extra import on the roster to sub in and on teams and he could fit that role very well, if he doesn't "earn" a starting spot...also we don't know if Legget will be available to start the season but my gut says he will be. We also did...and may migrate to a lot more 3-4 sets with a change in philosophy and he would slot in nicely there too...none the less he is great on teams...a leader...can long snap and leads by example too...
  23. Probably the most difficult position on the defence..especially for Americans coming up is the halfback pisition. That's a non existent position coming from American ball and the extra man..motion..looks and coverage/run support responsibilities are all new basically...and when you find good halfbacks who can absorb this and function well you do your best to keep them
  24. I'm fine with this actually..and agree a lot of the yards that piled up was due to lack of execution. Watching a lot of the games over and and noticed significant number of plays where if Hurl had more athletism and for lack of better term talent that many a play would have been stuffed for no gain or minimal and a lot of time it was on 2nd down and would have got us ball back and limited clock eating drives. Same with Thomas..sure he made some nice plays but too many times he got washed away or nullified..especially when he was getting more reps in a game and that was a lack of execution issue due to ratio/depth...especially after Westerman got hurt. Fogg and Walker too..inexperience caused a lot of execution issues that if they did things right..wwould have been a positive defensive play. As for scape goats..noone is really saying the coaches not being brought back are being used as that.. but perhaps Missick wasn't getting things across good enough to have our guys positioned better or coached up better...we don't know the inner workings of things and can only speculate...same with Howard but again who knows. I do know though that once we altered ratio and went basically with 4 imports on d-line and rotated the ends inside and out..dropping into flats etc and bringing Knox off the edge as a rusher (which he did very well and was very disruptive..watch film and see) we had arguably one of the best fronts for the last 4-5 games of season...and that can be attributed to Hall I can guarantee that..so he can change his philosophy and mindset...and given a true MLB and continued work upfront.. and some Oshea input/tweaks I see good things happening.. .and if they stink the joint well..Hall can be scapegoated then. The real wild card is Younger...I LOVE this signing.. he is a great coach and you will see it reflected in our DB play this year. People I have talked to say he is a great mind and has a real progressive vision and coaching philosophy...he is a real good candidate to become the next Orlondo Stienhauer..just u watch
