  1. a safety rarely is a focal point, or the reason that a defense is great vs good vs awful...and if the safety is the linchpin your defense is in serious trouble anyway. Pretty sure the likes of Biggie..Jefferson..Jeffcoat..Fenner..Sayles..Alexander will more than make up for whomever is at safety...our safety this year will be playing more of a centerfielder role this year..flowing to plays and being available for over the top help...I have no concerns
  2. do you have concrete proof of this?...numbers to back it up?
  3. well whats your point though...the Bombers had more or less already met the league requirements due to having quality coaches and not over spending stupidly...even though they could have put motre into it with their "unlimited" funds as well...don't understand your comments
  4. Yeah prior to him being commissioner the bombers colluded with him to set themselves up..is that what you are implying?. Sure sounds like it..I thought you had more sense and intelligence than most of that clan on your forum..
  5. how many of their starting O-line are returnees...it will take several games at least for all the new pieces to mesh and give Reilly significant time
  6. add to it the big replacement..Johnson doesn't have the supporting cast that he had in CGY...so he certainly will have lesser numbers...and who knows what Hughes has left...he burns out by mid season last 2 years and being a year older..can't see that trend reversing Jefferson allowed that defense to do a lot of different things, and truthfully Eguavoen was probably their best all around defender too..so AC Leonard and whoever replaces Eguavoen is a major downgrade from last year...
  7. Strevler
  8. Yeah shocked on that one actually..
  9. That's why I'd bring in Johnson. Or MTl draft pick Osie Kusi that they cut..big target.. fast..hands need work but would be a nice addition to groom non the less
  10. As well as bennet and Bridge to be honest..if collaros goes down..which he will they are screwed
  11. Seeing as bc dumped shaq Johnson.. a national receiver I'd be all over that
  12. I doubt an over 31 Johnson is gonna put up the same type numbers without the supporting cast like he had in CGY...that supporting cast in SSK is gonna leave him doing all the heavy lifting there..plus looking at your offence the defense gonna ge on field...a lot..and wear down..Hughes will dissapear sooner than he has the last 2 yrs
  13. I hope tho that the release of Bryant and Mcalister doeant indicate we are starting a national at DT..though with Jake only national on active roster it would seen Richardson won out the spot with Jake as rotation which I fine with. Richardson was a true beast and lined up with Nevis who is unsung hero we will get some major push for our ends to clean up and have Biggie come clean on blitz.. I wouldn't be surprised to see double digit or close to it sack totals for him I do like how we allocated our or PR too..and glad it looks to be Baikey as the 5th I bet and Lucky rotating in as a DI Bailey wasnt targeted much in preseason but staff knows what they have there..just watch that once the real bullits start flying with the starting offence he's gonna shine
  14. gaga over a 33 year old thigpen...soon to be 32 yr old Powell and a yet unknown as to who rookie import as a backup...yup..best in league by far lol like over half their projected starters are 31 and above..thats an old arsed team who will be pouncing on table scrap cuts trying to get depth..or younger i dont think i even heard Hughes or AC Leonards name called all game....not a good sign either
  15. No shocks there other than Boynton...for a 22 yr old I thought he showed well
  16. isnt Streveler listed at #3 at $8692? thats what my roster selections show me
  17. Riders ran a lot last year..second only to us, and wasn't an issue as to why offence sucked...it was QB'ing and Coordinating...and having to work fast behind a weak o-line...So swapping in Powell for Mason/Marshall/Thigpen and having same QB..O.C and arguably a weaker receiving corp and O-line...can't see that offence lighting things up
  18. even the starting lineup was lean with guys with any experience...a Reilly...BLM...even Harris and Nichols would have carved that up working with their projected offensive starters..wins and losses mean jack in the pre-season but losing at home...with most your starters against bubble guys and never were gonna make it guys...has to be troublesome. I know if that was reversed and we lost a similar game..I'd be very bothered and not too optimistic
  19. Best scenario is to keep it as status quo...and put McGuire on the PR as we normally have a QB there so that would be the obvious choice..Bennet offers more at this point not just as a QB and is also more familiar with the league..teams..and offence
  20. Bryant and Fenner were only guys who will have starter reps and had any signficant playing time before...so the optimism there should be tempered...but false sense of security is a good thing hahaha
  21. EXACTLY...Plus people over look the fact the right read was made and the ball went to the right "open" guy...no wind those are both caught
  22. find it interesting that the Sask media thinks their offence will be fine and that Collaros looks like the real deal after that performance, against a group of guys who largely will be cuts and PR guys..that false sense of calm and happiness will turn into dire reality in Hamilton...I don't see it and when that Ol-ine couldnt keep our D-line at bay from pressure with all our subs...imagine when the starters are in there with Biggie
  23. Nichols will be fine...has regained mobility so isn't a stationary duck and that wind last night was tough to gauge....once settled in with his o-line..his regular skill guys, and the whole playbook...I'm not too concerned
