Most likely running the short yardage packages and staying in like last year, and I can see it expanded on as well. I would think this year as well..Oshea may give him more meaningfull game reps when game is out of hand on the scoreboard
-
did you calculate the 1 in 5?..lol....a lot of his were developing plays down the filed or off in the flats...not a qb receiving the snap...turning to his right and tossing all in a second. And if you would honestly say that you would not swap the sask o-line for the winnipeg one..man for man...then you must really have the mentality of most on Rider fans..
-
well when you run less offensive plays over course of season, use a dumb 80% hitch/screen/dump off offence where qb has ball in his hand for maybe one second (due to crappy o-line) yeah u may see fewer sacks....I seem to recall we led league in rushing..scored most points...and re-watch how that oline totally manhandled your vaunted d-line in the WSF...not to mention what...3 all-stars?...seems to me one team had a far superior o-line 😉

If the Bombers are smart, and Streveler shows more improvement and progression this year, and that he can run the offence then Walter's should be in his ear late in season saying that they will extend him for 2020 as the starter, and once season ends at some point move Nichols for whatever we can get, or outright release him if he doesn't agree to restructure as a veteran back-up
-
all I gotta say tho...sure glad we are in the situation we are, and have the structure in the front office and down the coaching ranks we have
-
as sad as it sounds..I think Glenn is their best hope...he can at least perform adequately with minimal surrounding cast, and a poorer OC..whereas Jennings needs great support and a mentor to help him...or he flounders badly..Franklin isn't going anywhere now Trestman is gone...
-
I would think too Macadoo is sort of a lame duck dead man walking guy there as well....many there say he was only there because he was Jones's BFF I would also think...any other team part way through the season who had offensive stats and ineptidude like they did would have made a mid-season change...so pretty certain next year regardless what goes on this year will be an offensive tear down there, and zero stability...hardly a drawing power for any QB to want to sign there this year
-
Lapo doesn't own Streveler nor does he handle Bomber contracts, and I am sure when Walter's talks to Strev about an extension, and if (from what it sounds like) he wants to make the CFL his career for the foreseeable future then he will be extended/locked up prior to the end of the 2019 season. No way..shape or form does lapo leaving in the winter of 2019/2020 signify that we will lose Streveler...also as stated...the Riders will not hire a place holder in hopes of landing "their guy" next year..it would be a detriment to anything they want to build in 2019
-
whats he running from??...lol
-
Yeah Jones is a good DC...That being said a lot of what they did last year was luck based as well and even if he was back, would not have been duplicated...I think he was a below average HC and a horrible GM and was a huge reason for that unbalanced line-up...all eggs thrown into defense and even then thin depth as most of year played without an extra DB and inadequate depth behind the dline that was raking in about 500kplus a year of their SMS
-
Well I dont agree with that.. neufeld is already under contract so I doubt we lose goose and chungh
-
GEE...The hits just keep coming from out west.....just gets better and better...what a smoldering pile that Organization is

Huge

Seems as generally shortly after we announce a veteran release and SMS money freed up it usually coincides with free agent extension shortly after..(Leggett/Randle) .Bryant/hardrick and Biggie Wondering if the freeing up of Wilds salary may be an indication of money freed up for a Chungh and or Goosen signing, or a Loffler or Demski?

Things don't happen that fast...and you know damn well Jones had an idea, or knew he had an opportunity, but under his current deal couldn't take advantage of it...some reports say they asked permission on the saturday as well. Regardless of what spin Jones tries to put on it who can really believe him based on his past track record of bolting, and his caught red-handed several times trying to circumvent league rules, and lack of truthfulness. He was just looking out for himself like he always did, and I bet this position that was created will be yanked away just as quickly as it appeared..then he is back looking for work
-
and isn't able to sign with anyone else...so would think Durant is in same boat..
-
i believe if you leave a team like he did...with a year on a contract....you belong to that team if you decide to un-retire down the road and still owe them that year...thats how it used to be. If you didn't have that then if a guys was unhappy with a team and wanted to leave he would just sit out and then go wherever he wanted...I could be wrong and things changed now but I would think it's still the same
-
Yeah..we own him..if he was able to slither off you would have guys pulling that crap all the time.. if someone wants him..or more so if he is just itching to get back..well then the bombers should make all parties involved pay..
-
I don't believe he will be...he's on the suspended/retired list as he for a lack of a better term "quit" on his team.....so if he ever decides to come back to play again down the road...he still owes that one year. Thats how it has been for ever, unless something has changed...bout doubt it...that is why we kept his rights
-
I hope Durant wants to come back and play somewhere...and glad we hung onto him and I hope we play hardball for the crap he pulled...and as well for the Juvenile comments he made on twitter. We hold his rights...so if he wants to play somewhere as teams will have a need..tell him to go negotiate a deal, and then we will trade his arse for something of value..we have him over a barrel so to speak, and a desperate team may look to move an asset or something of value
-
of all our National talent..Simonese is the guy I am most excited/intrigued about..I watched a lot of camp..and practice and just watching him you know he is going to be good...if you didn't know who was who you would peg him as an import. The fire is there obviously as he played the teams and worked hard at it, and when thrown two (albeit only 5 or 6 times) he made most of his opportunity... Last year was is getting back to football mindset/shape and his re-introduction to a system and structure as he was basically on the shelf for 2 years...and from what I have heard from some people I have spoken with if not for his PED incident the Bengals would have kept him around as they loved his skillset and the untapped potential...also to consider how many Canadian University/Jumior football kids who play wideout actually get into game action in an NFL training camp...very very few...and invites to those camps pre mini camp don't count as they are basically meaningless.
-
interesting to find out that medlock has signed in around the 130-135k range...very affordable for what he gives you, and when you consider he does all 3 jobs, where some teams have to employ 2 to do that..even better value as you have most likely have 1 guy making the equivalent, and in many cases less than 2 guys combined on another roster as separate specialists
-
and really he doesn't need to be...especially if we land a stud....but even so if we don't he is still primed for a big year now...He will be a better version of Fantuz in my opinion...which will be a very nice piece to the puzzle

having continuity with your management staff...and treating players right goes a long way
