Hopefully if and when Strev is back they do focus more on things with him as a true QB (which he is more than capable enough of) and shelve the gimmicky crap Lapo had him doing. Let him be a QB who can torch you with his legs if need be when th pocket breaks down and or nothing is there as well as designed runs and option stuff...but build the basis of the offence around a normal game plan....you do this, and let him grow, with his run threat there, he could become lethal

I'm not sure anymore..too many changes..tweeks, misinterpretations...can't keep track
-
my interpretation is that as well..you have to have at least 2...3 is "not" required as it used to be, so that spot can be used for whatever. But you can use it as a 3rd if you want to..some team will..some will take advantage of that spot and dress a different player they may not have been able to roster before. If the Bombers are smart now, and Streveler is back they should designate him as something else, but say he is the "3rd stringer" technically, and then can play him whenever they choose with another QB on the field, or use him as QB2...Nowhere in the rules say that if your QB1 goes down you have to use your QB2...you could put in whoever you want technically...would be dumb as hell but not against the rules
-
Loophole to dress Strev as a non QB and have him on field at anytime.. at the sake of who or what on roster but is intruiging option
-
Nick Taylor as well if re-signed...lots of options

CFL News Conference in Montreal This Morning
Booch replied to SpeedFlex27's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He actually meant to say Rider's I believe....small slip up but forgivable -
Basically it was his read progression and his inexperience with it...get that solved and he will be fine. He was not used to, and experienced in the route progressions and timing and it affected his read, and a lot of time he would be like "oh!! there it is" and would a lot of times rush things and throw balls being not set, and having no base, or platform to make the throw properly..resulting in what we saw...somethng that is easily fixed with time and reps, and we have seen already. He needs to slow himself down, then the game will slow down for him...

How About that Other Worldly Play-Off Defense?
Booch replied to Wanna-B-Fanboy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No catch..have to survive contact..which he clearly doesn't -
No..but Lapo over used him and neglected other aspects of the offence..and with more variation and more uncertainty where the ball is going will actually make Harris's touches more productive as he cant be keyed on 80 percent of time like in Lapos offence
-
Yeah...was a piece of trash for sure...but that 6000 yard thing was just ridiculous
-
Got a good laugh outta Nyes latest article on bold predictions...saying Fajardo throws for 6000 yards..lol Who's blocking for him at moment and who is he throwing to as all of any note are free agents...
-
He technically is...but just consider him back for 2020.. trust me
-
Adam's sets the tone for the receivers.. the grit and dirty yards and is a lethal blocker..which runs off on the others..I hope he is back..with some solid pieces around him..and our ryn game..he doesnt need to be a elite #1 guy..I think we have guys on roster now to be that guy..or one of the newbies..some inruiging guys coming to camp

We will have our whole starting oline back from grey cup. And 2 solid backups..no worries there. Hopefully too we see more of Augustine for different looks..and sets with Oliviera to tenderize the meat for Harris

Yeah Willie has had one workout...not multiple and workouts in NFL never get cut short..or rarely get cut short unless said player is atrocious or injured. And he has to be on a roster..or it's nothing and he cant be at league minimum either..I think he is more hoping..than it is negotiating and too bad for him cause he is NFL talent..but he is also in the NFL a situational guy so that too is against him..his role could be done by a rookie at minimum salary and able to be swapped back an forth on a PR..Willie cant.. And loss of wage is a big concern.. he may get a tiny bonus but if he works all through camp entirely and gets cut..he isnt being paid and more or less would be out well over 6 figures for the year from a CFL deal for signed for 2020 and would prob if lucky get a third of what he would have got if he ends up back here..that's a big hit. I also hope regardless of what Willie does that McAllister is brought back

Yeah he is hopeful.. very different than it being emminant...there are a lot of things working against him too that aren't with guys like Rose and Sayles Also he will need a pretty fair commitment to sign..and there only so much allotted for that...and there is the dead money factor...he may sign with a "bonus" of say 100 000k but only a small part of it ..say 5..maybe 10 k will be paid up front as teams only have about 94k to use for free agent signing bonuses so they give a small fraction upfront to maximize amount of guys they can bring to camp...rest is potential dead money...what that means if they are cut/released the team has to pay them out the balance over 5 years against their cap...and teams want minimal dead money kicking around as it really messes their SMS...so Willie is in a tough spot As for Bryant..he is back.. will be announced prior to Feb free agency and having the entire starting oline from grey cup back..as well as the back ups is huge

Med's likes it here..wants to win and is a true teamate...so re-structuring to keep prominent pieces, or to get a new piece is something he'd do...It's something him and Bryant have done previously here before as well to help the team,

If we can easily replace Canadian starters..and top notch ones at that I have no worries with DB's as we may have some options in house already, and there is some nice talent that will be available Also players talk and the chance to play for Oshea..and as well learn from Younger and you can bet that has been communicated between players on the Bombers to the guys in league they know to tell them as Willie put it "come on down to Winnipeg"

Evan's ..Mincey and Dozier would be great fits I think....even Kahheh would be a nice addition for the 2 open spots now Marshall I think is a bit overated, also tends to be a selfish player...would need an attitude check to play in Winnipeg

Yeah forgot to mention in my post cost wise we can prob save a few bucks with a free agent pickup who can give us similar production, and still allow us to have that NFL cut-down money to possibly bring one of them back if they are freed up after NFL camps...

Hecht being replaced was a huge upgrade...he was such a liability out there in coverages. The two guys we are losing will hurt, but we could have a TC surprise, plus there are a whack of good DB's available who would prob love to come here and play. Personally I would look to target Ciante Evans as a Rose replacement, and prob will cost us about the same price, Even Jonathon Rose outta Ottawa would be a decent replacement at a cheaper price tag. Mincey as well is available and one I would look at if I was Walters at the HB spot, as well as Dozier in BC...he'd be the perfect replacement for Alexander at safety (if our ratio can allow it) and a backfield of one of Evans/J.Rose and Mike Jones on the corners with Alexander and Mincey at the Half's would not be too shabby in the least..Plus we may still have Taylor in the mix, and though he is over 30 now hasn't lost a step yet and played well...plus consistency is important too while we fine tune the backfield, much like we did this year

No I sure we wont stand pat..Mike Jones has emerged and can easily replace one or other..also Alexander can play either spot too..if we flip the safety back to a National spot (not named Hecht) Rios as well has great potential and tho exposed a bit late in yr that was more due to inexperience and the fact our safety at the time couldn't cut it. Not too worried about the defensive back losses to be honest...it sucks but that's the business...
