The tech required to basically mute the horn noise isn't particularly difficult - I'm quite certain the frequency distribution is pretty sharp (part of why it's so "loud" is because our ears are really good at hearing something which is significantly louder in a single frequency band - If you've ever been to Thompson you hear the main exhaust fans for the Vale mine clear as day because the noise they make has a sharp peak at 240 Hz. Crowd noise is pretty much the opposite - very flat frequency distribution with a slight preference to lower frequency (<250 Hz) It should be very easy to identify the frequency band the horn is in and filter it out WITHOUT lowering the volume of the crowd noise (which adds to the TSN broadcast IMO)

Yeh - Grant looked a little lost as a receiver out there early but second half mostly made up for it. On the fumble play where he made the tackle I don't understand where he was actually supposed to be.... was that intended to be a screen play to him? His curl routes are NOT it though..... doesn't know what to do after he runs the route.

Yeh it doesn't look like we're getting Alford back anytime soon...

Yup - There is a good chance we lose 2 or 3 games earlier in the season without Ellingson. He's currently 4th in the league for yards and TD's and still our leading receiver w.r.t. total passes caught. Probably one of the league leaders in 2nd down conversions as well. Schoen is only barely ahead of Ellingson with two more games played. I'm hard pressed to see a scenario where he ends up being a disappointing signing where I think we overpaid unless he somehow sits on the 1-game for the next 13 games (which would really be more of a knock on whomever was managing his injury not 6-gaming him)

Probably because 5 years later a guy whose game relies on speed alone has probably lost a step whereas a guy whose game relies on understanding and good fundamentals has probably improved those elements from experience.

I was pretty happy with Ellingson signing right from the start - basically assumed that his down year in stats was from being on a VERY bad Elks team last year. Biggie blowing up a REC and forcing an incompletion/fumble/interception says more about Biggie than it says about the receiver getting blown up. Look at what he did to Dunbar this year.

You could have said the same thing about Yoshi before he came here - Stints in BC and SSK where he didn't show enough to keep a spot.

Looking at the TICats- It's easy to see why it still feels like they are a better team than their record - Bad teams aren't competing for the league lead in fewest penalties/penalty yards per game.

Triple coverage is a stretch, two defenders were 5-7 yards from the REC where he would have caught the ball - Actually looking at the play more closely I kind of think the receiver is much more at fault than I first realized. Davis starts his throwing motion with the receiver moving to his right at speed - The receiver stopped as he started his throwing motion. Not 100% but if the receiver hadn't stopped Davis' throw would have been MUCH more accurate. Check the recap at 8:27 - I'm not entirely sure why the REC slowed up when he did, he was VERY open if he kept running full speed.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a bad decision... He was throwing to an open slant that was going to catch the ball 2 yards from the endzone If he hits his guy in stride with accuracy his REC just needs to power through 1 guy to get the TD, if he goes down quick they get 1 more shot from 1-2 yards out. Also don't know where the open receiver was relative to his defender when he started his throwing motion... might not have made the break inside yet and only looked as open as he did because his defender was reacting to Davis throwing the slant

Thompson had by far his best game of the year against EDM I thought

yeh missed the open receiver he was throwing to by a country mile.... on top of a missing an even more open receiver in the back of the end zone

I think part of Thomas having a knockout season this year has been the extra attention teams are paying to our DE's on the edge.

Especially since GB was already stacked at linebacker + had drafted a number of high picks at the position in recent history Everything lined up perfectly injury wise to give him a chance at seeing the field.

I get the feeling MOS doesn't yell at his guys... he gives them the "I'm disappointed" look when they screw up. I bet most players would prefer getting screamed at to getting that look from a guy they respect (and therefore work harder to not get the look vs. not get yelled at)

Mulumba wasn't a bad pick TBH - he just barely caught on in the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Packers. That doesn't happen and there is a extremely good chance he plays in Blue and Gold (and based on the little bit of time he played in the NFL, would have shown well in the CFL). We even got a little unlucky - if the Packer's hadn't had the freak occurrence of all their linebackers getting injured it's entirely likely Mulumba would never have gotten off the practice roster... Never gets off the practice roster means he probably doesn't get a look after GB which maybe means he's maybe still looking to play football after the NFL was done with him in 2014/2015.

TBH - I'd like to see him get a full season + pension with the Jets this year and sign with us halfway through next year... Zack will be 35/36 next year... Give Strev a full season and a half as an active backup and maybe a transition year with ZC/Strev as an A/B qb combo. Don't see ZC playing much past 38 tbh.

yeh KSB is a damn good receiver - maybe the best Nat Rec in the league. Cofaj has the benefit of much better processing and mobility vs. Doegala - Which is entirely to be expected for a young QB on his first start without significant starter reps. Doegala throws with good velocity and once he calmed down his accuracy wasn't terrible (the corner route TD he threw was quite nice). That being said, the CFL QB cast-off graveyard is littered with guys who can throw a good ball but can't process a defense at a pro level. Doegala is definitely looking like a guy who needs a couple years as backup before he's even close to being ready.

Yeh could be broken... could of messed up his knee too... the replay looked bad

The replay on the ankle roll looked nasty... wouldn't be shocked if something was broken

Yup - Neither of his INT's against Ham were bad ones. TBH there should almost be a stat line for INT's caused by receiver drops like the one to Lucky (or our game finisher in Calgary) since those are fundamentally different from an INT where the QB threw the ball to a defender. The second INT was a sick play from the HAM safety... the other team is playing too. Yeh Adam's dropping the TD in the endzone to lose the game is rough
