I don’t know whose bright idea this is, but you’re right. Leave the stories for side shows. The value of the game itself more than carries its share of entertainment.
And please, no more in game interviews. They are entertainment killers..

The biggest problem TSN has is that they try to be the entertainment rather than letting the game be the entertainment. They pick a player or a story of the night and never deviate from the script. It's awful broadcasting. They would be better off just calling the game as it is and letting the game tell the story.

TSN needs competition. Maybe because the league is so small and so much of TSN/League's energy is devoted to getting cozy with players in return for access but sometimes broadcasts come accross as a sewing circle...clucking praise with oh so gentle criticism.
Maybe with a competitor there could be a little more sandpaper and call out league BS and jackass players when needed.

At least guys like Climie and Sanchez have the capacity to put some thought into what they are saying, Burris and Schultz are just idiots saying the most superficial thing as if it was hard hitting in depth stuff.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I'm not the biggest fan of Doug Brown on the radio either. Guy is a smart and knows what's going on but I find he simply talks too much and tries to use too many big words when it's not needed. If he'd keep things short and to the point he'd be really good but he rambles too much.

thankfully now that "apparent"scheme can be abolished never to be mentioned again!! That was the biggest load of crap I have ever heard, I have played in a lot of systems and a lot of schemes and that was basically Oshea falling on the sword for Hall and Hurl and covering up for his deficiencies as we had to end up startig him as things didn't pan out with other mlb candidates...and our ratio.

we call that pulling a milt. never forget on the previous play edm did the exact same thing, milt was open and kg missed him. how on earth you see that once and call the same defense on the next play I will never know.
A blink is when the other team plays cover 0, goes full run blitz and you still some how run up the gut and go un touched for a touch down.
    Off sides? thats a willis.
    soo much yes.

WildPath reacted to Bud Ross in Back Up QB
My name is Bud Ross and I'm Alex Ross' grandfather.
The competition for the QB backup slot at training camp will  be intense.
Here's  a brief introduction  of Alex with some history:
As a freshman at Alpharetta High school, Alpharetta, Ga.,
he led the freshman team to an undefeated season.
Coaching changes at Alpharetta, prompted him to transfer
To Buford High School, Buford, Ga.
Because of transfer rules, he couldn’t play varsity until his junior year.
He led Buford to Georgia State championships his junior and senior years.
He virtually owns the record book at Coastal Carolina University.
He thinks, lives, and breathes football.
    Happy to be on board,
    Bud Ross

His petulant retaliatory behaviour on Twitter the last two days is actually sickening. There's no defending or justifying what he's done. You're done with football...? That's fine. But show some goddamned class and be a ******* man about it. What kind of self-respecting professional athlete bails on the one team who gave you the opportunity to continue your CFL career, greedily keep money you absolutely don't deserve, and then proceed to take childish digs at that very team...?
What a pathetic, disgraceful, *****-made piece of ****.

That's exactly right.  Kyle, very politely and very professionally, just effectively told Hardaway that he doesn't appreciate the way Hardaway is playing the game.   He virtually told all the other teams what he was willing to pay, and that it was in fact a big, generous offer, but that the Bombers are not going to get into a bidding war.   He left the door open just enough that Muamba can come back in if he wants to, but there are no further negotiations to be had.    Well Done Mr. Walters!

I believe this type of thread shows up every December...  so we're right on schedule...
Then a few signings are announced just before/after Christmas...   but the forum still rumbles - panic continues...
Most of our big name free agents are signed just before FA with one real head shaker...  forum argues over that one decision
Walters grabs 2 big names and 2 not so big in FA...  forum agrees Walters is a genius then we argue about Joe Mack
Walters make a fairly small trade like getting a 4th round pick for some dude...  forum hails him as a genius
Coaching personnel decisions takes a long time... panic ensues...  new assistant hired...  forum argues
Someone asks what happened to Nasty Nate...  someone else complains about how bad this board is getting (unlike the old days)
Draft occurs and we all hail it as one of the most 'solid' drafts in recent history...  forum rejoices in Walters' genius - then we argue about Taman
A long-winded thread starts about Cal Murphy and Don Jonas in a subtle attempt to show just who the real fans are here... and then its pre-season!!!

Pretty nice indication of where a team is at talent and coach wise when chosen by the Players Association
Nice for Moe too...recognition from his peers probably means more as well...they are the guys in the league who really know who the true ballers are anyway

Bumping this topic because he's our warrior behind centre. Dude played with a broken finger, lower body injury, and still played great. Dude named his little girl (middle name) Winnie for Winnipeg. This guy is the starting QB we've needed desperately for years and it looks like he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Matt deserves a half way decent defense and he deserves some more depth at the WR position. But regardless I wanted to once again give thsi dude mad props. What a year, what a leader. Thank you for saving us from Drew Willy and god knows what we'd be like without him.

I didn't notice Nichols having problems being clobbered when he was passing, or a lack of running room for Harris, last game or two when Neufeld was playing.

Two good signings. I think people need to remember that Neufeld is a solid potential starter, excellent 6th man and he plays an important mentorship/leadership role on the OL.

I reserve judgement on personnel because I don’t feel they were consistently being put in a position to succeed.
    That said ...
For as much as I love Loffler and his physical style of play, he’s not a coverage safety and is a liability at times.  He’s probably best suited closer to the line of scrimmage in run support.
Sam ******* Hurl.  I’ve railed against that guy for years now and this season hasn’t changed my mind. I expect MORE from that position.
Alexander / Walker. Both guys are young and are only going to get better. Both played very well in stretches but both showed their inexperience at times.
This season turned the moment Mo (and to a lesser extent Westerman) went down. That guy is the heart and soul of that defense and without him .. they just had nobody that players could rally around.
