WildPath reacted to Noeller in Around The League Off Season Discussion
It's more like Burns detailing his idea for idea for the nuclear plant softball team:
Cap Anson, Honus Wagner, Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown!!
Uhhh sir, these players have long since retired, and uh... Well, your right fielder's been dead for 130 years...

Jones: Have we heard back from Johnny Unitas yet?
Underling: Sir, he's dead...
Jones: STILL?!

I suspect Reynolds future with the riders is tied to the fate of Jones, so while I understand the attempt to try and save face with the disappointed comments, reality is he will continue to give Jones a long leash until the BOD cracks down with another losing season. He might be absolved of what he inherited in the gong show that was 2015, but giving jones full power and the keys to the franchise is all on him.
I've read a few comments over the last while of people comparing the rebuild to the bombers results under O'Shea (first 2 season were losers, but turned it around in year 3) as reason to be patient and stay the course because the results will come one day, but the biggest difference I see is Walters is a better GM at this point between the 2. With the way Jones is so brash, arrogant and defiant of the rules, I honestly don't think he will be able to turn around the mess he made, and yes even tho Taman may have inflated some contracts, a lot of what has happened to that roster to the point its at now is self inflicted by Jones.
It's just amazing that so many rider fans have their lips puckered to and heads firmly up Jones' ass. He has done sweet F'all so far while employed by the riders. Scrap heapin 99% of their roster and racking up tons of fines all the while tarnishing their brand and image. I get people will always cheer for the logo, not the name on the door, but the support he gets is ridiculous and based on things he's done for other organizations.

Desjardins basically said our Canadian content was the sh*ts. He took Kohlert (a pending free agent) in the expansion draft because there was nobody else worth taking.

Bob's been part time for years now...he's 70 for Christ's sake! He's earned it. Now, I agree, the staff they DO have on full time should be doing more in the offseason, but Bob, for his age, is pretty active on social media. He almost always has something posted on Twitter when there's a Bombers announcement of some kind.
Having said that, when the season begins again, there's nobody better (Tait, maybe) than Bob for knowledge of the team and the league....the dude just gets it. Way better than anyone else in radio/TV/print...

No, that is the answer to the question, who should replace Chris Jones as Head Coach and GM in Saskatchewan.

As someone who does not have time check the board multiple times per day or even per week, I appreciate the dedicated threads for cfl news. It's hard to catch up in a single thread starting a few days back. And personally I like the feeling that the board is busier even if it's not really. And it no where close to how many threads a nasty fellow would start in a day or perhaps an hour in a years gone by.

what they don't say is that $2.7 million of that profit came from concession sales during the 3 hour delay in the Hamilton home game...

When I drive directly from work to the stadium traffic speeds up the closer I get to the stadium.
Traffic into the stadium is significantly faster than rush hour traffic.

The media did the Bombers no favours that first year as they hunted down the negative stories to blow up. Traffic is a lot better now. Significantly better in fact. I live in the area and it was a no-go zone that first year. Now, its barely an issue to drive the area before/after a game.
The rapid transit station will help too. But that doesnt change the original issue of who's paying to put buses there.

The larger issue is there is already a narrative out there that the stadium location sucks and the traffic in and out of games is horrendous because of how poorly it was planned in season 1.
Getting in and out has improved by leaps and bounds but it isn't as easy as saying double the park n ride cost because there are already a contingent of fans looking for excuses to stay at home and not go to games. That is reality of that location right now
Start putting a consistent winning product on the field again, and they can probably start to raise prices for the bus.
