Week 2 Other Games (Als vs Ott Sask vs TO Ham vs BC)

one on hand I feel really good for Ottawa fans and that organization, and city. They deserve some success after the clown show argument they've had. on the other.. god damn. unreal to watch what a competent and well run management structure can accomplish. -
Week 2 Other Games (Als vs Ott Sask vs TO Ham vs BC)

montreal looks like trash. isnt that surprising. -
Sure if you want to disagree with my use of the term garbage time, I'll give you that. It was 22-4 when the 4th quarter started, and there was very little reason to believe that our offence would suddenly click and turn it on. Montreal eased up on the gas and Winnipeg made it close, and when the going got tough we had multiple shots at getting the game to overtime or winning but couldn't get it done. Did Willy and company finally get their act together, or, did Montreal let up after watching a total clown show for 3 quarters? The truth is likely a little of both but the lions share is , in my opinion, the clown show option. If you want to really talk about how silly things are here on this forum, the hysterics over benign and uncontroversial statements like mine are a good place to start.
-
*redacted*. If your down multiple scores in the 4th the opposing team gets lazy and usually, not always, gets softer. Im not trying to make anything up or for a narrative. We made it close late in the game when Montreal would have geared down and when it got close, Willy et all was unable to tie it. Amazed at the venomous replies, frankly I edited my post to frankly try and bring some civility back. Again, repeat, I'm not looking to discredit Willy and the O for the sake of being negative and a contrarian. I think any reasonable football fan will agree that if the game is multiple scores difference, and our O has scored but 1 single field goal up to part way thru the 4th, that if the game gets close it`s hard to hitch your wagon to that as a success. Will it carry over? Maybe. I doubt it. Betting odds on it wouldn't be that high. Talk about wanting to post less because of me writing that is, in itself, hysterical nonsense worthy of "leave brittany alone". Talk about paper thin skin.

The score was 24-4 when we scored a 4th quarter TD. To me that's garbage time. I guess if you want to find positives, go ahead. Be my guest.
-
Any serious football fan knows that garbage time points are just that-- garbage.

He was heavily disliked as the OC, so I'm not surprised. -
Posters: Whats different this young season?
White Out replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This is a good post and it gave me pause to consider my own posts and my own attitude towards the Bombers right now. I want them to win. I want them to win for my Dad, my Brother, my now 3 month old. I want to have fun watching this team again. This organization, however, has beaten me down so badly the last quarter century (jesus... century) that my patience level is razor thin. I'm insanely bitter with my favourite sports team (Jets are a tie). It doesn't feel good to be bitter about a team that you grew up loving and have so many fond memories of. Unlike years and years ago I don't have much reason to believe that we're going to get any better anytime soon either. The educated football fan in me, after watching the CFL for 30 ish years now, tells me this team is likely another sub 500 team. The question left is are we a dumpster fire or just a bad team? I want this club to prove me wrong and I'll happily eat crow. I really want that. -
Column A, and B. The fans in Calgary basically dont give a crap about the team, and ya, def a bit of envy with how well run they are compared to our trash show
-
I think Calgary actually may finally be on a downward trend. Which is due. So sick of the Stamps.
-
That's the kind of pie in the sky optimism from him that makes it really hard for me to take him seriously. We're something around 1-14 in Calgary last 15 years or so and he belts out "HEY WE JUST WON THERE" le sigh.
-
i detect a little bit of bitterness coming from one of our sites biggest Willy cheerleaders.
-
Welcome to sports Internet forums. There's always more to talk about and higher emotions after losses. That's the case from riderfans.com to Calgary puck to hf boards.
-
I think you post this crap at least once per season. It's old, garbage, and adds nothing to the conversation.
-
Some comeback. I've rarely been wrong about my predictions, especially when it comes to our football team.
-
A lot of fans needed time to come around on Ondrej Pavelec. They said I was a hater on HF, that I didn't know hockey and that I was being bitter with one person. Well fast forward 3 years and virtually everyone is on the same page. Willys supporters will need time too. Big difference though is I find Drew an amicable, likable guy. If Drew started winning I'd be a huge fan of course. The thing that drives me the most crazy about being a fan online is some people view any criticism, no matter how on point it is, to be a "lesser fan". The cheerleaders don't seem to understand that you can think a player or team stinks but still love the logo and team and want better results.
-
I may go if my buddy gives me a free ticket. I stopped spending money on the Bombers in Alberta years ago.
-
I stand by that. Montreal beat us. We're probably in the toilet with them.
-
Didn't someone here post about how Harris is no better than Willy? ooops lol! Nice call. hahahahahahahaha
-
Our next 5 games: 2 vs Edmonton 2 vs Calgary Hamilton This team is likely going 1-5, maybe 0-6. MOS wont survive it. Then, weeee. Another kick at a can of a new coach and system and we can look forward to another rebuild in a 9 team league. I swear to god.

Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
White Out replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
ah yes, the good old argument of "hey we just know better" if you watched that game, and, all of drew willys games since he became a starter for us, and you think the big issue is the O line... good luck. drew willy isnt good enough or smart enough. the pressure he endures is a product of a combination of a troubled O line, and more importantly, his own inability to make quick reads i feel like one would have to watch the games with their eyes closed to not see his panic on a nearly down by down basis. btw how was Harris behind that horrible O line tonight? surely he did terrible? -

Garbage offense. Defense looked .. ok. Nothing terrible. If the Bombers actually gave them a little more time off the field perhaps they'd look even better. 22 points in the CFL when your offence is never on the field is actually not bad.
