The guy is a fkn troll because he was cut... Wonder what he would have said on twitter when we were all saying he was the weak link on the OL I don't disagree, but it does make a point a lot of us have been saying and getting ridiculed for. O'Shea doesn't hold his players accountable for what they do on the football field. I'm no longer in the O'Shea fan club, but what kind of penalty can he impose on a player when that player knows there is no one to step in if he is turfed? Get Bigg Buff to throw their track suits in the shower.

I would take this kind of post from you more seriously if you made the same excuses for Marve. You didn't. You chose to crap all over him instead. Marve wasn't 21 of 26 for 184 yards. If you really think brohm was the problem I suggest you watch again. varying levels of horrible. It's not like Brohm's only option on second and long is to throw a 5 yard pass. The man is simply incapable of throwing intermediate or long passes on a consistent basis. Just an awful Qb really.

who determines on when to pull the qb?
blueandgoldguy replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
120 yards passing and 180 total yards offense in the first 57.5 minutes. Brohm is as culpable as Marcel. It's not as if his only option was to throw 5 yards passes...even on second and 8. -
That's BS, all he did was take his teams to the playoffs in consecutive years, same a Berry but he got the axe too. This organization and it's fans are too stunned to know a good thing when it's staring them straight in the face. The fact is he has never been in charge of an offense that has ranked above 4th in the CFL in any given season in all the important categories. In fact, his offenses have almost always ranked in the bottom 2 or 3 in the league. If you are the old fart you claim to be you should have known this. Research is your friend. Why would you want to settle for a mediocre offense which is what you will get with Bellfeuille. Coming up short in one aspect of the game results in less likelihood of long and short term success. The fans are tired of average and below average stopgaps. It's time to aspire for something greater.

[MERGED] Low Down, Rock Bottom (Stone Cold Stunned?)

^^^^ THIS You need to start right at the very top to clean house this time, or else the result will be just the same... What will cleaning house now do? It won't salvage the season; It won't bring back Willy; It won't change the fact the Blue lack Canadian talent. This is a process these guys aside from Bel-FAIL deserve another year wit ha healthy Willy and solid qb and some Canadians maturing specificlly Gossen on the o-line. This seaon was over after last weeks game now it will be a string of blow outs wit ha win or two sprinkled in to give us fans the faint hope that things will get better but there is no quick fix and that is sad but true. Don't forget these guys are cleaning up Mack's mess, which is akin to cleaning up a nasty oil spill! So how can an expansion team in their second year be in a playoff spot with a better record than the Bombers? What process are the RedBlacks utilizing that they can start from scratch 1.5 years ago and be a more talented team than the Bombers today? -
Was it a good kinda yelling like, "Hey Wade! Keep up the good work!" Or was it the bad kind of yelling like, "Hey Wade, nice hiring you did for the Bombers! Maybe stick to Pinnacle!"
-
"Why so many penalties?"- answer: loss of focus"Will there be consequnces?" a: I'm not going to get into that "Will there be a new starting quarterback next week?" a: not going to get into that "What happened in the game?" a: we were doing fine until the penalties. Consider that turd polished. Complete waste of airtime. Bombers had 160 yards of total offense (120 passing yards) in the first 57 minutes of the game. There is nothing fine about that. You are right. Consider the turd polished.
-
The running backs were given an opportunity to carry the ball throughout the game and what did they manage. 2 gains of 5 yards with the rest falling in the range of 0 - 4 yards gained. You go on and on about the lack of running plays every week despite evidence that the team is gaining very little from the run. If they called 4 or 5 more runs a game they wouldn't end up gaining any more significant yardage and the drives would still stall. The o-line is simply not good enough. But go ahead and insist that the Bombers should call 25 -30 runs a game when they average 3 yards a carry. Winning strategy bud.

I would take this kind of post from you more seriously if you made the same excuses for Marve. You didn't. You chose to crap all over him instead. Marve wasn't 21 of 26 for 184 yards. If you really think brohm was the problem I suggest you watch again. When you only manage 11 first downs in the first 56 minutes of the game along with 120 yards passing you are the problem. Can't understand how you don't see this. He only managed that second-last drive because Sasky was playing prevent. The game was out of reach.
-
Anyone can have a high completion percentage when they throw for 5 yards. How many times was it second and long and Brohm threw the ball 5 or less yards? That's horrible decision-making by both the OC and Brohm (he might not be looking at his options downfield). In the first 56 or 57 minutes Brohm had 10-12 Tds and 130 or so yards passing. He padded his stats, if you can call 184 yards padding, playing a prevent defense in those final few minutes when the game was out of reach. Terrible game from him and that's no surprise.

I'll wait until next Saturday night before I can determine if this is the low point of the season. -
O'Shea getting testy with Doug Brown in the post-game interview over questions regarding how he will deal with the lack of discipline by the players. Didn't hear him say he had to look at the game film though...

Henoc Muamba Released by Colts!
blueandgoldguy replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Bombers sign Muamba to a 3 year, $675 000 contract. Bombers convince Duron Carter to sign a 3-year, $600,000 contract once all members of morningbigblue offer to be his "fall guy." -
Montreal has a good defense and that's the result of good recruiting. They have a respectable offensive line with some good canadian talent and that's the result of good recruiting and drafting. All those injuries at QB are a little beyond Popp's control. He is now starting a 4th stringer in Tanner Marsh. While he has seemed to make quite a few hasty and questionable decisions of late, he deserves a few years to see if he can build the team into a Grey Cup contender. The franchise has made the playoffs every single year of it's existence, dating back to 1994. 9 Grey Cup appearances, 4 Grey Cup wins...he will get the benefit of the doubt if the team fails to make the playoffs. He just needs to leave the coaching to others.

Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion

Most people thought Brohm and Marve were good Qbing depth? Interesting.... -
You're ready to write Marve off after one start? In a thread earlier this week it was noted that Glenn took three years to develop before he showed positive results, same goes for Durant, Reilly and Burris. Again all of those Qbs had shown something by the time they reached Marve's age. Marve might improve, just don't expect some amazing progress in his abilities given his age.
-
Not even close. AC came in to the league as a 22 year old - extremely young and pliable. He actually showed something in his time in hamilton and Las Vegas. He was never as bad as Brohm (30 years old and will not get significantly better) or Marve (27 and might have a little bit of upside). Given his age Marve has much less chance for improvement. At the same age, Calvillo was already proving himself as a good starter in Montreal.

Dunk: Chevon Walker to sign with Winnipeg
blueandgoldguy replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
What about Jon Murphy? Or is that unlikely even with a new regime here under MIller and different members on the BOD. Would Murphy come back for the right price. Not that it will matter for this year. Walters will get another year regardless of how the rest of this season goes. We all know it. Miller pretty much confirmed that now on Hustler and Lawless today - Walters will get his 3 years to make the team a competitor...I 'll leave that to all of you to define what a competitor is. -
Markus Howell as the new OC - Free Press
blueandgoldguy replied to dmillerywg's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
From what you've seen with Marve, with coaching and reps, does he have the talent to be a legitimate CFL QB? Too soon to tell. He needs more game reps. But if we remember Reilly's first year with the Esks. Most wouldn't have expected much more out of him. Is this a joke? Reilly threw for 4000 yards that year. He is probably referring to Reilly's first 5 or 6 games in which he failed to throw for 200 yards...I think in all of them. With that said, he was not nearly as bad in any of those 6 games as Marve was last week and his production improved dramatically for the rest of the season. -
Blowouts & Emergency Surgery: Buck
blueandgoldguy replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Hey if you get offended being compared to Nasty Nate don't offend O'Shea comparing him to Burke. He is a way better coach than Burke could ever hope to be. I don't see the evidence that O'Shea is better than Burke. They were both good coordinators with bad head coaching records. Other than style, what's the difference? I don't see the players quitting on O'Shea. They gave up on Burke entirely. Yeah the team right now has a hard time rebounding from a couple poor plays, but it's different than a team that just packs it in entirely. I mean just looking at that Calgary game, the defense fought tooth and nail in the first half to try and give the offense all the chances they needed to win but the execution simply wasn't there on offence. With Burke the team visibly checked out about 5 minutes into a game. The team visibly folded after that interception for a TD early in the second half. The game was still in reach but after the following 2 and out, the defense allowed Calgary to march down the entire field. Then they did it again and again. The team quit...don't handle adversity well. See the 4 blowouts in 9 games already. Very Burkian-like -
Bombers Season Officially over time of death...
blueandgoldguy replied to sportmentary2012's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
People need to give up the idea that the Argos will trade Ray this season even when he does come back from injury. It's rare to have good two Qbs to rely on and that appears to be what the Argos will have in the stretch run. That will help if one begins to struggle or is injured. The argos will run with both all the way through the playoffs and probably lose Ray in the off season. -
A failed special teams coach with limited contacts down south. Who would have guessed he would end up being one of if not the worst Gm in the league? Apparently our president didn't after the extensive off season search for a gm in 2013

Tater's thoughts. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/Watching-film-no-answer-323347221.html They’ll watch the film. Oh, will they watch the film all right. In fact, they’ll watch the hell out of it in the next few days. That’s what the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, to a man, spit out ad nauseum after every defeat. They won’t point fingers, they won’t call anybody out publicly. Well, we can spare them the time and the effort: this is not a good football team and nobody needs to press play, pause or rewind on Saturday’s 36-8 loss to the Calgary Stampeders to reach that conclusion. And — absolutely under no circumstances — do they make any kind of blanket statements or rash judgements until they meticulously go over the videotape evidence. The Bombers skidded to the midway point of the 2015 season at 3-6 with the latest in a series of stink bombs dropped at Investors Group Field. Oh sure, they were without their starting quarterback, tailback, deep threat and centre in Saturday night’s massacre. And, yes, there is still a half season of football left to be played. But here’s a number to munch on while we all play coroner over the next few days and attempt to determine the latest cause of death for a franchise again in a serious nosedive: Since opening 2014 at 5-1, this football team has gone 5-16 over its last 21 games. Roll that around again one more time, Bomber fans, and then spit. Look, if it’s true that there is no sin worse than losing in professional football, then we’d tack on this addendum when it comes to the Bombers: there’s no sin worse than losing AND being boring at the same time. And Saturday’s contest in south Winnipeg had zilch-o entertainment value. Robert Marve & Co. amassed just 135 yards net offence, the longest play from scrimmage only 15 yards. There were too many penalties and too many breakdowns in what has become an all too predictable result.

I thought a few weeks ago you were placing some of the blame on MB for terrible pass protection of the QB..or maybe I'm mistaken?
-
I don't have the optimism to believe that keeping Willy healthy under Marcel's protection scheme is a sustainable plan for the future. Marve was juking and jiving to avoid being tackled in the "death pocket", without that mobility he would have been sacked at least 4 more times. IT must be something with the pass protection schemes. All that money and changeover to the offensive line and it 's still as bad as ever.
