We’re now at a time when “veteran back up” means guys like Pipkin, Harker etc…. Potentials like Caleb Evans, Maier and Arbuckle will want chances to be starters. McGuire had a horrible outing in pouring rain and with all guards for an OL. Definitely would be ok with him getting well-timed opportunities next year with the full starting offence and playbook. Not saying he’s automatically the future but I always think of Anthony Calvillo and the Sacramento Goldminers getting steamrolled by a Dunigan-led Bombers in the mid 90’s. How many people wrote him off as a never-will-be (me included). Just saying sometimes management sticks with someone for a reason and it works out every now and then.

Now that the Bombers’ kicking problems are solved this is the nagging doubt no one wants to talk about…

Hamilton continues to be the most overrated team in the CFL. Last three wins were over Ottawa, Edmonton and BC. You play the teams on the schedule but come on… Bombers don’t get the 2-3 win record inflating gimmes vs Ottawa and still can’t quite shake that Rodney Dangerfield vibe. I love it - no other team comes close and come playoff time the Bombers will “continue showing them that” (cue infamous cgy qb quote)

Cheering for Demerio Houston to have a better game than the last one he started. Clean up the tackling and he’s a decent db. If we lose this one, expect the media and all the other fan bases to forget we played our back ups and write us off lmao.

The Montreal team that showed up last night would have wiped the floor with Sask. One thing about the Larks is they get wrapped up in either reading or making their own press clippings. They beat Toronto one week, then play sloppy against Sask at home. Get pissed off about it come out hungry the next week, but too late now they are 0-1 in a back to back with the reigning Grey Cup champs. The up and down doesn’t help them and that’s on the character of their players and Khari for not enough FIFO.

Agreed. Coming off a bye week I think all the starters play, especially at IGF. Ideally it would be hammer down and then the depth handles the 4th quarter. Gotta stay sharp, and keep feeding off all the momentum gained throughout the season.

Edmonton still had a chance at making the playoffs when they played the Bombers. First two games Harris was still officially the franchise qb and they had something to play for. Bombers broke them repeatedly and now the Ticats are basically playing RedBlacks ‘berta edition Don’t sweat it!

Ah, in regards to being a “pure runner” as mentioned previously, what are the criteria? If we’re adding shiftiness, running through contact etc, then totally I would take Reid off that list (respectfully of course).

Should the Bombers have a better pk? Absolutely. Did Mourtada earn one more shot (in front of a home crowd no less)… I’m ok with that. I also fully believe Walters is burning up the phone lines trying to secure a kicker.
