  2. DeSantis Warns Of 'Woke' In Bizarre Speech: 'I Saw People Defecating' In Public The Florida governor railed about his recent trip to San Francisco as he vowed to leave "woke ideology in the dustbin of history" in remarks on Friday. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis claims he recently “saw people defecating on the sidewalk” – an act he chalked up to “woke” ideology – during a speech at a Faith and Freedom Coalition event on Friday. The 2024 Republican presidential candidate, who spoke at the coalition’s “Road to Majority” conference, spoke about a popular Republican bogeyman – “woke” – as he warned of the mindset’s impact on the criminal justice system. “When woke overtakes our criminal justice system – like it has in San Francisco, like it has in Los Angeles – the average person becomes less safe in their communities as a result,” said DeSantis, who vowed to leave “woke ideology in the dustbin of history.” “Don’t tell me it doesn’t affect people’s lives. I was just in San Francisco. I saw – in 20 minutes on the ground – people defecating on the sidewalk. I saw people using fentanyl. I saw people smoking crack right there in the open, right there on the street. It was a civilization in decay.” DeSantis, who recently dropped a campaign video where he criticized the “collapsed” city over its “leftist policies,” received pushback from San Francisco Mayor London Breed who called his comments part of “the oldest playbook in politics to get attention.” Twitter users slammed the Florida governor over his remarks, pointing to reports of people pooping in public in the Sunshine State and noting that Florida has “significantly higher” drug overdose mortality rates than those in California.
  3. There is a report that US underwater listening posts recorded a noise consistent with an implosion at the same moment communication with the submersible was lost, so they really knew it was lost, but went through the motions anyways as a display.

  6. It will probably come down to who the Russian military chooses to support, but they are not all of one mind. Different generals could support different sides or remain neutral until they see who will win\ i

  12. HERE WE GO! It appears that the anticipated Russian civil war has begun between Prighozin's mercenary army and forces loyal (for now) to Putin. Army vehicles are rolling into Moscow and heavy fighting is reported between the two sides on the main highway into Moscow some 80 km away.
  13. AKA "frankenmeat"
  14. I tried Al-Adon's Pizza on Portage Avenue a while back on a recommendation but was very disappointed. The crust and meats were good, but the sauce was almost nonexistent and it had as much salt on it as Portage Avenue in Winter. It was nearly inedible.
  15. One thing history teaches us is that massive change can happen abruptly- like Matthias Rust's flight into Russia exposing their previously unknown lax air defence system with Breznev's subsequent sacking of almost the entire military Russian leadership. This led to the brief hope that democracy might flourish in Russia. Unfortunately, it did not and led to the rise of oligarchs and Putin. The Russian military has lost about half of its warmaking capabilities and credible reports indicate that some 500,000 military personnel are either dead or disabled to the point where they cannot be of any military use. Moreover, the head of the mercenaries Sergei Prighozin is openly mocking the Russian military leadership and the political command. This cannot go on and a coup is entirely possible, even probable, but if that would be an improvement is unknown.
  16. This debacle has been brewing for the past couple of games prior. The Bomber secondary has looked shaky from game one and was (IMO) against the Riders than against the TiCats and was almost completely inept last night. I have no explanation for how incredibly poorly the Bomber o-line played against even the Lions' three-man rush. It was like none of them had even met each other before gametime.
  17. And without a shred of proof. She "thought" (as if she has coherent thoughts) he was such.
