Not my favourite L & O series but welcome nonetheless. It does point out the dearth of fresh ideas in TV series, though.

That is very good news! I have driven by their former bakery at the corner of Erin and St. Matthews but have not seen any signs of life there.

This is typical of the fear and smear tactics that right-wingers use when it becomes apparent that they have screwed up so badly that they have no chance of winning the election. Those who claim that the left is as guilty as the right, need to just look around.

The Russians did the same thing in WW2 in trying to halt or slow German advances. All they did then was to drown some 15,000 of their own soldiers, Predictably, Russia is blaming Ukraine while saying that Russia is winning every battle and destroying a lot of Ukrainian military assets. This flooding will kill thousands of wild and domestic animals while cutting off the supply of drinking water to the whole Crimean peninsula where several thousand Russian troops are stationed. The military will probably have some stores of water but the civilian population will have little if any. This will precipitate a humanitarian crisis.

Just what we need here in Canada- another Christo-fascist organization.

Astrud Gilberto, Singer Of 'The Girl From Ipanema,' Dead At 83 NEW YORK (AP) — Astrud Gilberto, the Brazilian singer, songwriter and entertainer whose off-hand, English-language cameo on “The Girl from Ipanema” made her a worldwide voice of bossa nova, has died at age 83. Musician Paul Ricci, a family friend, confirmed that she died Monday. He did not provide additional details. Born in Salvador, Bahia and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Gilberto became an overnight, unexpected superstar in 1964, thanks to knowing just enough English to be recruited by the makers of “Getz/Gilberto,” the classic bossa nova album featuring saxophonist Stan Getz and her then-husband, singer-songwriter-guitarist João Gilberto.

All this crap going on in BC makes me fee; sorry for the new owner and the Lions' fans who had a brief time to start to like their team again. -
(Confirmed)Polish Volunteer Corps of the Ukrainian Army published pictures, confirming it participated in the first armed raid into Belgorod Russia, together with the RDK. Russian soldiers claimed earlier they heard some of the enemies communicating in Polish.

Prosecutors Suspect Trump May Have Flooded Mar-a-Lago Room To Destroy Evidence Prosecutors are suspicious about a swimming pool flood a Mar-a-Lago that destroyed video logs and other evidence related to the classified documents case. CNN reported: While it’s unclear if the room was intentionally flooded or if it happened by mistake, the incident occurred amid a series of events that federal prosecutors found suspicious. At least one witness has been asked by prosecutors about the flooded server room as part of the federal investigation into Trump’s handling of classified documents, according to one of the sources. The incident, which has not been previously reported, came roughly two months after the FBI retrieved hundreds of classified documents from the Florida residence and as prosecutors obtained surveillance footage to track how White House records were moved around the resort. Prosecutors have been examining any effort to obstruct the Justice Department’s investigation after Trump received a subpoena in May 2022 for classified documents. What a coincidence. The room where all of the video logs for the resort were kept just so happened to flood two months after the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago and seized hundreds of classified documents. As president, Trump reportedly flushed documents down the toilet when he was done reading them, which is an illegal act that could be a felony. Since an entire video surveillance room is too big to fit down a toilet, Trump may have ordered other steps to be taken to destroy evidence. The CNN story does not mention any other rooms that were flooded during the swimming pool incident, so the idea that the only flooded room was one that potentially contained evidence against Trump should raise the suspicions of prosecutors. The Trump Organization also has a long history of destroying evidence, so this behavior would not be new or unique. If Donald Trump ordered the destruction of evidence, it could be one more charge added to the list against him by the Department of Justice.

You have just undermined the entire Cons strategy.

Trump's lawyers met with the DOJ this morning. This means that the DOJ has offered Trump a chance to plead guilty with some sort of plea deal before laying charges. Typically, someone in that position will have no more than 24 hours to accept whatever was offered (if a deal was even offered at all) and if no deal is reached, arrest warrants will be issued within 2-3 days. A plea deal would require Trump to plead guilty in open court in full view of cameras and it is doubtful if his bloated ego will allow him to do so, but that is the only way he could avoid jail time.

Scientists May Have Found Exactly How LSD Treats Depression We’ve known that psychedelic drugs like psilocybin mushrooms and LSD show a lot of promise in addressing some of the world’s most widespread mental disorders for a while now. Not only can they treat things like treatment resistant depression and PTSD, but they can even help terminally ill patients with their end-of-life anxiety. What scientists don’t know, though, is why exactly psychedelics are so effective at treating these disorders. Luckily, some new research by an international team of neuroscientists sheds light on this trippy mystery. The researchers published a study on Monday in the journal Nature Neuroscience that showed that LSD and psilocin (the primary molecule in magic mushrooms) bind to a specific receptor in the brains of laboratory mice—causing an antidepressant effect as a result. Since the mechanism specifically works to reduce depression, the study’s authors believe that it could lead to the development of drugs to treat depression in humans without hallucinations. “The hallucinogenic effects of psychedelics limit their widespread clinical application, as their administration is restricted to clinical settings that often require intensive monitoring,” the study’s authors wrote. They added that their research suggests “that the antidepressant and plasticity-promoting effects of psychedelics may be dissociable from their hallucinogenic effects.” Today, more than 17 million U.S. adults and 2 million children suffer from clinical depression. Roughly 10 to 30 percent of those patients don’t respond to traditional antidepressant medication either—resulting in treatment resistant disorders. Enter psychedelics. In recent years, drugs like ketamine, LSD, magic mushrooms, and MDMA have shown a lot of promise in treating disorders like depression and PTSD. However, one major hurdle with these drugs is the fact that they often cause hallucinations. That means that patients undergoing psychedelic treatments need to be supervised by doctors in a highly-regulated medical setting. That poses a huge barrier for the vast majority of patients. However, if the drug was as easy as popping a pill at home without the worry of tripping out, then it could open the doors to treating millions of people.

I like BC to finish second in the West, but I am still not convinced that Adams is the answer. He has all the physical tools but I doubt he has the mental abilities to be a consistent winner. Gotta be Hamilton in the East and after that, the rest of the teams are toss-ups. I am rooting for the RedBlacks to be a lot better this years.

Swarmay came into camp with little fanfare but was all over the field against the Riders. He is a rookie, though, but the talent and drive is there, so all that is needed is experience.
-
And now the 'Cats have Kongbo. That should make the game verry interesting to watch.

Credible reports indicate that a 300-man Polish volunteer force has joined Russian resistance forces in Belgorod.

Or he will expected to commit seppuku at midfield following any gaffe that leads to an opposition score. -

With Kongbo, it was probably a matter of $. He will be missed but I am cautiously optimistic about our d-line, but not about our linebackers. I really hope Wade comes through- he looks to have a load of potential but the CFL game has so much motion that its easy for newbies to get confusicated. -
It seems to be a feature of O'Shea that he hangs onto veterans just a bit too long and that is reflected in roster, but I have no doubt that when push comes to shove, he (and Walters) will do the right thing.

Cole has had his ups and downs so far but Clements has shown only occasional bits of competence, so I am losing confidence in him.
