  1. As did the jury, the lawyers for the plaintiff and the whole courtroom.
  2. Not only did Carter get beaten like a rented mule, but as soon as the ball was caught, he lost all interest in the play and sort of trotted after Schoen.
  3. Hmmmm....I believe that sort of thinking is almost mandatory in Texas- and probably Albertama
  4. Looks very horny.
  5. "Penny wise but pound foolish?"
  6. If anything, Junior will have to be demonstrably better than the competition to stick.
  7. That may be true, but there is a lot more diversity in the Liberal party than in the PCs.
  8. This is not a good place for me to comment on the specific examples that you cited.  Feel free to PM me if you'd like.

Some progressives are working on change.  Denouncing people who we view to be not progressive enough - is not productive nor progressive - it is not an educational approach.  That's where I differ with many of you on here - at least based on the way you post - which is admittedly about all that I know about you.

My foundational tenet is the Sermon on the Mount and also the two chapters that follow it.  This is also the foundation of my faith community.

Please enlighten me on your point of view.

  9. I would bet that Chong is of the wrong ethnicity to have a shot at the leadership of the current PC party.
  10. Nah. Strap yourself to a car's roof rack and go trough an automated car wash. Much quicker.
  11. Can you imagine the ratings if they televised that?
  12. In an eerie synchronicity, Putin is having the same problems in Russia.
  13. A curious attack- claiming your opponent is sane,
  14. 'Preparing for war': Tucker Carlson’s lawyer reveals the ousted host is 'ready' to expose Fox News Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is allegedly "preparing for war" against Fox News following his firing, Mediaite reports. PerAxios, a "close friend" of Carlson's said that the ousted star originally told those in his inner circle "I want to get this done quiet and clean," but his approach to handling his firing has shifted. "We're going from peacetime to Defcon 1," the friend told Axios, adding, "His team is preparing for war. He wants his freedom. (Unless , of course, he receives a BIG golden parachute and NDA. In which case, all is well and will not be spoken of again.
  15. Texas mall shooter wore neo-Nazi symbol and shared 'white-supremacist content online': report The man who murdered eight people using an AR-15 at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas, Saturday likely identified with neo-Nazi beliefs, The Washington Post reports. Allen resident Mauricio Garcio, according to The Post wore a "patch on his chest" at the time of the shooting that read "RWDS," meaning "Right Wing Death Squad," a "phrase popular among right wing extremists, neo-Nazis and white supremacists." Additionally, NBC reports Garcia "interacted with neo-Nazi and white supremacist content online." Last year, an Anti-Defamation League's Center (ADLC) on Extremism report revealed "all extremist-related murders in 2022 were committed by right-wing extremists," adding, "More than four out of five extremist-related murders last year were committed by white supremacist right-wing extremists." The report also noted "nearly all extremist-related mass killings were committed by right-wing extremists, and warns the number of those mass murders 'is of growing concern.'" An official familiar with the matter told NBC not only did Garcia engage with neo-Nazi content online, but he also posted such content himself. Regarding the issue of gun violence specifically pertaining to Texas, The Post reports: In 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recorded 4,613 firearms-related deaths in Texas. The state's annual death toll from guns has increased steadily since 2014. Led by Abbott, Texas has moved in recent years to loosen restrictions on firearms. In 2021, the state began allowing permitless carry so residents can carry handguns in public without a license. The state 'does not specifically put restrictions on who can carry a long gun such as a rifle or shotgun,' according to a Texas government website. ADLC's report added the "main threat in the near future will likely be white supremacist shooters," noting, "The increase in the number of mass killing attempts, meanwhile, is one of the most alarming trends in recent years."
  16. Callis is an interesting QB prospect- seems to have the arm, legs and intelligence to prosper in the CFL.
  17. This is a thorny issue. Progressive values tend to be absolute- like allowing women to be equals, vote etc., and even the right of women to control their own bodies. This is where true progressives and convenience progressives diverge. If your values are rooted in a particular interpretation of a scripture, this tends to take you into troubled waters. Those who profess to be Xian are not alone in this. My spirituality guides my personal conduct with the Golden Rule as a foundational tenet, and my belief in a survival of consciousness after physical death and reincarnation are anathema to many. None of this gives me the authority to rule over the behaviour of others, providing their actions are consistent with that Golden Rule.
  18. I think you may be in the minority with that opinion.
  19. The coronation ritual is completed as the new king receives the Holy Hand Grenade:
  20. And when he said he could shoot someone in public and still be loved by his followers.
  21. Not quite good enough in the last two games. They were sloppy against Calgary and even worse in the Cup game. The Argo QBs were not the best in the league but they still lit up the Bomber secondary.
  22. Heron and Jim Thorpe were foul-mouthed ghetto archetypes who brought that attitude with them to Winnipeg and their public interactions. Ruoff was a different case altogether. His issue was not that he smoked up but that it became public knowledge.
