  1. The deposition that Trump previously made was a stunning display of his arrogance and stupidity. He made no apology for his "grab 'em" comment and even insulted the plaintiff's lawyer. during the trial, Trump's motivation for attacking her was identified- apparently just before 'the (alleged) rape, she made a remark that he likely construed as dismissive of him. Trump does not take that sort of thing lightly and retaliation is mandatory for him. This is gonna cost him a lot of money, but not enough in my view.
  2. Wagner Boss Makes Major Battlefield Exit After Grisly Video -Press Service of Prigozhin/Telegram Wagner Group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin on Friday said his fighters will pull out of the key eastern Ukraine battleground of Bakhmut on May 10, ripping a lack of support from Moscow that is dooming his troops “to a senseless death.” His mercenaries have led the bitter fight for control of the small city that has become the scene of some of the bloodiest conflict in Ukraine in recent months despite Bakhmut holding little strategic significance. In a series of furious tirades against Russia’s military commanders, Prigozhin said he’ll now pull his forces out of the city because Wagner is not being given the ammunition it needs. “I am officially addressing the supreme commander-in-chief, the chief of the General Staff, the minister of defense, and the people of Russia,” Prigozhin said in a statement shared on Telegram. “I declare on behalf of the fighters of the Wagner Group… that on May 10, 2023, we are being forced to hand over our positions in Bakhmut to Ministry of Defense units and withdraw what’s left of Wagner to the rear to lick our wounds.” “I am withdrawing Wagner’s units from Bakhmut because in the absence of ammunition they are being doomed to a senseless death,” Prigozhin continued. He added that he’d decided to hold Wagner’s positions until after May 9, when Russia celebrates Victory Day, commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. “We will lick our wounds, and when the Motherland is in danger, we will again stand up for her defense,” Prigozhin said. “The Russian people can count on us.” The announcement comes a day after Prigozhin’s long-standing criticisms of Russia’s leaders appeared to boil over. In a video shared on Telegram on Thursday, the Wagner chief stood alongside what looked like rows of his recruits’ bloodied corpses and became apoplectic with rage as he said he lacked 70 percent of the ammunition he needs on the battlefield.
  3. A new report reveals that Leonard Leo paid Ginni Thomas tens of thousands of dollars, but the money was routed through Kellyanne Conway’s consulting company without mentioning Thomas. The Washington Post reported: Leo, an adviser to the Judicial Education Project and a key figure in a network of nonprofits that has worked to support the nominations of conservative judges, told Conway that he wanted her to “give” Ginni Thomas “another $25K,” the documents show. He emphasized that the paperwork should have “No mention of Ginni, of course.” Conway’s firm, the Polling Company, sent the Judicial Education Project a $25,000 bill that day. Per Leo’s instructions, it listed the purpose as “Supplement for Constitution Polling and Opinion Consulting,” the documents show. Leonard Leo’s name has been in the news lately because he may have caused The Federalist Society to violate its tax-exempt status so that he could secure a $1/6 billion donation for partisan activism. There is no documented evidence that Ginni Thomas ever did any work for the Judicial Education Project or Kellyanne Conway’s polling company. It appears that Leo was slipping money to the Ginni and Clarence Thomas while he had business before the Supreme Court.
  4. Mississippi Gov. slammed for re-election bid launch of 'cosplaying' clip of him 'shooting' people of color Mississippi’s Republican Governor Tate Reeves, who has the highest firearm mortality rate in the entire country, this week launched his re-election campaign with a video depicting him as Clint Eastwood shooting people of color. Although the video (below) was released Tuesday, few seemed to notice until a Talking Points Memo article was published Friday afternoon. “Reeves’ face is superimposed on Eastwood’s in clips from the classic Dollars trilogy movies. He’s seen cosplaying the white anti-hero, the Man with No Name, shooting at Mexican bandits with a Colt revolver and puffing on a cigarillo,” TPM’s Emine Yücel writes. In addition to the inherent racism and violence in the video, there is no policy discussed, and not even any bragging about Reeves’ record. https://www.alternet.org/mississippi-gov-reelection-cosplaying-shooting/
  5. At Least 8 Fake Electors Have Immunity In Georgia Election Probe ATLANTA (AP) — The prosecutor investigating interference in the 2020 election in Georgia has agreed to immunity deals with at least eight Republican fake electors who signed a certificate falsely stating that then-President Donald Trump had won the state. Defense attorney Kimberly Debrow revealed the existence of the immunity deals in a court filing Friday, saying her eight clients had accepted the agreements last month. The filing does not identify the eight people who were offered immunity deals. Last July, a lawyer for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ office revealed that each of the 16 people who signed the false elector certificate was a target of her investigation, which is examining whether Trump and his allies committed any crimes while trying to overturn his narrow election loss. The 16 fake electors met at the state Capitol on Dec. 14, 2020, and signed a certificate declaring falsely that Trump had won the presidential election and declaring themselves the state’s “duly elected and qualified” electors. The news of the immunity deals shows that Willis continues to work on her case as she prepares to make decisions on whether to seek charges this summer. In letters sent to law enforcement agencies late last month, she advised them to prepare adequate security as she intends to announce her charging decisions between mid-July and early September.
  6. Kentucky rioter gets 14 years for attacking police during Jan. 6 insurrection A Kentucky man was just handed down the harshest-yet sentence among those who have been charged in connection with the insurrection attempt in January 2021, according to reports. Peter Schwartz, who already had a history of criminal activity prior to the insurrection, reportedly threw a chair at officers and sprayed them with pepper spray as he and his then-wife stormed the Capitol. Lawyers for Schwartz sought a sentence of four years and six months, arguing that his actions were based on a “misunderstanding” of what happened in the 2020 election, but U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta felt that 14 years was appropriate, Associated Press reports. Mehta said Schwartz was a “soldier against democracy” who participated in “the kind of mayhem, chaos that had never been seen in the country’s history,” AP says. The outlet added some additional quotes from Mehta to Schwartz: “You are not a political prisoner,” the judge told him, the report says. “You’re not somebody who is standing up against injustice or fighting against an autocratic regime.” https://www.alternet.org/kentucky-rioter-14-years-insurrection/
  7. Probably mostly BS but time will tell. NATO Europe is sending one million 155mm artillery shells to Ukraine, so this might be the result.
  8. LEST WE FORGET! TODAY IS......
  9. Have fun with the counter offensive, we'll wait for the start of the civil war. Peace out.'
  10. To me, it would not be a great surprise if Castillo and Liegghio were both on the roster at the end of training camp. Kickers do not get hurt often, but they do get hurt, so if one of these two goes down, we have an instant backup.
  11. Same old stories- lying Tories.
  12. This is why Merrick Garland's actions are probably the most critical to the survival of American democracy since their last civil war.
  13. Conservative activist arranged for Clarence Thomas’ wife to get secret payouts Clarence Thomas' wife, "Ginni" Thomas, reportedly received tens of thousands of dollars for consulting work, and her name was intentionally left off of the paperwork. Ginni Thomas received the funds from conservative activist Leonard Leo—who has also helped former President Donald Trump select judicial nominees—according to the Washington Post's investigation. The news comes at a time when Clarence Thomas himself is under firefor reportedly receiving undisclosed gifts. Leo made the arrangements through former Trump Administration official Kellyanne Conway, according to the Washington Post's report. "In January 2012, Leo instructed the GOP pollster Kellyanne Conway to bill a nonprofit group he advises and use that money to pay Virginia 'Ginni' Thomas, the documents show," according to the report. "The same year, the nonprofit, the Judicial Education Project, filed a brief to the Supreme Court in a landmarkvoting rights case." The investigation further uncovered the circumstances surrounding how the payments were made secret. "Leo, a key figure in a network of nonprofits that has worked to support the nominations of conservative judges, told Conwaythat he wanted her to 'give' Ginni Thomas 'another $25K,' the documents show. He emphasized that the paperwork should have 'No mention of Ginni, of course,'" according to the Washington Post.
  14. Liegghio's passport is nice, but nobody, but nobody, with the exception of Collaros should get complacent. That's what good teams do.
  15. And Russian anti-Putin partisans have claimed it as well. All the usual suspects.
  16. Move along now. Nothing to see here. Just SCOTUS doing business as usual. Agreed. An interpretation similar to seeing the sun rise and set and assuming that the Earth is flat.
  17. Perhaps not, but he is knee-deep in it and will hang for it. The corruption that has always existed within the GOP but amplified and legitimized by Trumpers has come to its inevitable conclusion.
  18. And her star witness has mysteriously disappeared- probably kidnapped by the CIA.
  19. 'Unparalleled in its audacity and scope': Herschel Walker implicated in 'jaw-dropping' wire fraud scheme Failed United States Senate candidate Herschel Walker (R-Georgia) — who had the backing of former President Donald Trump — has been implicated in an "unprecedented," "stunning," and "jaw-dropping" scandal involving crimes such as wire fraud and campaign finance violations. Late Wednesday evening, The Daily Beastexclusively reported that Walker solicited "hundreds of thousands of dollars" from billionaire benefactor Dennis Washington in March of 2022 "for his own personal company—a company that he never disclosed on his financial statements." Correspondent Roger Sollenberger revealed that "emails obtained by The Daily Beast—and verified as authentic by a person with knowledge of the exchanges—show that Walker asked Washington to wire $535,200 directly to that undisclosed company, HR Talent, LLC. And the emails reveal that not only did Washington complete Walker's wire requests, he was under the impression that these were, in fact, political contributions." Sollenberger noted that "in the best possible circumstances, legal experts told The Daily Beast, the emails suggest exponential violations of federal fundraising rules; in the worst case, they could be an indication of more serious crimes, such as wire fraud." That, however, represents the tip of a gigantic iceberg of alleged corruption. "According to the legal experts who spoke to The Daily Beast for this article, this scheme appears to not just be illegal—it appears to be unparalleled in its audacity and scope," Sollenberger wrote. "The transactions raise questions about a slew of possible violations. In fact, these experts all said, the scheme was so brazen that it appears to defy explanation, ranking it among the most egregious campaign finance violations in modern history." https://www.alternet.org/unparalleled-in-audacity-and-scope/
  20. But Dune part one was directed by Canadian Dennis Villeneuve, I believe.
  21. Marjorie Taylor Greene: 'Very likely' impeachment articles coming over alleged Biden crimes Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) said Wednesday that it is "very likely" that articles of impeachment will be introduced in connection to an alleged pay-for-pay scheme involving President Joe Biden (D) when he was V.P. In a "breaking news" video released by Greene, she said America "deserves to see what Joe Biden - as vice president and now as president, and his family members - what they have been doing and what it's doing to this country." She claims a whistleblower came forward to reveal records that purportedly tie Biden "directly to foreign nationals in an alleged pay-for-play scheme to influence policy decisions." Republican Investigation Of Joe Biden For Bribery Falls Apart Before It Starts With all of their other Biden-related scandals failing, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) now claim to have a whistleblower accusing Biden of taking bribes, but their information is unverified, so it is another GOP show.
