  1. I really liked what I saw of Agudosi in his brief on-field performance, but his apparent fragility is a concern. He deserves a chance to make the team next year but one more significant injury will lead to the conclusion that he is too brittle for the sport.
  2. By way of comparison, a few unarmed, unarmoured, untrained civilians took down a shooter and in Uvalde Texas, a hundred, armed, armoured, trained officers milled around and refused to enter the school out of fear that they might have been at risk. Something very wrong there.
  3. Charlie Brown said, "There is no problem so big and so scary that it can't be run away from"
  4. What do you have against the Tick's battle cry?
  5. Agreed. Kolankowski struggled at the beginning of the season as did the whole O-line, but got better each outing. Couture was not good in the GC game and ought to fetch a good price in a trade.
  6. I really do not see the need for Lawler, as good as he is. Our receivers, even without Ellingson for most of the year, were as good as any in the league and not the reason we lost the Cup. We even have the promising Brendan O'Leary-Orange. Lawler would be nice, but not a priority.
  7. Liegghio also made a couple of TD-saving tackles on punt returns, if memory serves. Can't recall too many kickers doing that.
  8. Democrats Give Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts An Ultimatum. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse and Rep. Hank Johnson ordered the chief justice to name someone who can testify on the court’s ethics scandals. Top Democrats on the House and Senate Judiciary Committees demanded on Sunday that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts comply with their investigation into the court’s refusal to abide by ethics laws. And if the court continues to suggest it’s not serious about policing itself, Congress will step in, warned the joint letter from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), and Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.), chairs of the subcommittees overseeing the federal judiciary in their respective chambers. “If the Court ... is not willing to undertake fact-finding inquiries into possible ethics violations that leaves Congress as the only forum,” they wrote. The letter came a day after The New York Times reported that Justice Samuel Alito leaked the outcome of a 2014 decision in the case of Hobby Lobby v. Burwell. Alito reportedly spoke about the decision ahead of its release to Supreme Court Historical Society donors who were part of an influence operation led by a former conservative evangelical leader, Rev. Rob Schenck. The two lawmakers firmly stated Congress’ right to investigate the court and demanded Roberts provide information related to the influence operation run by Schenck through his Faith & Action group. They also demanded information about Schenck’s letter to Roberts in July disclosing that he learned about the Hobby Lobby outcome days before it came down from one of his volunteers after she attended a dinner with Alito and his wife. Schenck sent his letter as part of the court’s investigation into the leak of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. Alito, who authored both the Dobbs and Hobby Lobby decisions, denied leaking the Hobby Lobby outcome. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/supreme-court-leak-investigation_n_637bcd63e4b06d5b6098190e
  9. But still no word on Churches' Chicken.
  10. Liegghio .was not THE problem, but he was part of the problem
  11. ‘Final Crushing Blow’: Putin’s Men Scramble Over Feared Crimea Blitz Panicking over a nightmare scenario in Crimea, Putin’s officials are allegedly mobilizing troops in secret—all while claiming Russia’s hold on the peninsula is “unshakable.” After a series of crushing defeats for Russia’s military in Ukraine from the northeast to the south over the last several weeks, Russian authorities in Moscow appear to be increasingly concerned that Ukraine has set its sights on seizing back Crimea next. Russian MP Andrei Gurulyov on Sunday urged Moscow to determine the risk of Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization launching an attack on Crimea, which Russian President Vladimir Putin illegally annexed from Ukraine in 2014. Russian MP Mikhail Sheremet warned that Ukrainian troops will suffer a “final crushing blow” if they launch an attack on Crimea. In an apparent attempt to temper fears that Ukraine would go after Crimea, the chairman of the Federation Council’s committee on defense and security, Viktor Bondarev, warned Monday that he doesn’t think Ukraine has the firepower to take back Crimea. “Ukraine has neither the resources, nor the military force, nor the support of the Crimeans for the promised offensive on the peninsula,” Bondarev said, adding, “‘Crimea is ours’ is not only a slogan and a hashtag. It is an unshakable reality.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his administration have been warning for months that Ukraine will work to take back Crimea from Russia. And now, with mounting losses for Russia’s army, the pressure is on. Russia just fled the strategically important city of Kherson in the south of Ukraine, a move which the top Ukrainian official in charge of Crimea told The Daily Beast in an exclusive interview would be an important precursor to seizing back Crimea. -Getty
  12. This World Cup is the Olympics in condensed form- bribery, racism, corruption, politics and, of course, the siphoning of money into already deep pockets.
  13. Anti-Woke Bank GloriFi to Shut Down Texas startup has laid off most employees after failing to secure more funding. The Texas startup that sought to build a conservative banking alternative is shutting down. GloriFi has laid off most of its employees and told them that it is closing up shop, according to people familiar with the matter and emails to employees reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
  14. At the end of the day, despite all the drama, angst and hyperbole, it was just a game. I have two members of my extended family currently in hospital fighting for their lives and I have followed the Bombers for about 50 years but we do need keep a perspective. For some, there will not be a next year.
  15. And this will not silence the shrill yapping of the flat-Earthers.
  16. Even if he wanted to come back and we could afford him, that was a pretty serious injury and there is no guarantee he would be the player he was.
  17. Agree, but he has had unpredictable lapses off and on all season, and as many screwups at the rest of the team had, if he had done his job, we still would have won. He needs to be challenged at training camp next year. He is good, but not good enough.
  18. Re-watched the game this morning without the red haze of anger and disappointment, and it confirmed what I subjectively felt while watching the game live and have a few thoughts: To echo other posts, Collaros was nothing short of terrible. Heck, both Bethel-Thompson and Chad Kelly were better than Collaros, and by a long shot. Collaros should have been pulled shortly after half-time, but intellectually I can understand why they did not. Collaros has pulled off upset wins regularly, and we were still in the game, so..... He was also iffy against the Lions, so the trend was there. There appeared to be zero adjustment at half-time. To put it bluntly, Argo defensive coordinator Corey Mace out-coached Buck Pierce who had no answers for whatever the Argo defence was doing. However, the way Collaros was playing, I am not sure it would have made a difference anyways. There was no Harris vs Oliveira comparison. Brady was under-utilized but was much, much better than Harris. Our vaunted O-line was abused, particularly in the second half. Couture specifically missed several assignments, but the whole damned O-line had difficulty picking up Argo blitzes. Jamal Parker was solely responsible for letting Kelly crack off that run which greatly impacted the momentum of the game. He has been good overall after a rough start but was once again suffering brain cramps. Whoever was responsible for Prukop's wildly ill-advised pass into double coverage ought to be fired. We had a good shot at winning right up to the last few minutes, but the Argos refused to fold, and were the better team on Sunday. So close and yet so far.
  19. Disagree. The two points made a difference only because of all the other, bigger screwups that kept the Bombers from being comfortably ahead.
  20. But one of many brain-dead decisions/plays.
  21. What a crappy way to end the season.
  22. Didn't deserve it. Argos out played them. This is on Collaros, the OC and Liegghio.
  23. OK. the fat lady has sung.
  24. OH.MY. GOD.
