  1. The interesting things about Wright (the Wright signing?) is that not only is he a big bugger (6'5" and 225lb), but he is also a punter/place kicker, but who knows how good he is? Still, it would be nice to have that kind of option in an emergency, ad we would have a lot less "roughing the kicker" penalties.
  2. His athletic skills have never been in question, and he has the advantage of having a damned good coach, O-line and offensive coordinator.
  3. It may come down to which quarterback has the best market value.
  4. If the Bombers get a real test against Montreal, and particularly if the home team wins, it ought to be a great dress rehearsal for the playoffs, and I think they need that as smelling salts.
  5. We have nothing to complain about with Wilson, but nothing to get excited about, either.
  6. Plus- there are a lot of weak teams this year that Kelly feasted on.
  7. In watching the highlights what impressed me most was that Bright did not get washed out in the line play much. Looks to be a blue-chip prospect who looked good in blue and gold. Now, if he is able to adapt to the CFL....
  8. In this game, Adams was everything Rourke was not .
  9. Not sure about that. The Stamps were a mess before Huffer took over and, IIRC, he had them competitive in a couple couple of years, thanks to a draft where he picked up 2 or 3 starting Canuck O-linemen in one draft.
  10. Some of us in this forum thought the loss in the last Grey Cup would produce significant change, but it did not.
  11. When you compare this season's finale versus last season's, there implications are not minute. Last year, the Bombers were fading as the playoffs approached and going into the playoffs on a two-game losing streak, particularly when the losses are to two good teams who are apt to be in the Grey /cup game would be very bad.
  12. And all the women in his vicinity.
  13. I wonder if, when there are those short weeks, that the team suffering that could have both games at home- or is that already happening?
  14. Agreed, but Ceresna is one of the best d-linemen in the league, and beside him was......"turnstile" Kolankowski. No help there at all.
  15. Don't hold your breath about the O-line suddenly getting better. They looked pretty much like they did in the first few games during that skid. The problems at center and right tackle persist. Lofton can be better and has been, but Kolankowski is just flat-out not good. There was a reason he was out of football for two years.
  16. And a crappy one at that.
  17. Am running out of words to describe Ottawa incompetence. Game is rapidly approaching unwatchability.
  18. The "why" is irrelevant- he is just not good enough. When the other four members of the O-line are cooking, he does not stand out as much, but when things are going poorly, he seems to have nothing more to offer.
  19. I am of the opinion that, as a unit, the Bomber O-line is so weak that opposing teams do not have to work very hard at all to eat their lunches and kick sand in their faces.
  20. The Kolankowski situation has regressed from sub-par to laughable. He is gonna get Collaros seriously killed.
  21. No question that the O-line was a mess all game. To my admittedly amateur eyes, the biggest (but not only) usual culprits were our center (very old news) and right tackle. Paddy was abandoned to try to compensate for the express lanes on his right and left. Dobson was shaky on occasion as well. Big Stan was his usual steady self you gotta plug all the holes or you get what we saw. Collaros bears some responsibility as well, and others in this forum have pointed that out. The elephant in the room is O'Shea's mule-headed resistance to significant change on both sides of the ball. Bombers are so close, yet so far away from being a steam-roller team, and the longer this goes on, the more this poop leaks over onto Walters.
  22. There were a half-dozen screwups of which even one not made would have saved the game, and some of those were on Pierce, Younger and O'Shea.
  23. Nah. We really did to ourselves.
  24. Collaros hesitated and that likely did it.
