Republicans have gone beyond intimidating voters at drop boxes and have started going door to door to harass those who might vote for Democrats. -Reuters reported on an incident in California: The canvassers in California’s Shasta County in September wore reflective orange vests and official-looking badges that read “Voter Taskforce.” Four residents said they mistook them for government officials. But the door knockers didn’t explain where to vote or promote a candidate, the usual work of canvassers ahead of a big election. Instead, they grilled residents on their voting history and who lived in their homes, probing questions that might have violated state laws on intimidation and harassment, according to the county’s chief election official. These sorts of incidents have happened in 19 states, where Trump supporters have taken the tradition of door-to-door canvassing to get out the vote and turned it into a harassment and intimidation technique designed to both discourage from voting, and if they do vote, challenging their ballots. In Michigan, Trump supporters plan to use the data that they gathered while harassing and intimidating voters to challenge votes. Trump and his supporters are using the traditional tools of democracy to attack democracy itself. The United States hasn’t since this level of voter intimidation since the Civil Rights era.

BRUCE IS WORTHLESS. So sick of them." The emails also show Marks expressing concern about putting Trump's name on a lawsuit that was riddled with false claims about voter fraud in Georgia, which he believed could leave Trump open to legal prosecution. "I don't know why we would place this burden on the President in a suit which will receive substantial attention and scrutiny," argued Marks, who was eventually overruled by other Trump lawyers. Finally, the emails show that Trump lawyers continued to plow ahead with their attempts to overturn the election even after the deadly riots at the United States Capitol. On Monday morning, October 31, Ringer was violently attacked by a man outside his home. Ringer, who is running for the Pennsylvania House seat presently held by the retiring Republican Rep. Matt Dowling, can't say for sure that the attack was politically motivated, but he suspects that it was. Ringer told Pittsburgh's Action News 4, "He had my arm behind my back, and he was pounding me. The only thing I have is the bruising on my hand and face, but he hit me a couple of times and knocked me out." According to Action News 4 reporter Jim Madalinsky, Ringer "has reported multiple incidents to state police over the past three weeks." "He said someone spray-painted a threatening message on his garage door a few weeks ago," Madalinsky reports. "One week later, Ringer said someone threw a brick through the window to his back door." Ringer told Action News 4, "All three incidents happened within the last three weeks, three weeks away from the election…. My neighborhood is safe. It's calm, and there's no crime whatsoever. I cannot believe the moves made today by the Riders, and I am sure that the Rider fans are flabbergasted. As has been posted, NONE of the glaring deficiencies have been addressed, and I bet their record in 2023 will be even worse. Only ego-driven and/or brain-damaged potential coaches will want into that mess.

Many workplaces have restrictions as to what must be worn as well as many professions. What happened was all theatre staged by right-wing nuts and gullible thralls. I hope that if another pandemic arrives the governments of the day have the intelligence and fortitude to reinstate restrictions as necessary. There have been many examples of what happened when common-sense restrictions were not instituted and enforced. A good deal of the distress in our healthcare system (and others) is directly attributable to the COVID pandemic and the thoughtless stupidity of those who spread it.

Moreover, Musk borrowed a tone of money from Saudis and the interest will be about ONE BILLION per year. Twitter has not been consistently profitable and not very profitable when it was.
