  1. Tucker Carlson Points Finger At Women And Weed For Latest Mass Shooting Fox News host Tucker Carlson has a theory about alleged mass shooting suspects, and part of the blame lies with women and weed. Carlson, during an episode of his show on Tuesday, weighed in on the appearance of 21-year-old Highland Park, Illinois, shooting suspect Robert E. Crimo. Crimo has been charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder after allegedly killing at least seven people and injuring dozens of others at a Fourth of July parade in the Chicago suburb Monday. Carlson, who questioned why Crimo didn’t “raise an alarm” on his show, claimed there’s “a lot” of men who look and act like him. The right-wing commentator blamed social media, porn, video games and drugs for the actions of men accused of mass shootings. “They are high on government-endorsed weed, ‘smoke some more, it’s good for you...’” Carlson said. Carlson proceeded to claim that gunmen in massacres think they’ll be “worse” off than their parents. “And yet the authorities in their lives ― mostly women ― never stops lecturing them about their so-called privilege.” https://www.huffpost.com/entry/tucker-carlson-women-weed-highland-park-shooting_n_62c50239e4b06e3d9bae1a77
  2. Reality is a ***** but it won't go away.
  3. If all else fails, you be reduced to sacrificing a virgin. If you can find one.
  4. You needed a chicken sacrifice at dawn to make that really work.
  5. PEDS: better living through chemistry!
  6. Awe is talented, no doubt but he would have to fit here. Bombers have picked up castoff/problem players before and rehabilitated them. He may be worth a look. I would draw the line at Brandon Banks, though. He conducts himself like a career moron.
  7. High Cost Of Russia Gains In Ukraine Could Limit New Advance After more than four months of ferocious fighting, Russia claimed a key victory: full control over one of the two provinces in Ukraine’s eastern industrial heartland. But Moscow’s rout of the last remaining bulwark of Ukrainian resistance in Luhansk province came at a steep price. The critical question now is whether Russia can muster enough strength for a new offensive to complete its seizure of the Donbas and make gains elsewhere in Ukraine. “Yes, the Russians have seized the Luhansk region, but at what price?” asked Oleh Zhdanov, a military analyst in Ukraine, noting that some Russian units involved in the battle lost up to a half their soldiers. Even President Vladimir Putin acknowledged Monday that Russian troops involved in action in Luhansk need to “take some rest and beef up their combat capability.” That raises doubts about whether Moscow’s forces and their separatist allies are ready to quickly thrust deeper into Donetsk, the other province that makes up the Donbas. Observers estimated in recent weeks that Russia controlled about half of Donetsk, and battle lines have changed little since then. What happens in the Donbas could determine the course of the war. If Russia succeeds there, it could free up its forces to grab even more land and dictate the terms of any peace agreement. If Ukraine, on the other hand, manages to pin the Russians down for a protracted period, it could build up the resources for a counteroffensive. In this handout photo released by Russian Defense Ministry Press Service on July 3, 2022, Russian soldiers set a Russian national flag and a replica of the Victory banner atop of the administration after capturing the eastern village of Bilohorivka which is now a territory under the Government of the Luhansk People's Republic control, eastern Ukraine. Exhausting the Russians has long been part of the plan for the Ukrainians, who began the conflict outgunned — but hoped Western weapons could eventually tip the scales in their favor. They are already effectively using heavy howitzers and advanced rocket systems sent by the U.S. and other Western allies, and more is on the way. But Ukrainian forces have said they remain badly outmatched. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/high-cost-of-russia-gains-in-ukraine-could-limit-new-advance_n_62c3f633e4b00a9334ec6d7f
  8. As for the commentators rooting for Toronto, they are in the business of selling a story, selling excitement, so they will cheer on an underdog or a comeback, not because they hate your team but because they want to keep the audience engaged and invested until the clock hits zero. Again probably not a popular take for many who have expressed their consistent disdain for the TSN broadcast. But I’m pretty confident Rod Smith and Duane Ford don’t care who wins or loses, nor do the refs unless they are betting on the outcome (and I don’t think an Argo-Bomber game is seeing such action as to make it worth the effort). But fans will fan, so to each their own. And I can only speak for myself, but I suppose I have reached the age where I realize that yelling at the TV is never going to change the call, whether that makes me less of a fan or just closer to a Zen state of enlightenment is for others to decide. Namaste. This I agree with.
  9. Leggs is not Medlock (yet) but he is good enough that we don't need to worry that he will cost us games. The least of our concerns at the moment.
  10. This is where the going is gonna get tough. Our secondary is good enough but I think the game will come down to how much pressure and coverage we are going to get from out front seven, and losing Kyrie Wilson is a big loss. So far we have not seen a reason to believe the Bomber offence in on the verge of breaking out, though. If our defence can unsettle Rourke, we may be able to keep close enough that maybe we can pull out a win in the fourth quarter with some ball control and heroics.
  11. Indictments are coming: At long last, criminal justice will catch up with Donald Trump Putting a former president on trial for alleged criminal behavior would be the first prosecution of its kind in American history. It would also do much toward restoring the myth that no person or corporation is above the law. As James Doyle has explained, putting Trump on trial "redeems American justice." Looking both backward and forward, I would argue that putting the former racketeer in chief and his accomplices on trial for seditious conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government — arguably the ultimate constitutional crime — is more tangible than the abstract goal of redeeming American justice. In this insurrectionary moment, "substantive" due process justice trumps "procedural" due process justice. After the first five public hearings held by the House select committee investigating the organized and coordinated activities of Donald J. Trump and his allies to steal the 2020 presidential election, culminating in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, it seemed apparent that Attorney General Merrick Garland would not prosecute Trump for two likely federal crimes: "obstructing an official proceeding" and engaging in a "conspiracy to defraud the United States." https://www.salon.com/2022/07/05/indictments-are-coming-at-long-last-criminal-justice-will-catch-up-with-donald/
  12. Fox News could be subject to major financial setback as judge OKs lawsuit over false election claims: report A judge ruling in favor of a billion-dollar defamation lawsuit moving forward signals the possibility of looming financial woes for Rupert Murdoch's Fox News. According to The Guardian, Delaware Supreme Court Judge Eric David in June ruled that Dominion Voting Systems could proceed with its defamation lawsuit against Fox News and its parent company, Fox Corporation. The lawsuit is a legal pushback against Fox News' reporting and perpetuation of voter fraud and election misinformation following the 2020 presidential election. Per The Guardian, David determined "that it was a reasonable inference that Murdoch and son Lachlan either knew outright that Dominion had not manipulated the election or 'recklessly disregarded the truth' when Fox disseminated lies initially launched by Donald Trump." Speaking to The Guardian, a number of legal experts have offered their perspective on the case and why it suggests trouble ahead of Fox News. Ciara Torres-Spelliscy, a Stetson University constitutional law professor and fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice, weighed in on Dominion's case as she noted that the voting technology company appears to have a substantial argument. “Dominion has a very strong case against Fox News,” Torres-Spelliscy said to the news outlet, adding that "all of the 'conspiracy theories about Dominion’s machines were just pure bunk,'" She also noted that "Fox as a news organization should have known that and not given this aspect of [Trump’s] ‘big lie’ a megaphone.” “I think once you start to pull the discovery material, what you’re going to find is there was a lot of communication between the Trump people both internally and externally about pushing very specific lies and narratives,” said Media Matters for America chief executive, Angelo Carusone. https://www.alternet.org/2022/07/election-lawsuit-fox-news/ However, Fox News is confident that it will survive this legal battle.
  13. Will be interesting to see if there will be a QB airlift into Hamilton. Evans may have looked good at times but he looks defeated.
  14. He neglected to mention that Democrats and left-wingers eat puppies and babies.
  15. Absolutely! No doubt it will get better as the O-line gets in sync with each other, but we definitely need a deep threat and better playcalling/execution on our passing game.
  16. As much as the commentators were hyping the Argos, I have little doubt that Harris would have powered in for the 2 points. He was driving up the middle for 4-5 yards every time he had the ball all the second half. The defence really won the game for the Blue, but they also had a good helping of luck that Bede missed what ought to have been an automatic and then there was that weird, infuriating "TD" that I will go to my grave disputing.
  17. These idiots (GOP politicians) need a theme song- something along the lines of "We Don't Talk About Bruno/guns/killings/neo-nazis/ militant churches/racism)"
  18. There are good strategic reasons for the West to continue supporting Ukraine. Should Putin's gamble pay off for him, his advisors have already begun saying how poorly ethnic Russians in Moldova, Estonia, Latvia and other places are being treated and that they need to be rescued. This is not idle talk and even the Poles. Bulgarians and Romanians are worried. From credible reports, as much as 80% of Russian military equipment and well over 100,000 troops are disabled and this is good news, but Putin is monomaniacal about pursuing his imperial objectives regardless of the cost.
  19. Brad Wall is adored by the conservatives because he is one of the few elected leaders who have not covered themselves with excrement before they retired, so he is the shining ideal. This knowledge, if widely disseminated, ought to take some of the shine off him. Well that was both inevitable and predicted starting with the "free man in the land/ sovereign citizen" ideology that first presented itself some 25 years ago and culminated with the "Queen of Canda"- Romana Didulo. There is absolutely zero legal basis for any of this but some choose to believe what they wish, even it is a fantasy.
  20. The Russians under Putin have been chipping away at Ukraine for decades with the aim of reducing it to a rump state, which would have to depend on Russia and eventually become a province. Had they stopped at Donetsk and Crimea, they might have gotten away with it, but greed and arrogance has led Putin to try for a much larger grab. With all the new military equipment flooding into Ukraine, and the demoralized state of the Russian military, Ukraine has a good chance of regaining the lost territory. There is good evidence that Putin in unwell- cancer or Parkinson's and his death would change everything. The Russian oligarchs are really chafing at the restrictions and losses they are forced to undergo and will take that for only so long.
  21. The net effect of his quickness and elusiveness was still little better than Oliveira or Augustine. The logical conclusion is that the O-line has to do better, With the opposition not respecting the running game, the linebackers can drop into coverage and disrupt the the only passing game have- the short and medium passes. So the offence suffers.
