  1. Mike Pence's Security Detail Feared For Their Lives During Jan. 6 Capitol Riot Members of former Vice President Mike Pence’s security detail were so afraid for their lives during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot that they made calls over radio to say goodbye to their family members, according to testimony given to the House committee investigating the attack. “The members of the VP detail at this time were starting to fear for their own lives,” a former White House national security official said in testimony to the committee that aired in a hearing on Thursday. The official’s identity was withheld for security reasons. “There was a lot of yelling, a lot of very personal calls over the radio,” the official added. “It was disturbing. I don’t like talking about it, but there were calls to say goodbye to family members. The VP detail thought that this was going to get very ugly.” https://www.huffpost.com/entry/january-6-mike-pence-secret-service_n_62d9f860e4b03dbb9916f641
  2. Trump-appointed Secret Service watchdog knew about deleted texts — but didn’t tell Congress: report. DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, a former Republican advisor, previously quashed Secret Service probes The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General learned that the Secret Service deleted nearly all texts from Jan. 6 but did not inform Congress, according to The Washington Post. Two whistleblowers who worked with Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump after serving as an advisor to Republican Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and former Gov. Jan Brewer, revealed the months-long delay in reporting a purge of Secret Service texts that has come under scrutiny by the Jan. 6 committee, according to the report. One whistleblower reported the decision by Cuffari's office not to disclose the purge to the Project on Government Oversight (POGO), an independent watchdog group, which then relayed the information to congressional staff. Staffers then corroborated the account with a second whistleblower, according to the Post. Cuffari's office in October 2021 had also prepared a public alert sounding the alarm that the Secret Service and other divisions of DHS were stonewalling it on requests for records and texts around the time of the Capitol riot but never issued it, sources told the outlet. https://www.salon.com/2022/07/21/appointed-secret-watchdog-knew-about-deleted-texts--but-didnt-tell-congress-report/
  3. Somehow, for me at least, killing for pleasure is just wrong.
  4. Does anyone remember the Bomberooskie?
  5. You're part of the witless relocation program?
  6. Trump thought that he could avoid prosecution by declaring himself a candidate for president, but Attorney General Merrick Garland put an end to that. Garland was asked about investigating a former president, and he answered, “No person is above the law in this country, nothing stops us. I don’t know how to — I’ll say that again. No person is above the law in this country. I can’t say it any more clearly than that. There is nothing in the Constitution, in any other factors which prevent us from investigating anyone, anyone who’s criminally responsible for an attempt to undo a democratic election.”
  7. Maybe we should offer contraceptives?
  8. Agreed. The American Department of Justice is investigating the mysterious disappearance of Secret Service text messages from 1/6.
  9. Having said that, you may now need to flee the country.
  10. Agudosi is just getting warmed up.
  11. I don't know which is more remarkable- Trump's mangling of the English language or Meadows having the bald-faced temerity to defend and praise it.
  12. No question some hunt for food that they would have struggled to obtain otherwise, but for many the food is the cover story.
  13. But what about Nic Demski?
  14. I like a joke as much as the next person, but this is getting silly.
  15. Its called self-pity- AKA "poor me".
  16. Now they are quoting his mom. Sad. Just sad.
  17. The British media is now reporting that Putin will declare the war won and annex the parts of Ukraine they have seized as integral parts of Russia now and all residents will be Russian citizens immediately. He and his advisors have realized that they are in danger of being pushed right back to previous borders and perhaps even lose Crimea, so to avoid the appearance of loss (confirmation, really) this is the only way he can save face and claim a sort of victory. That would allow him to rebuild his military and prepare for the next invasion. The weapons that Europe and other allies provided to Ukraine have now begun to be widely used with devastating effect on the Russian forces, so any sort of real victory is beyond Putin's grasp now.
  18. That has been his plan since he realized he was in danger of being not only arrested but convicted despite his money and bravado. However, recent polls have put Florida DeSantis ahead of him in the nomination race and gaining a greater lead. So, he is boned unless he flees the country, which is a definite possibility. Orange jumpsuits clash with his orange skin.
