Rep. Elise Stefanik Attacks Mysterious 'Pedo Grifters' For Shortage Of Infant Formula Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who describes herself as “pro-life,” blamed the White House and mysterious “pedo grifters” on Friday for America’s infant formula shortage — and called for denying formula to migrant’s babies. The “White House, House Dems, & usual pedo grifters are so out of touch with the American people that rather than present ANY PLAN or urgency to address the nationwide baby formula crisis, they double down on sending pallets of formula to the southern border,” Stefanik wrote in a tweet. The “usual pedo grifters,” who were unidentified, appeared to be a reference to a particularly outlandish QAnon conspiracy theory that an international ring of child sex traffickers is being operated by Democratic leaders. A Stefanik spokesperson insisted to The Independent that the imagined “pedo grifters” also included Republicans. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/elise-stefanik-formula-shortage-pro-life-immigrant-babies_n_627ee897e4b050d95191ed13

Ukraine 'Appears To Have Won Battle Of Kharkiv,' Entering New Phase Of War KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian troops are withdrawing from Ukraine’s second-largest city after weeks of heavy bombardment, the Ukrainian military said Saturday, as Kyiv and Moscow’s forces engaged in a grinding battle for the country’s eastern industrial heartland. Ukraine’s general staff said the Russians were pulling back from the northeastern city of Kharkiv and focusing on guarding supply routes, while launching mortar, artillery and airstrikes in the eastern Donetsk province in order to “deplete Ukrainian forces and destroy fortifications.” Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said Ukraine was “entering a new - long-term - phase of the war.” After failing to capture Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, the Russian military decided to concentrate on the Donbas, but its troops have struggled to gain and hold ground. Before the war, Ukraine had its most highly trained soldiers in the region to stave off the Russia-backed rebels. Russia has captured some villages and towns during its invasion. The Ukrainian military chief for the Donbas’ Luhansk province said Friday that Russian troops had nearly full control of Rubizhne, a city with a prewar population of around 55,000. Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s forces had also made progress, retaking six Ukrainian towns or villages in the past day. Western officials said Ukraine had driven Russian forces back around Kharkiv. The largely Russian-speaking city was a Russian key military objective in the early phase of the war, when Moscow was still hoping to capture and hold major Ukrainian cities. The Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank, said Ukraine “appears to have won the Battle of Kharkiv.” It said, “Ukrainian forces prevented Russian troops from encircling, let alone seizing Kharkiv, and then expelled them from around the city.” Regional governor Oleh Sinegubov said in a post on the Telegram messaging app that there had been no shelling attacks on Kharkiv in the past day. He said Ukraine had launched a counteroffensive near Izyum, a city 125 kilometers (78 miles) south of Kharkiv that has been under effective Russian control since at least the beginning of April. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/russia-kharkiv-withdraw_n_627f935fe4b050d9519247f3

Very windy in rural areas. On a farm near Portage La Prairie, a hen was seen to lay the same egg three times.

Russia Loses ‘Entire Battalion’ on Blown Up Bridge: Satellite images appear to show the remnants of tanks and other Russian military hardware around a destroyed pontoon bridge over a river in the Luhansk region. (This means a loss of 1500 troops and 12-15 armoured vehicles.)

“Pro-Life” Gov. Greg Abbott Demands That Biden Starve Babies Texas Gov. Greg Abbott demanded that Biden stop providing baby formula to migrant babies in US custody on the border. Children are our most vulnerable, precious Texans and deserve to be put first. Yet, President Biden has turned a blind eye to parents across America who are facing the nightmare of a nationwide baby formula shortage. While mothers and fathers stare at empty grocery store shelves in a panic, the Biden Administration is happy to provide baby formula to illegal immigrants coming across our southern border. This is yet another one in a long line of reckless, out-of-touch priorities from the Biden Administration when it comes to securing our border and protecting Americans. Our children deserve a president who puts their needs and survival first – not one who gives critical supplies to illegal immigrants before the very people he took an oath to serve. Starve the babies while taking away abortion rights is what Republicans mean by pro-life. Gov. Abbott doesn’t suggest what President Biden should do with all of the babies that will no longer be fed. Republicans have no real plan. It’s just nothing but an endless spewing of hare-brained anger intended to divide the country. It doesn’t matter to them that starve the babies isn’t a winning political message to about 70% of the country. Republicans want to take away the right to choose, then take away the right to food. https://www.politicususa.com/2022/05/12/pro-life-gov-greg-abbott-demands-that-biden-starve-babies.html

Missouri Looks to Ban Pharmacists From Disputing Efficacy of Ivermectin -Getty When the Missouri state legislature on Wednesday passed a standard-issue licensure bill for physical therapists, few noticed a clandestine provision on its 32nd page banning pharmacists from telling patients about the potential dangers of using unproven drugs touted by conspiracy fringe groups as “forbidden cures” for COVID-19. The measure in the bill, passed unanimously by the state’s General Assembly, specifically bars pharmacists from disputing “the efficacy of ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets for human use” unless specifically asked by a patient or physician. No evidence has been produced to show that ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are effective treatments for the coronavirus, and in some cases they have been found to be actively harmful to patients. Lindsey Simmons, a former Missouri congressional candidate, was one of the few who did notice the measure, pointing out in a thread on Twitter that “nevertheless, the Missouri legislature has chosen to ‘own the libs’ by issuing a gag order against every pharmacist in this state from offering their medical opinion on taking either one of those medications—even if it could kill their patient.” The bill currently awaits a signature from Missouri’s Republican governor, Mike Parson. (Ivermectin ought to be the mandatory treatment for all GOP republicans if the contract COVID in any of its forms)

Urine-Drinking Anti-Vax Leader Pisses Off Florida Judge Anti-COVID-19 “Vaccine Police” leader Christopher Key appeared before a Florida judge Thursday afternoon over a trespassing charge stemming from attempting to attend a right-wing conference where he wasn’t welcomed. The court proceeding quickly got off to a bumpy start as Judge Dawn K. Hudson asked Key to raise his right hand, only for the man who believes drinking urine will cure COVID, to raise his left hand. “Your other right hand,” the judge said. The state of Florida then moved to offer Key the following plea deal: three months probation, adjudication of guilt, and an 8-hour anger management class. From there, Key, pled his innocence. “Did you take an oath of office?” he asked Judge Hudson. Despite the commotion, the judge ruled that Key would have to appear at another hearing later this month. That didn’t stop Key from making himself heard. “Do you understand that you have now broken your oath of office, correct? That is a criminal and a civil offense!” Key yelled at Judge Hudson. “I am a free man on the land.” The judge then booted Key from the Zoom room. Following the hearing, Key told The Daily Beast that the hearing was “priceless.”

They are following Ronald Reagan (the FBI informer) who said that he wanted to shrink government to a size so small that he could then drown it in a bathrtub. Businesses abhor any restriction that might interfere with their ability to make money regardless of any damage to anyone or anything.

GOP Crusade Against Abortion Could Lead To Contraception Bans With Roe v. Wade on the chopping block, Republicans have increasingly been speaking up about other Supreme Court cases they don’t like. After all, with conservatives possessing a 6-3 majority, why not make a wish list? One of the cases that’s coming up is Griswold v. Connecticut, the 1965 decision that said married couples have a right to contraception access. It struck down a Connecticut law that outlawed the use of birth control devices. Griswold was a landmark case, ruling against Connecticut on the basis of a married couple’s right to privacy. It set the stage for future decisions ensuring contraception access for unmarried couples, same-sex marriage rights and, of course, abortion access in Roe v. Wade. Many Republicans abhor Griswold precisely because it is the foundation for so many other decisions. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) recently said it was “constitutionally unsound.” Arizona GOP Senate candidate Blake Masters’ campaign website said he would only support judges “who understand that Roe and Griswold and Casey were wrongly decided, and that there is no constitutional right to abortion.” In February, Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate Jeff Bartos called Griswold a “terrible decision.” That same month, Matt DePerno, the Republican nominee for Michigan attorney general, said, “Listen, all these cases that deal — Griswold, Roe v. Wade, Dobbs — these are all state right issues. ... It’s going to be a state right issue on all of these things — as it should be!” Masters has clarified that he does not favor banning contraceptives. But if Republicans get what they want ― an overturning of Griswold ― it would kick the issue back to the states and open the door to restrictions or bans on birth control methods, because there would be no federal guarantee of access. Griswold will not be overturned imminently. Even Amy Coney Barrett admitted as much during her confirmation hearings in 2020, saying, “I think that Griswold is very, very, very, very, very, very unlikely to go anywhere.” But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. After all, very few people believed Roe would be overturned too. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/republicans-supreme-court-contraception_n_627ab11fe4b046ad0d829a0a

A vote would have been democratic, and that would not sit well with the Harper regime. The Americans tried repeatedly to attack the Wheat Board through GATT and NAFTA, losing all times, so they had Harper do it for them.

Hydro is being starved to death. Hydro has been hamstrung in updating critical equipment since the start of the Pallister regime. It is a parallel to what has been done to our medicare system. Do not assume that just because a government action would be disastrous for a PC party, they will not do it. The MTS example is a prime example. To them, dogma is often more important that re-election as they expect to be personally rewarded later.

UCP MLA Brian Jean said Monday that he has filed a complaint with Elections Alberta after his team discovered eight credit cards were used to purchase more than 4,619 memberships to the party. When asked how he found the information, Jean says he discovered the situation by "digging." "We know now that there were more than 4,000 memberships that were purchased under very dubious circumstances and the only team that could buy them under those circumstances was Jason Kenney's team," the MLA for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche said. "Our understanding is that multiple parties made complaints with Elections Alberta in relation to this and we understand they're investigating it." UCP says report of member receiving 2 leadership vote ballots ‘not a concern’ In a statement, Elections Alberta said it is "unable to comment about allegations that we may or may not have received, or investigations that we may or may not be conducting." Government House Leader Jason Nixon said Monday that the UCP was "not aware" of an investigation, but noted that bulk purchasing of memberships is "standard process," that Jean would likely have used himself.
