  1. One way or another, regardless of the election outcome, I suspect this will be Justin Trudeau's swan song. He has shown poor judgement and calling the election (if it was his choice) would be the coup de grace. Besides, someone has to take the bullet.
  2. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa. Excellent!!!
  3. If they possibly can, they will. If they are in a dead heat with the Liberals and the Liberals are asked to form a coalition, the Cons will probably scream bloody murder.
  4. I'm pretty sure that the collective egos of the Cons would not allow them to be measured in their governance, and that would lead to another election. When you promise to relax gun laws, reduce access to abortion and begin to privatize healthcare and yet not deliver, that would arouse ire among supporters. The Liberals, NDP and Bloc would stop those dead in their tracks.
  5. The shopping cart incident was bad enough, but the road rage incident was downright scary and is a good indication of the degree of fanaticism in the anti-vaxxer camp. Anti-vaxx couple dies of virus after claiming they survived pandemic despite being unvaccinated Another day, another anti-vaxxer death. As the delta variant continues to spread across the country, anti-vaxxers are not only filling up hospitals but facing death. Almost every day, news of a popular anti-vaxxer being hospitalized or dying as a result of COVID-19 seems to make headlines. In the most recent incident, two YouTubers from Alabama who were popular for online resale tips died as a result of COVID-19 days after they posted a video confirming they would never get vaccinated, AL.com reported. "We are ALIVE and still Reselling on eBay," the couple said in their last video. The couple, Dusty Graham and Tristan Graham, known as "Alabama Pickers," posted quite a few videos on their YouTube channel denying COVID-19. The channel has since then been taken down, but their last video remains online reposted through other accounts, including the channel "Vaxx Mann." That channel belongs to the website sorryanitvaxxer.com, which is dedicated to resharing social media posts from people who publicly opposed the COVID-19 vaccine only to later die from the virus. According to a GoFundMe page set up by their children, Dusty died Thursday after battling COVID-19 for three weeks. His wife had "passed suddenly in her sleep" weeks earlier due to coronavirus complications on Aug. 25. "Unfortunately Dusty and Tristan have both passed away," the couple's daughter, Windsor Graham, said. "Thank you for all the kind words and helping us during this difficult time. We will be using the money to pay for funeral expenses." The announcement of their deaths follows an announcement from Dusty weeks earlier that he was in the ICU "battling it [COVID-19] out." The 90-minute video came days before his announcement and addressed in detail why the couple would never get vaccinated and their stance on other COVID-19 measures. "Still haven't gotten the you know what," Dusty said before mimicking a syringe jab. "Still not planning on getting it." 6. That Wilder scored two TDs running up the middle would indicate that our run coverage could be better.
  7. So far, I am pleased to read that the disagreements have been reasonably civil on this forum, and I hope it continues- the ad hominem postings add nothing to the debates and serve only to turn people off. Similarly, every win ought to be celebrated, but let us keep in mind that we are unlikely to go undefeated for the rest of the season.
  8. It seems to me that the Liberal ad blitz over the weekend highlighting the O'Toole/Conservative policies that are out of step with the majority of Canadian voters' values was pretty effective. And yes, the lunatic-fringe PPC party will hurt the Conservatives in key ridings.
  9. There have been a couple of ugly incidents reported in Winkler. In one a woman in a store was photographing maskless shoppers, one of whom tried to run her off the road when she left. In the other, a maskless person reported that a masked person pushed a shopping cart and swore at him. No arrests have been made as yet. I guess this sort of thing was bound to happen.
  10. In the Freep today, O'Shea was quoted as expressing confidence in his kickers that they would work their way out of their current struggles.
  11. America’s Cops Are Throwing a Sick COVID Temper Tantrum -Getty The coronavirus killed more police officers in America last year, 145, than the 135 who were killed on the job in 2019 by gunfire, heart attacks, car crashes and everything else combined. This year, COVID-19 is on track to again be the leading cause of death for cops, though the still-climbing death toll could be significantly slowed by the vaccine, which is widely available, highly effective and, not for nothing, a solution the National Fraternal Order of Police asked their 350,000 members be given early access to back in January. But cops around the country are not only refusing to wear masks where they’re required and when they’ve been ordered to, they’re also vocally opposing vaccine mandates—threatening walkouts, demanding exemptions on specious grounds, and, in many places, filing lawsuits. The grim reality that one out of every 500 people in the U.S. have died of COVID since the pandemic began isn’t apparently enough to motivate many police to get vaccinated.
  12. Agreed. It's cost us points, but not games so far, but I think its only a matter of time.
  13. Neo-Nazis need to look good, too. Don't be mean.
  14. Agreed, but if the talent and mindset are not there, its gonna be a struggle.
  15. Despite Wilder being a jackhole, he is physically talented and probably the best pure running back in the league. Others are a better package of running, blocking and catching, and I would not want him on my team, but he is what he is.
  16. Because of Trump getting into indefensible legal scrapes and then not paying his attorneys because they did not win or win well enough, no law firm of any note will now accept him as a client. So, he is reduced to hiring the dregs of the law community most of whom are barely competent to argue a parking ticket.
  17. Just a tad off. A "tad" being 1.6 kilometers,
  18. I'm fading out, so goodnight, all. I expect the Blue to up their game in the second half and walk away with the game. Elks are hanging on by their fingernails and it cannot last unless the Bombers let them off the hook.
  19. Collaros should stop trying to force the ball despite his three TD passes. An effective short-pass game will loosen up both the pass rush and options for the deep ball. Bombers need a lot of variety in their attack. And get to Cornelius.
  20. But really doing nothing.
  21. Would be nice if we flattened Corny soon.
  22. Suddenly, our kicking game is a concern. Or not. Tell Moutada that 52 virgins are waiting impatiently for him if he aces every kick.
  23. Demski has to come back to the ball there.
  24. Pretty obvious that the Elks are expecting a lot of Harris, so gotta use the hot routes.
  25. Demski strikes again!!!
