  1. Trump Is Fantasizing About a $2 Billion Presidential Library and Museum in Florida: WaPo President Donald Trump is telling his supporters and donors he wants to collect $2 billion for a presidential library and museum in Florida, The Washington Post reports. He envisions it run by his social media director Dan Scavino, who formerly served as Trump’s social media director but more recently worked as his deputy chief of staff. Such a sum would far exceed the cost of other presidential libraries, but Trump reportedly believes he can raise it via small-dollar donations from a grassroots campaign among supporters. Former Trump associates believe it will be difficult for him to raise the money in the wake of the scandal over the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. “I thought to myself, what is this alternative fantasy life you’re living? I have no clue where they think they’ll get this money raised. Anyone who gives to him will be radioactive,” an unnamed fundraiser told the Post of the plans. The commander in chief plans to leave Washington, D.C. for his new permanent residence in Florida before Joe Biden’s inauguration, which he does not plan to attend.
  2. Mary Trump: My Uncle ‘Enjoyed Every Second’ Of Capitol Riot "He is a physical coward but he’s perfectly happy when other people commit violence on his behalf," said Donald Trump's niece. There is “no question” in Mary Trump’s mind that her uncle President Donald Trump wanted his mob of supporters to storm the U.S. Capitol last week. “One, he enjoyed every second of it,” Mary Trump told Sirius XM Radio host Dean Obeidallah on Friday. “He is a physical coward but he’s perfectly happy when other people commit violence on his behalf.” “Secondly, again, he really thought that that was a way to change the results of the legitimate election,” added Mary Trump, a psychologist who last year penned a damning memoir about the president and has been one of his harshest critics ever since. Mary Trump’s take on her uncle’s state of mind during the violence that left five people dead squares with that of Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) who has cited White House aides describing Trump as “delighted” when the Capitol was overrun. At a rally before the riot, Trump had told his supporters that he’d join them to the Capitol. Instead, he returned to the White House and watched the insurrection, for which he was impeached by the House on Wednesday for inciting, unfurl on television. The president “was walking around the White House confused about why other people on his team weren’t as excited as he was as ... rioters [pushed] against Capitol police, trying to get into the building,” said Sasse. “That was happening. He was delighted.” Mary Trump: My Uncle ‘Enjoyed Every Second’ Of Capitol Riot | HuffPost Canada (huffingtonpost.ca)
  3. Capitol rioters say an officer told them 'it's your house now' The U.S. Capitol riots took place more than one week ago but the FBI is still uncovering details about the grim historic event. According to The Hill, two of the rioters arrested for storming the U.S. Capitol have revealed a Capitol police officer actually told them "it's your house now" as they breached the federal building. A criminal complaint filed on Thursday, Jan. 14 outlines FBI agents' interview with Robert Bauer, of Cave City, Va., and his cousin Edward Hemenway, Winchester, Va., two men who admitted that they were among the pro-Trump mob that entered the building as lawmakers worked to certify the Electoral College vote. The two recounted what occurred that day as they recalled their discussion with the officer. The complaint reads, 'Both Bauer and Hemenway recalled staying on the same level of the U.S. Capitol, while inside the building. Both men remembered encountering a police officer after they entered. According to Bauer, the police officer grabbed his hand, shook it, and said, 'It's your house now.' Bauer believed that the policeman was acting out of fear. Hemenway similarly recalled the officer shaking Hemenway's hand and Hemenway said, 'Sorry,' to which the officer replied, 'It's your house now, man,' and gave Hemenway a half-hug.'" Bauer admitted that he believes the officer responded in fear due to the mob rushing into the building. However, that officer's identity still remains unknown. On Friday, the men appeared in federal court in Bowling Green, Va., as they pleaded not guilty to charges of "trespassing and knowingly entering a restricted building or grounds," according to the Courier-Journal. 4. Still, its good news and we are moving in the right direction once again.
  5. That was a major mistake for Pallister, and people died because of it.
  6. 'Kill him with his own gun': These officers reveal the horror of facing the pro-Trump mob at the Capitol Michael Fanone, a member of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department, was among the people who feared for his life when a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6. Fanone discussed coming face to face with that mob during an interview with CNN, explaining why he avoided firing his gun. CNN reported that after the rioters stormed the Capitol Building, the 40-year-old Fanone was forced outside and was tased several times by rioters. Fanone told CNN that although he considered using his gun, he decided against it because he knew he was badly outnumbered. "Kill him with his own gun." An officer describes what the rioters said as he lay on the US Capitol floor after be… https://t.co/LtG3AwCrVF — CNN (@CNN)1610719800.0 Fanone recalled, "Some guys started getting ahold of my gun, and they were screaming out, 'Kill him with his own gun.' At that point, you know, it was just like self-preservation — how do I survive this situation? And I thought about using deadly force. I thought about shooting people. And then, I just came to the conclusion that if I did that, I might get a few — but I'm not going to take everybody. And they'll probably take my gun away from me, and that will give them the justification they were looking for to kill me." The officer continued, "The other option I thought of was (to) try to appeal to somebody's humanity. And I remember yelling out that I have kids, and it seemed to work. Some people in the crowd started to encircle me and offer me some level of protection." 7. There is a mentally unstable person in the White House whose behaviours can only be predicted in psychiatric terms. Capitol Police Intelligence Warned Of Insurrection Days In Advance: Report An internal memo warned that "Congress itself is the target," according to documents obtained by The Washington Post. The U.S. Capitol Police intelligence unit was aware, days before last week’s insurrection, that a mob of Donald Trump’s supporters posed a serious threat to the Capitol building and everyone inside, a report obtained by The Washington Post on Friday shows. The 12-page, internal report was issued on Jan. 3, three days before the attack, and warned that the “sense of desperation and disappointment” among Trump supporters “may lead to more of an incentive to become violent. Unlike previous post-election protests, the targets of the pro-Trump supporters are not necessarily the counter-protesters as they were previously, but rather Congress itself is the target on the 6th.” It appears that the report was not widely shared with other law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI, the Post reported, noting it could have alerted authorities to the high risk of a security breach at the Capitol. Two people familiar with the internal report told the Post that the intelligence unit’s director, Jack Donohue, relayed its message to all Capitol Police command staff. Another law enforcement official said the report led the department to place barricades farther from the Capitol than it has during past events. 8. Would you have bet that the insurrection that boiled up on the 6th would have happened the way it did?
  9. The troubling thing about this apparently credible report is that, due to Trump's psychotic state of mind, and his resident personality, he is just apt to take another last, desperate, insane stab at hanging onto power by declaring a state of emergency and then invoking martial law. DO NOT put it past him.
  10. Photo raises alarms about a Trump ally still pushing election conspiracies at the White House My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell arrived at the White House on Friday for an apparent meeting with President Donald Trump, raising alarms after a press photographer shared a close-up shot of the visitor's notes. While the image wasn't entirely clear — the paper was folded in half, and some of the text was blurry due to the distance at which the photo was taken — it strongly indicated that Lindell planned to bring up with Trump widely debunked conspiracy fictions about the 2020 election. The notes even suggested he would push for personnel changes, the invocation of the Insurrection Act, and the possible declaration of martial law. This troubling meeting occurred, of course, under the dark shadow of the previous week's disaster at the U.S. Capitol, where supporters riled up by the president violently overtook the building in order to stop the affirmation of President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College win. Those events led the House of Representatives to call for Trump's immediate removal and to impeach him on the charge of inciting and insurrection. Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, however, both made clear that neither would use their respective powers to facilitate Trump's removal before his official last day in office, Jan. 20. The fact that Trump appears to be meeting with someone still pursuing the idea that the election result was illegitimate and perhaps could still be overturned shows the danger of leaving him in office, even if he has released statements that seem to acknowledge Biden will be president by next week. Jabin Botsford, a staff photographer with the Washington Post, shared the photo in question on Twitter: Here's what appears to be visible on the document: The title includes the words "...taken immediately to save the... the Constitution" A suggestion for someone to be appointed "NOW as Acting National Security ..." A reference to "getting the evidence of all the... the election and information regarding..." A reference to "[In]surrection Act now as a result of the assault on the... [m]artial law if necessary upon the first hint of any..." A direct reference to "Sidney Powell," a lawyer who has promoted some of the wildest conspiracy theories about the election The suggestion to "Move Kash Patel to CIA Acting" (Patel is a close Trump ally who has been on the periphery of several of his schemes) A reference to "Foreign Interference in the election. Trigger... powers. Make clear this is China/Iran ... domestic [a]ctors. Altogether, the visible information looks like a continuation of the election disinformation and false conspiracy theories that have been repeatedly debunked and that flopped in court. It also seems that Lindell has suggestions for how Trump should respond to this information using his remaining days as president, though the outline of the scheme is unclear. How seriously Lindell is taking these ideas is also not certain, though he has been a fervent and erratic defender of the president, and Trump's reception to the ideas is unknown. In light of everything that has happened, however, the meeting is highly alarming. "It won't happen, of course, but still a gentle reminder that the president is still completely batshit insane, heavily invested in his own conspiracy theories, and is going to spend his remaining hours listening to sycophants tell him how to burn various institutions down," said national security commentator Matt Tait on Twitter. "Protip for impeachment managers is to print this out in really big and point at it with a telescopic pointer to remind senators that *one week* after the failed Capitol attack the president was having meetings with sycophants to talk about the 'insurrection act' and 'marshal law.'" (Sure as spit sounds like Trump was being encouraged/directed on how to try to overthrow the government again. Unless I miss my guess, counselling someone to commit sedition is a crime- the FBI otta talk to this idiot.)
  11. Feeling Betrayed, Far-Right Extremists Have A New Message For Trump: 'Get Out Of Our Way' As Trump backs down from his “Stop the Steal” hoax, the supporters he radicalized are vowing to carry on the fight without him. For months, President Donald Trump’s message to his supporters was clear: The election was being stolen from him, and they needed to fight to take it back. So on Jan. 6, during a Trump-promoted rally to “Stop the Steal,” thousands laid siege to the U.S. Capitol in a stunning attempt to do just that. The fallout of their failed insurrection, which resulted in five deaths, was swift: Trump was deplatformed from nearly every major social network and, on Wednesday, impeached for a historic second time. When he emerged on camera a short while later, tail tucked between his legs, to condemn the rioters whom he himself had incited, and to call for a peaceful transfer of power to President-elect Joe Biden, his base felt betrayed. “So he basically just sold out the patriots who got rounded up for him,” one person wrote in a 15,000-member pro-Trump Telegram group. “Just wow.” In online havens for MAGA extremists, including Gab, CloutHub, MeWe, Telegram and far-right message boards such as 8kun, the tone toward Trump is shifting. HuffPost reviewed thousands of messages across these platforms and found that a growing minority of the president’s once-devout backers are now denouncing him and rejecting his recent pleas for peace. Some have called for his arrest or execution, labeling him a “traitor” and a “coward.” Alarmingly, many of those who are irate about Biden’s supposed electoral theft are still plotting to forcibly prevent him from taking office — with or without Trump’s help. 12. Agreed, but if he declared martial law, he would not have to answer to anyone.
  13. I find it ironic that two of the premiers that I would have thought would have fumbled the COVID crisis have been two of the most adept. I have personal issues with the way Pallister has managed the province, but for the most part, I have to applaud his actions in the pandemic.
  14. Pence has presidential aspirations(fantasies) but to do that he will have to avoid criticizing Trump, trump's abysmal record, or the racists who supported Trump. He will call for unity but will stickhandle around criticizing by name the Qanon/Proud Boys/Oathkeepers etc etc. Gonna be a tough tightrope act.
  15. The band is getting back together again!
  16. As a footnote to the above post, not only would Trump have been unfazed by rioters hanging Pence, I believe he would have welcomed it for two reasons: firstly, it would have confirmed to the psychotic Trump that his followers loved him so much they were willing to kill for him,( a tremendous ego boost, adding to his grandiose self-image) and secondly, it would have provided him the excuse he desperately wants to declare a national state of emergency (nevermind that he fomented it) and then he would have a pretext to declare martial law. This would have allowed him (in theory) to extend his reign indefinitely. I find it bizarre to say the least that there is an unwritten rule that no president can be charged with a criminal offence, no matter how egregious while in office, nor will he be charged after leaving office for crimes committed while president. The convention is that it would be bad for national unity, so even if the president commits traitorous acts, he will walk free.
  17. Fleeing The Scene Of The Crime: Trump Will Leave White House Before Biden Is Sworn In: Report President Trump plans to leave the White House on the morning of Jan. 20 and will hold a goodbye event at Joint Base Andrews, Reuters has reported. Trump has said he won’t be attending Biden’s inauguration that day, making him the fifth president to miss their successor’s swearing-in ceremony. His goal is to leave Washington while he is still president and before President-elect Biden is sworn in—he reportedly doesn’t want to wait until after, which could require him to ask Biden to borrow Air Force One. Although it’s unclear where he will fly directly after his departure next week, he’s said to have decided to settle in at Mar-a-Lago for the next phase of his life and bring some of his aides with him. Trump Will Leave White House Before Biden Is Sworn In: Report (thedailybeast.com) Pence Was ‘Seconds’ Away From Being Spotted by Capitol Mob: WaPo The Trumpist mob that stormed the Capitol last week got dangerously close to one of their apparent targets: Vice President Mike Pence. A lone police officer was chased up the stairs during the attack, and if the officer had been unable to hold rioters back, they would have reached the landing and seen Pence, The Washington Post reports. Instead, rioters reached a landing area just seconds after Pence and his family passed through as the vice president was whisked away to safety. The Post reports it took 14 minutes from when rioters began attempting to break into the Capitol for Pence to be rushed from the Senate chamber to a hiding spot, an astoundingly long time given the heightened danger of the situation. During the attack some rioters were heard chanting, “Hang Mike Pence!” Jacob Chansley, the “QAnon Shaman,” left a note on Pence’s desk that said, “it’s only a matter of time, justice is coming,” his charging documents allege.
  18. Fox & Friends: Twitter banning extremists like QAnon is ‘very scary’ because you can’t make decisions ‘based on truth’ "Fox & Friends" is defending what it is calling "conservative voices" and "conservative speech" by denouncing Twitter expunging 70,000 accounts tied to extremist groups like QAnon. Friday morning the Fox News morning show declared these extremists peddling often dangerous conspiracy theories and lies about the election are important voices of "truth" in the national conversation, which is false. "It's very scary as to how this is going to affect you," co-host Ainsley Earhardt told viewers, "because they're trying to shut down voices so that you don't know the full story, and you can't make a decision based on truth."

U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in support of the whole-of-America COVID-19 response. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage states across America, one surgeon has issued a warning that may serve as a reminder to stay vigilant. According to CBS News, Dr. Brittany Bankhead-Kendall, a Lubbock, Texas trauma surgeon, tweeted an observation of COVID's impact on the lungs as she highlighted the likely long-term difficulties people will face. "Post-COVID lungs look worse than any type of terrible smoker's lung we've ever seen. And they collapse. And they clot off. And the shortness of breath lingers on... & on... & on." During an interview with CBS Dallas-Fort Worth, Bankhead-Kendall revealed what she thinks is far worse than the mortality rate that most people focus on. She expressed concern about the long-term impacts COVID-positive and even asymptomatic people may face. "Everyone's just so worried about the mortality thing and that's terrible and it's awful," she told the publication. "But man, for all the survivors and the people who have tested positive this is — it's going to be a problem."
  20. Capitol Rioters Meant To ‘Capture And Assassinate’ Officials, Court Filing Says WASHINGTON (Reuters) — Federal prosecutors offered an ominous new assessment of last week’s siege of the U.S. Capitol by President Donald Trump’s supporters on Thursday, saying in a court filing that rioters intended “to capture and assassinate elected officials.” Prosecutors offered that view in a filing asking a judge to detain Jacob Chansley, the Arizona man and QAnon conspiracy theorist who was famously photographed wearing horns as he stood at the desk of Vice President Mike Pence in the chamber of the U.S. Senate. The detention memo, written by Justice Department lawyers in Arizona, goes into greater detail about the FBI’s investigation into Chansley, revealing that he left a note for Pence warning that “it’s only a matter of time, justice is coming.” “Strong evidence, including Chansley’s own words and actions at the Capitol, supports that the intent of the Capitol rioters was to capture and assassinate elected officials in the United States government,” prosecutors wrote.
  21. Franklin Graham slammed for 'inciting violence' after comparing Republicans who voted to impeach to 'Judas' Evangelical leader and top Trump religion advisor Franklin Graham is under fire Thursday after attacking Republican Members of Congress who voted to impeach President Donald Trump, to "Judas," the biblical times apostle who betrayed Jesus Christ. "Shame, shame on the ten Republicans who joined with @SpeakerPelosi & the House Democrats in impeaching President Trump yesterday," Graham said on Twitter. "After all that he has done for our country, you would turn your back & betray him so quickly? What was done yesterday only further divides our nation." Graham also suggested they were paid off to vote against Trump, a dangerous allegation especially just one week after MAGA domestic terrorists and insurgents committed murder and sedition. 22. Probably, but from reports, Trump is now afraid that by issuing pardons left and right, he will provoke public anger that will harm "his brand".
  23. Physician Who Called Trump 'Healthiest' President Ever Dies At 73 Dr. Harold Bornstein, the long-haired New York City physician who once said Donald Trump would be the “healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” died Friday at age 73. His death was listed in a paid obituary Thursday in The New York Times and did not specify a cause. “Dr. Bornstein was a force of nature who brought joy to his family, friends and everyone he encountered in life, and continues to do so in memory. He loved his wife, Melissa,” the obituary read. After graduating from Tufts Medical School in 1975, Bornstein went into practice with his father on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. He also worked at the nearby Lenox Hill Hospital. Bornstein counted President Trump, 74, among his patients for more than 35 years until he gave an interview to the Times disclosing that the president took Propecia, a medication that stimulates hair growth. “He has all his hair,” Bornstein said at the time, explaining that he also takes the drug himself. “I have all my hair,” he added. In the same interview, Bornstein said Trump also took a drug to control rosacea, another to lower his cholesterol and a daily baby aspirin to reduce the risk of heart attack. Two days afterward, Bornstein later alleged, three men including a Trump bodyguard strong-armed their way into the doctor’s office to seize the president’s medical records. In an interview with NBC News, Bornstein called the incident a “raid” and said that it made him feel “raped, frightened and sad.” Then-White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that the seizure, which occurred shortly after Trump took office, was “standard procedure” for an incoming president.
  24. The failure to confront the white supremacist invasion of police forces has had deadly consequences The apparent participation of off-duty officers in the rally that morphed into a siege on the U.S. Capitol building Jan. 6 has revived fears about white supremacists within police departments. These concerns are not new. White supremacy, the belief that white people are superior to other races, has long tainted elements within law enforcement. As I testified before Congress just months before this assault, there is a long history of racism in U.S. policing – and this legacy may have contributed to the violence in the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Reports of officers involved in an attack in which the symbols and language of white supremacy were clearly on display are concerning. But so too, I believe, is a policing culture that may have contributed to the downplaying of the risk of attack before it began and the apparent sympathetic response to attackers displayed by some police officers – they too hint at a wider problem.
